A few years before the Ordinance of Villers-Cotterêts (1539), the founding act of the primacy and exclusivity of French in documents relating to public life in the kingdom of France, François Rabelais published his novels Gargantua (1532) and Pantagruel (1534). One of the great founders of this idiom, the author took great pleasure in playing with words, listening to their sound and thus sharing his prodigious wealth. By all accounts, his grotesque style is characterized by profusion, excess and exaggeration. This article focuses on two emblematic figures of exaggeration: hyperbole and the litote.

The northwest of Côte d'Ivoire is a savannah entity rich in physical, human and economic components. It has a rich and varied biodiversity and a fairly dense hydrographic network. The soils are everywhere favorable to agricultural activity. This region has a mostly young, dynamic and diversified population. The economic activities are certainly varied, but they are dominated by agriculture. The latter remains strongly subjected to the hazards of the local climate. This vast area is unfortunately influenced by current climatic changes. From 1951 to 2008, the deterioration of the local climate has resulted in a downward trend in rainfall and water balance and an increase in temperature. This phenomenon has been steadily increasing since 1973. Anthropic actions also leave their mark. This causes real impacts on the physical and socio-economic environment. The result is an increasingly advanced degradation of hydrological resources, soils and biodiversity. Local economies are becoming more fragile; all this to the detriment of an increasingly vulnerable population.

Our world is prone to conflicts which, if left unchecked at reconciliation, can have serious repercussions for humanity. Wherever there is conflict, contempt, malice, hatred, jealousy and self-interest shine through. If reconciliation has often remained a figment of some victims' minds, this book, through its mechanisms, gives a different representation of it, bringing experience to this norm, which is often mocked by the perpetrators. It clearly draws attention to the fight against warmongering and community intolerance, a stand against war and against all those who, in their selfish interests, incite people to war. As a sine qua non for the realization of a life free of strife and conflict, he offers reconciliation. This language of reconciliation, sincerely expressed, shows the relevance of the power of words to disarm hearts, on the one hand, to make sense of it in order to facilitate its appropriation, and on the other hand, to define its scope in the restoration of peace.

In the professional practice of Social Psychology, the field of Public Health takes on special relevance because it is the social workers, through the social services of Public Health, who will determine the prevention of diseases, the promotion of Public Health, the adherence to treatment, the follow-up and channeling of the vulnerable, excluded or marginalized population that leads the number of deaths due to diseases related to poverty and unemployment. In our experience, social diagnosis and socioeconomic studies are instruments par excellence for the establishment of preventive networks and Public Health promotion.

The Republic of Belarus is actively developing science, technology and innovation, including through the use of international best practices in science and technology. Thus, the State Program of Innovation Development till 2025 as well as new scientific and technical programs have been launched in 2021. In addition, a task has been set to implement in the Belarusian regions, taking into account their competitive advantages, innovative projects to create high-tech industries based on developments of domestic scientists, which have great potential for commercialization both within the country and abroad. The transition to digital platforms as key instruments of digital transformation of traditional industries, as well as international cooperation in the use of modern technologies, educational and production organizations, development and serial production of knowledge-intensive products contributes to the growth of innovation potential of Belarus. Cooperation with foreign partners should play a key role in this. How is this process of innovation promoting the interests of Belarus implemented in practice? The parendodontic surgery has as its main objective to correct, by surgical means, some failure or failure in conventional endodontic treatment. This is the treatment option when the etiologic agent of the periapical inflammatory process cannot be eliminated conservatively in the search for tissue repair. Thus, the aim of this book is to address the importance of preoperative measures that the dental surgeon should perform prior to a parendodontic surgery. Thus, the information presented informs about the importance of an efficient anamnesis, the available complementary exams, biosafety, preoperative drug therapy, and the management of patients with special needs. Therefore, this work emphasizes that it is up to the dental surgeon to have the necessary knowledge to fully and properly evaluate the patient who will undergo parendodontic surgery. Therefore, the professional, too, must adhere to all reasonable measures for the trans-surgical comfort of his patient and to increase the possibility of successful surgery.

This book explains emotional crimes, acts that veer from a context of love and eroticism towards overt violence. The chosen approach moves away from exclusively intrapsychic, or psychoanalytic, models of analysis, to also take into account the interactions taking place between intrapsychic, interpersonal and institutional factors. It thus abandons the perspective focused on the crime itself. It is imperative to integrate the phase upstream of an emotional crime into the analysis, in order to determine under what conditions a subject's questioning suddenly provokes violent or even murderous behavior, and, conversely, what factors have little or no effect on the couple's stability. This concept also moves away from a purely legal perspective. It is closely linked to the formation of successful intersubjectivity in love relationships. These reflections will enable specialists in couples in conflict situations to better grasp the situations in which there is a predisposition to act out, in order to prevent violent developments.

