Corporate governance has been built around several theories that describe the consequences of the opportunism of managers arising from the conflicting relationships they have with shareholders. In order to alleviate this problem and to align the interests of managers with those of shareholders, corporate governance proposes several governance mechanisms that can be internal or external.

The entrepreneur is the one who takes responsibility. He is full of initiative and creativity. In Kananga, the entrepreneurial spirit exists. Certain actions are carried out in the different areas of social life. This book on microenterprises in the rural Congolese environment proposes to verify whether they are sustainable in the rural commune of Idiofa and to identify the factors that influence their sustainability. Unfortunately, in general, microenterprises in rural areas of the Congo suffer from a sustainability problem, as several factors such as the socio-demographic characteristics of the microentrepreneur, the entrepreneurial culture, the management style, the lack of innovation as well as the context would be at the base.Surveys carried out in the rural commune of Idiofa, using statistical tools (univariate and bivariate) and the application of the Probit model, among microentrepreneurs, reveal that 85.1% of the microenterprises under examination do not reach 10 years of existence. However, the satisfactory estimates related to the socio-demographic characteristics, the management mode, the entrepreneurial culture, the innovation and the context in which the microenterprises of the rural Commune of Idiofa evolve have an influence on their sustainability at 63.6%.

In this context, industries in the sugar-energy sector, which demand a high use of water in their processes, are seeking ways to reuse water so that they can minimize the amount of water used and thus optimize its use.

In the genesis of hypertension in pregnancy, lipid peroxidation is described as a process that normally occurs in all tissues and cells, involving the oxidative conversion of unsaturated fatty acids to primary products known as hydroperoxides. Oxidative stress occurs when antioxidant mechanisms overwhelm oxidative systems. The ultimate goal of this process is endothelial dysfunction caused by ultrastructural deterioration to cell membranes.A relationship of lipid and apolipoprotein alterations with increased lipid peroxidation activity and oxidative stress has been established, therefore exploring evidence of an association between lipid fractions and the risk of preeclampsia may support and provide new insights into the etiology of this entity,The purpose of primary care is to prevent the development of pathologies that lead to long-term sequelae, so the determination of markers that allow establishing the increase of oxidative stress in patients with these hypertensive disorders could generate predictive methods to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality.

Due to population growth, city administrations are starting to worry about the scarcity of natural and finite resources that are being more demanded and also services for citizens such as water, energy, transportation, health, education and security. The information technologies have been allies in the challenge of making a more effective use of these resources, presenting increasingly smaller and more present devices and enabling greater control of the systems that manage such cities. When we analyse the plots of Brazilian telenovelas since their inception, we come across an immense range of works that deal with madness, without, however, the theme deserving greater attention. The book that the reader has in his hands seeks to fill this gap. Starting from the concept of social representation and a historical retrospective, the author invites us to a walk through the evolution of the concept of mental health to demonstrate how the history of madness itself influences the way the theme is approached in the novels. Elaine also demonstrates, through the analysis of several examples, how certain representations are repeated over time and lists them in categories. As a methodological cut, it is proposed a more detailed analysis of the telenovela Caminho das Índias, which in 2009, proposed a different approach to that usually employed in teledramaturgy, by electing schizophrenia - the mental disorder most often associated with madness - as the focus of a social campaign and sought in a didactic way to present it to the public as a treatable disease.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that the administrative theory formula. The subject of this research is the working environment and telework of the teachers of the Fiscal Educational Unit "Replica Aguirre Abad", Ecuador, 2020, whose motivation derives from the observation made to the educational processes implemented through the methodology of telework and the need to train teachers in the use of this tool. A quantitative methodology was used, with a non-experimental design, correlational associative type, whose techniques consisted in the method of analysis, data processing through statistical tables using the SPSS program, as an instrument for data processing of the variables under study. The selected population consisted of 45 teachers to whom we proceeded to apply a questionnaire consisting of 30 reliable items for the research process, the results show that the value of Spearman's coefficient is 0.678 and significance of 0.000. The importance of the relationship between the working environment and the telework of teachers is determined.

Human beings, like other living beings, share survival routines, one of the main ones being food, and alluding to eating habits throughout the universe, these are not only linked to more developed countries, but also to many other countries with extreme poverty, which also consume light food, as well as other habits such as rest hours, eating combined rations of food, etc. This leads to eating habits that are detrimental to health, and an unbalanced diet directly affects the overall development of children, particularly their performance at school. In this sense, the present material provides preventive tools for the adoption of healthy eating habits with the development of applied programmes.