The current national urban mobility scenario is critical. Several problems of transportation and quality of life are faced by Brazilian society, such as high levels of congestion, crowding in public transport, delay in displacement, etc. The transport of passengers by charter emerges as an alternative in facing the transport problems, since it results in less consumption of road space and less emission of pollutants. The present work focuses on the particularities of the transportation of employees of a mining company located in Grande Vitória, Espírito Santo. In this study, it was proposed a mathematical model based on the Open Vehicle Routing Problem (OVRP) to plan the transportation of employees through a fleet of chartered buses aiming the dimensioning of the minimum necessary bus fleet and the reduction of the total traveled mileage. The results obtained by the model indicated a substantial reduction in the transportation cost when compared to that currently practiced by the company studied.

To achieve Millennium Development Goal 5 (MDG5), developing countries such as Burkina Faso, Mali, Morocco, and Senegal have moved away from direct payment for cesarean sections to a policy of waiving cesarean section costs. The goal of these countries is to improve maternal health by providing equitable access to cesarean sections for all women and to reduce maternal mortality. However, these cost-reduction policies are not without risk to the countries' health systems. Their implementation requires much more commitment and responsibility on the part of governments. In other words, the sustainability of these abolition policies requires adequate political decisions and good planning to meet the challenges and avoid failures. It is within this framework that we have taken an interest in the Burkinabe, Malian, Moroccan and Senegalese contexts in order to conduct a literature review. The objective is to have a better understanding of the impact of the policy of exemption of costs related to cesarean section in these 4 countries, in order to draw recommendations for the perpetuation of these policies.

The aim of this study is to show that poor financial development in the Central African Republic (CAR) is explained by political instability. The analysis covers the period 1975-2013. The theories of law and finance, as well as the political thesis, are selected for this study. Results obtained using a Sims (1980) VAR model show that political instability explains low financial development through real channels. We also find that political instability significantly reduces financial development in the Central African Republic, and the negative effect increases as political instability intensifies. The study concludes that a reduction in political instability is essential for the success of any financial reform in the Central African Republic.

The present research aims at the analysis of the current conditions of prisoners' work made possible by the current Penitentiary System of the State of Rio de Janeiro. The prison work constitutes one of the possibilities for the (re)insertion of prisoners in society. In this sense, the present work seeks to discuss the meaning and the limitations of the (re)socialization under a sociological point of view. Prison work should be understood within the context of a society constituted as a living organism, in which its disposition varies according to the political-economic-social systems established by the state power. In this context, the consolidation of the neoliberal system, the emergence of new means of production and labour relations, as well as social policies influence the policies directed to the Prison System, in which prison labour is included. Similarly, the analysis of sociological causes - related to criminality, social insecurity and stigmatization - becomes imperative for the knowledge of the difficulties surrounding the theme and for policies aimed at the implementation of labor therapy to be effectively applied in the Penitentiary System.

Like any other company, a family business wants to remain active in the market. For this, there is the need to go through the succession process. In this process, managers pass the company to the successor and along with it the challenges to be faced by the organization in this process. Thus this study aimed to present the challenges to be faced by a company in the food industry in its first family succession process. Specific objectives were: to describe the company's history, the constitution of the family and of the family members that are part of the collaborators; to present the profile of the company's owner and of the possible successor; to identify if there is a plan for the succession in the company; and to point out the challenges faced by the company in the succession process. Methodologically, the monograph is characterized as descriptive research, qualitative and case study.

Algeria has a de facto multilingualism that continues to mark the daily lives of all Algerians. This plurilingualism is reflected in the coexistence of standard Arabic, dialectal Arabic, Berber and French. Linguistic practices in the media reflect a recognition of this linguistic and cultural diversity. I. Chachou argues that "today's media environment is less compartmentalized linguistically, with a diversity of usage". Television channels, in particular, are proving to be a place of linguistic freedom and innovation, with their roots in social discourse. To this end, we can argue that TV channels have played a more or less active role in disseminating and promoting dialectal Arabic in all its varieties. As a result, this language is regaining its creative capacity and becoming an endogenous norm, whose main characteristics are linguistic mixity and hybridity, manifested through the appropriation and adaptation of French to a local context.

In the search for a broader understanding of what Social Security is, this work aims to expose the emergence of the Brazilian Social Security. During the development of the research, we analyze the emergence of the first support systems created by mankind, as an instinct of survival and adaptation, influenced by the very human need for evolution. We observe that this system, since its emergence until the Constituent Assembly of 1988, has undergone several transformations influenced by political, economic and social factors that enabled its popularization, resulting in the expansion of the range of support, now counting with several benefits and forms of support provided by social security.

Pragmatics has difficulty separating itself from its semantic elder, yet according to Carnap's position, it must do as Jacob did, snatching the birthright from Esau, of the Bible, not by subterfuge but by refusing any interference with worldly reference. The principle at the heart of pragmatics is that its reference does not stop at the extralinguistic world, but by traversing it, achieves a sign-to-sign reference, as Peirce's theory of interpreters maintains. This is what pragmatics calls sui-referentiality. Our aim in this paper is to show that narrativity and the act of language are one and the same thing, allowing us to say that once the world has been narrativized, the category of the real vanishes like a useless question.