The facial nerve can be stimulated with a biphasic current to unblock certain facial deformities and possibly limit facial pain. The electrical stimulator is a clinical tool that allows, on the one hand, to excite the mastoid foramen, which is a nervous zone located at the level of the lower jaw, and on the other hand, to record the muscular electrical response. This stimulator allows, with the help of electrodes, to generate variable electrical waves. The electrodes are controlled by a current programmable by a PIC 16f84 microcontroller in order to allow clinical flexibility in the programming of the parameters. A display system is also installed to identify clinically the excitatory wave (frequency, amplitude and waveform). We evaluated the muscular response thanks to an electrical detector which, first of all, amplifies the captured signal and then, with the help of a VCO, controls a small loudspeaker which informs us about the position of the excitation electrode in relation to the nerve.

Timely recognition and rational therapy of hearing loss in inflammatory middle ear diseases is one of the most important tasks of modern otorhinolaryngology. Purulent inflammations of the middle ear, both acute and chronic, are still one of the most common ENT diseases and in the structure of pathology of ENT organs account for 5.1 to 58% of cases, and from 8.6 to 37% of cases cause a degree of hearing loss.The etiology, pathogenesis, modern methods of diagnostics and treatment of patients with chronic inflammatory middle ear diseases are analyzed in the monograph, the algorithm of diagnostics and treatment of chronic inflammatory middle ear diseases is worked out and recommendations for physicians are given.This monograph is intended for masters of otorhinolaryngology, clinical residents and doctors of otorhinolaryngology.

The present study seeks to understand the relationship between work and the use of alcohol and tobacco by public servants of the Executive Branch of the State of Minas Gerais. It mobilized theoretical references related to the use of alcohol and tobacco, a very complex and multifaceted problem in today's society. Together, in relation to the question of the influence of work organization on the mental health of workers. Within this context, to understand the relationship between work and the use of alcohol and tobacco by public servants, the present research used a quantitative and qualitative methodology, in the descriptive mode. As a main result of the research on the influence of work on alcohol and tobacco consumption by public servers in Minas Gerais, there is no institutionalized support as a human resources policy to deal with this phenomenon, while quantitative data indicate that the use of alcohol and tobacco is somehow associated with suffering at work. We conclude that the present study contributes in academic terms to research in the area of mental health at work and also in the area of drug policies, especially in the work context.

Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their loved ones when faced with problems inherent to a life-threatening illness. Physical exercise can improve or maintain physical and psychological well-being in palliative cancer patients. In order to optimize and contribute to the quality of life of patients with chronic and progressive diseases, this text explores the implementation of physical exercise in people with advanced cancer in a home setting, providing a particular view through a clinical case together with guidelines of our own elaboration.

The present research analyzes the metamorphoses of conflicts textualized by Yasmina Kkadra. This novelist invites us to meditate on the questions of the human essence and its predisposition to violence and absurdity of this world. His novels refuse the reader comfort and certainty to offer a violence hidden in the folds and folds of writing novels. These texts denounce the barbarity of men of the 21st century, especially those of the Near and Middle East via Africa. In fact, we have tried to answer the following cardinal question: how does violence manifest itself in Yasmina Khadra's stories? To carry out this study, we used Jean Pierre Richard's thematic method, and we succeeded in showing that protean violence runs through both sides of Khadra's texts. The question of final peace in this modern space is only utopia and mirage.The main themes that surround the texts, have an important charge of violence, but to different degrees.

Hospital readmissions constitute a relevant problem for health services, hospital institutions and patients due to their impact on morbidity and mortality, and the province of Santi Spiritus does not escape this problem. With the general objective of characterizing hospital readmission in patients with chronic non-communicable diseases in the General Hospital Camilo Cienfuegos of Santi Spiritus from 2021 to 2022, an observational, descriptive, prospective and cross-sectional study was carried out in a population of 126 patients according to the research criteria: age, sex, chronic non-communicable diseases, risk factors, cause of readmission and time of occurrence of readmission were assumed as variables.The population showed a mean age of 66.19 years for the male sex and 70.38 years for the female sex.The causes of hospital readmission were mainly: complications of the previous admission, recurrence of the disease, poor therapeutic compliance and appearance of a new disease.The patients were readmitted in less than one month.

From the 1970s, there was a significant and disorderly population increase in the Municipality of Guarujá/SP/Brazil caused by tourists, migrants and new residents. As a consequence, irregular occupations appeared mainly in hillside areas, affecting negatively the balneability of the beaches with direct consequences in the public health, in the tourism and in the economy of the Municipality. This study aimed to evaluate the water quality of the urban drainage channels that inflow to Enseada Beach - Guarujá/SP. After comparing the six points evaluated with the control point located in a region not affected by anthropogenic actions, significant increases were found in practically all the items analyzed, providing evidence that these channels are being affected by pollution associated with the inadequate disposal of sewage from irregular and also regular occupations, with direct consequences to public health and the environment.