It portrays the quality of life (QoL) of deaf users of Libras in Curitiba, Paraná and metropolitan areas, addressing the needs of deaf people in relation to their QoL, because they represent a portion of the population that has a growing need for integration and interaction with other actors of society. However, the lack of linguistic interactions from a common language can be an aggravating factor in their QoL. This book includes the research that aimed to investigate how a group of deaf sign language users perceives their QoL, contributing to the means of collective health may be helping this part of the population. In addition, the book analyzes the factors that influence a more favorable QL for deaf people who use Libras, such as the means of access to information, public health and the laws of inclusion.

The world economy is characterised by instability, with W-shaped fluctuations marking the path to a global meta-conflict. The current chaotic scenario in the Brazilian prison system denounced in the media reveals the woes of a degraded recovery system with few possibilities of re-socialization. Man is configured as a major agent of transformation of the natural environment, promoting changes at a frenetic pace for the sake of economic development. Associated with environmental degradation, the lack of planning of geographic spaces contributes to the generation of conflicts and complex problems due to the inter-relationship between the various actors responsible for land occupation and environmental components. The environmental management of a natural resource, in a predominantly industrial environment located in a port complex, can make use of the watershed as a planning and management unit. This proposed management model was preceded by an environmental diagnosis, a survey of industrial activities and urban occupations around a watershed, which allowed the definition of actions, guidelines and goals for an integrated management in the search for improvement of environmental quality of the area of influence.

Basic reference for the development of a humanization process in the municipal public health service in São Borja - RS. The book presents the author's experience in strategic management of public organisations, referring more precisely to his period as Municipal Secretary of Health in the municipality of São Borja, on the western border of Rio Grande do Sul. During this period, he implemented the program Humanizar é Ser Humano (Humanize is Being Human), which obtained positive results and was the basis for this study.

The thyroid gland plays an important role in the somatic growth, maturation and psychomotor development of the fetus, newborn and child. Its dysfunction can be the cause of maternal fertility disorders and morphological and functional disturbances of varying importance in newborns and children. Ultrasound and thyroid hormone and TSH assays provide the basis for diagnosis, while appropriate treatment enables patients to carry their pregnancies to term and avoid the pre-, peri- and post-conceptional complications of dysthyroidism. The first study published in this book highlighted the influence of genetic and environmental factors on thyroid morphology and function during pregnancy. The 2nd study, which evaluated somatic growth, maturation and psychomotor development in children born to mothers treated for goitre during pregnancy, showed no abnormalities attributable to dysthyroidism or to the treatment received by the patients.

This paper investigates the relationship between equity capital and the default risk of a panel of 11 Beninese banks over the period 2004-2015. Using Roy's (1952) "Zscore" risk indicator, we highlight a negative relationship between equity capital and the probability of failure of Beninese banks through an econometric analysis based on the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM). Given the dynamics of the banking sector and the diversity of risks, it would appear necessary and imminent to re-examine and update the current prudential framework by incorporating new provisions.

This book presents the investigation about the pedagogical project of the Undergraduate Course in Music: Licenciatura, of the State University of Rio Grande do Sul (UERGS), which lasted from 2006 to 2019, investigating the characteristics of an artist/teacher, from what is expressed in the pedagogical project of the Undergraduate Course in Music: Licenciatura of UERGS. As methodology, the research was marked by the qualitative approach, by the documentary research as a method, having as technique for data collection the collection of documents. The analyzed document was the pedagogical project of the course under analysis. The conclusion of this research discussed the graduate profile of the course, presented in its pedagogical project as artist/teacher, or teacher/musician. It also dealt with the construction of this document, evaluating it according to the current legislation and pointing out some gaps in it. It is hoped, with this work, to contribute to the curricular reformulation of the degree course in music of UERGS and other higher education institutions, as well as to the advancement in the area of Music Education.

This end-of-study theoretical reflection, originally presented as part of an internship report, is set in the Czech Republic. It describes the evolution of the notion of historical heritage in this country. Unlike France, where the principle of the historic monument was enshrined in law as early as 1913, it has taken longer to develop the concept of historical heritage. This article looks at the Czech notion of historical heritage and its evolution in a turbulent institutional context, from the proclamation of the Austro-Hungarian Empire to the present day. Finally, the author raises the question of the future economic, technological and social implications of heritage valorization.

Following independence, Côte d'Ivoire enjoyed unprecedented socio-economic success. Thanks to this progress, the Ivorian government undertook major socio-economic investments. But at the end of the 1980s, the Ivorian economy was shaken by an international economic crisis. Decentralization was therefore recommended by the Bretons Woods institutions as a way of mitigating the impact of the crisis. For almost four (4) decades, decentralization has been at the heart of local management. However, decentralization is confronted by a series of crises that call into question its role in improving the living conditions of local populations in general, and in particular the level of access to basic amenities.