Increasingly powerful and miniaturized mobile computing devices have been used in several areas. Following this trend, wearable devices (wearable devices) develop and act in several niches. They are characterized as intelligent equipment, equipped with sensors and/or signal sending components, in the form of clothing or accessory, worn on the user's body. Among the domains which benefit from these tools, the area related to sports is observed. The demand for high performance of the athletes becomes a constant in the most diverse modalities. Among the factors which are interconnected to the sportsman's performance is his own health. To be able to visualize data about these factors becomes important, as actions can be taken based on this information. However, several devices collect and make available only individually a set of information. Thus, they do not allow a macro visualization of groups and teams. Thus, this work aims to build a prototype of wearable to capture the athlete's data through sensors.

This work aims to disseminate the knowledge and use of research methods in universities, especially in the area of Law. We decided to delve into the methodology of comparative legal research, since the results of these studies have contributed to the development of international legal culture and the increasingly comprehensive training of law students. Since the importance of the comparative method for the enrichment of the science of law is evident, it is necessary to insist on the need for its methodological integration and introduction, as a basic discipline (comparative law), in the various legal careers, both in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, and in university extension. This book aims to awaken in students and professionals an interest in comparative law. Thus, with a peculiar scientific focus, we intend to resume the debate on whether comparative law should be considered a "science", "branch", "discipline" or "method of legal research".

This study aims to demonstrate in a simple and illustrative way how the facilities of the living areas of workers on construction sites should be, according to Regulatory Standard NR 18 and highlighting the importance of the application of safety and health standards in the work environment. Ideal conditions in living areas are also important factors for the health and safety of construction site workers, ensuring their health and well-being. This promotion makes it more pleasant to coexistence stimulating the employee who currently spends more time living in a work environment than with their families.

In class societies that came with industrialization, the health of workers follows the steps of their productive restructuring and the asymmetry of social relations inside and outside of work. To reinforce the thesis of the social determination of class health, supported by many researchers, the doctoral student took the example of the accidents that occur with the industrialization of chicken meat in Brazil, using the condition of work doctor of companies in the industry for four years and expert doctor of Social Security. He observed that there was contradiction in the information of the frigorific with the social security, such disparity pointed there was much more than simple evasion. He contextualized the development of this industrial branch, the process and material conditions of production, the demands of the work and the possible harm to the health of its workers, hence the inference he makes about the confluence of external causes, coming from the business world and socially more determining, connected to internal causes of production, to compose a complex, non-linear causality, responsible both for the existence of accidents and work illnesses, and for the culpable or malicious non-communication to Social Security.

This book seeks to identify and analyze the levels of centrality existing among the municipalities that make up the Microregion of Campo Grande-MS. Specifically, it sought to verify which are the productive sectors that drive the micro-region, estimating the regional employment multiplier for each municipality, in order to observe the magnitude of the impact of the productive sectors drivers in the generation of formal employment and, find the attractiveness potential exercised by each municipality through the Centrality Index. The theoretical approach is based on the Central Place Theory, proposed by Walter Christaller.

Gold mining in West Africa has been known for a very long time. The three gold-bearing provinces of Bambouk, Galam and Bouré described by the Arabs for centuries belong to this part of Africa (Girard, 1992: 64). These provinces correspond respectively to the banks of the Falémé (Mali-Senegal), the Upper Niger, the Guineo-Malian border and the Kankan region (Guinea). They have played a considerable role in linking Africa with other regions of the world. In Senegal, mining activities have long been dominated by the exploitation of phosphates and construction materials in the coastal area (Cape Verde and Thiès regions). The proximity of the coast and the opening up to other continents, as well as the concentration of populations and economic activities in this part of Senegal, have favoured the development of mining (phosphates, limestone, etc.). On the other hand, the mining potential (iron, gold and marble) of eastern Senegal, known since colonial times, remained for many years at the project stage.

The "new economy" is a purely economic term, referring to the financialisation of the economy through institutional investors, who play a major role in the financial markets and in corporate financing. Among the main factors of the stock market crisis of the 2000s, we mention "the new economy". This prompted investors to rethink their approach and dealings with innovative SMEs. This change was particularly apparent in the area of "private equity".

The objective of this work was to evaluate the growth, physiology, production and postharvest quality of guava cv. Paluma under salt stress and foliar application of salicylic acid. The experiment was conducted under greenhouse conditions, in a 2 × 4 factorial design, with two levels of electrical conductivity of irrigation water (0.6 and 3.2 dS m-1) and four concentrations of salicylic acid (0; 1.2; 2.4 and 3.6 mM), with three repetitions. Irrigation with 3.2 dS m-1 water promoted reductions in gas exchange, chlorophyll a and b contents, relative water content, and increased electrolyte leakage in the leaf lamina of guava plants at 150 days after transplanting. Water with an electrical conductivity of 3.2 dS m-1 reduced rootstock and scion diameter, crown diameter, crown volume, and vegetative vigor index, as well as gas exchange and production components. The application of salicylic acid at concentrations ranging from 0 to 3.6 mM did not mitigate the effects of salt stress on Paluma guava plants at 390 days after transplanting.
