Bioprospecting is underway to replace nitrogen fertilizers with bacteria that fix atmospheric nitrogen (N2) and convert it into a form that the plant is capable of assimilating, such as Gluconacetobacter diazotrophicus, an obligate endophytic bacterium and the only species of its kind capable of fixing nitrogen. This bacterium is also endowed with other characteristics, such as the biosynthesis of levan, an important biomolecule for the scientific community, as it can be used in the pharmaceutical industry as a hypocholesterolemic, anticarcinogenic, prebiotic and modified drug release agent. The aim of this research was to isolate, morphologically characterize and select levain-producing strains from endophytic bacteria with characteristics similar to G. diazotrophicus associated with two varieties of sugarcane grown in the São José do Rio Preto region (SP).

Food crops have been the staple diet of most humans and animals since the dawn of time. The self-sufficiency of populations depends in part on the production of these food crops. This production is misdirected, with socio-economic, ecological and environmental consequences. Our era is experiencing the most deadly health problems in various forms because of this misdirection of agricultural policies. No-one is immune to this problem, even the so-called "rich". Citrus fruits and pulses are also affected by this phenomenon. The direct consumption of these food crops or through agri-food products is not without consequences for life on land and in water. If we are to save our planet, we need to change our food production techniques and strategies. The production of food without the use of chemicals is necessary for the health of our times on the one hand, and the ecological and environmental salvation of humanity on the other.

The theme of this book is the production of history videos and their contribution to learning. One of the aims is to reflect on a pedagogical practice carried out with secondary school students. It's the "My Movie is a Show!!!" cultural competition, which consists of creating videos for the subject of History with pedagogical outings as the motivating point. To do this, it is necessary to identify who the students are, the school and the teacher involved in this activity and how learning occurs with this differentiated activity. The main objective of this study was to analyze the potential of Payment for Environmental Services (PES) to generate socio-economic and environmental benefits in water resource management, when forest and water interact on small rural properties. Water is increasingly becoming a strategic resource in terms of vital, economic and geopolitical interests. With the increase in environmental degradation in parallel with the growing demand for water for various uses, there has been a need to rethink public policies, especially with regard to environmental management instruments. The current scenario requires management from the perspective of various economic, social and environmental aspects, which has led to the strengthening of a new management strategy for water resources: Payment for Environmental Services. PES can be considered a good strategy to ensure the practice of sustainable farming and sustainable forest management, which directly influence the conservation and integrated management of water and forest resources in a watershed, as happened in Extrema-MG.

The purpose of this book is to present a case study carried out in a company in the field of scientific medical refrigeration, located in the city of Santa Rosa, RS. The aim of the study was to identify the types of innovation, based on Wang and Ahmed's (2004) model, in the period between 2001 and 2016, which led to changes in the company's strategic positioning over the period under analysis. The periods of strategic change were analyzed using the three dimensions of Pettigrew, Ferlie and McKee's methodology (1992), context, content and process, using the longitudinal and historical analysis of direct research procedures (MINTZBERG, 1979). Based on the data collected, the organization can be classified into three strategic periods. The results showed that in the first period the organization presented market innovation, in the second period product innovation at a radical and incremental level, as well as strategic and behavioural innovation and the third period was again made up of product innovation.

The aim of this master's research was to understand the strategies constructed by black women (black and brown) who are students in Youth and Adult Education to live with little schooling in a society organized through writing. To this end, five women were selected - aged between 27 and 67 - who were in the process of becoming literate in the EJA. The aim was to retrieve their life and work trajectories and also to survey the literacy events in which these women participate in their daily lives, in order to understand what solutions they find to resolve situations that require reading and writing (in their personal and professional lives and at school). The categories of gender, race, work and generation were articulated and the concepts of social vulnerability, strategy, intersectionality and illiteracy were used. It was possible to observe common trajectories among the interviewees: abandonment, poverty, domestic violence, low salaries and difficulties in coming out as black women. This confirmed the initial hypothesis that issues relating to gender, race and lack of schooling together produce social effects in their lives.

The role and place of the general practitioner must evolve towards comprehensive patient care. Brachial plexus lesions in newborns were first described in the publications by Duchenne (1872) and Erb (1874). Various factors are involved in their etiopathogenesis and different levels of severity can be detected in these injuries. It is known that the majority of cases recover spontaneously, but a significant percentage will have significant aesthetic and functional sequelae as the child grows. One of the conditions that arises as a result of this injury is supination deformity, which leads to limitations in activities such as dressing, eating or drinking water. This book shows the prevalence of impacted third molars and the classification of their position by analyzing panoramic radiographs of patients aged between 18 and 28 years. The eruption of permanent teeth is part of a complex series of events through which a tooth germ develops and the tooth erupts into its functional position in the arch. In this process, there are numerous possible occurrences that interfere with tooth eruption, leading to inclusion. Preoperative radiographic assessment of third molars is essential for correct diagnosis, the use of follow-up therapies for associated neoplasms and appropriate surgical planning. Many of the factors that influence the decision to extract these teeth are revealed in this evaluation. It shows a higher prevalence of inclusion in the lower third molars and a slight presence of anodontia related to them. To begin with, we need to understand how women's intimate hygiene has been portrayed since its inception, so that we can then talk about this constantly changing market. Secondly, this book will look at the media and advertising aspects and the strategies - both marketing and product innovation - of advertisers in the intimate hygiene sector. Finally, a series of studies will be used to decipher the role of women in advertising. But also to highlight, or not, the notion of taboo around menstruation from both a male and female point of view. We will try to understand a brand discourse that adapts, or not, to the women of society, because transparency is the desire of all women in modern society.

The Future Shop group is an SME with capital of 500,000,000 million CFA francs; its head office is on Boulevard de la Liberté in Douala. It has been operating in the mobile telephony sector for 2 years. After signing its first contract with NOKIA, it signed agreements with MOTOROLA, SONY ERICSSON, LG and others. Future Shop set up stores and distributed them throughout Cameroon and even abroad. The aim of all these arrangements is to sell different ranges and brands of phones.

In view of the important role of education for society, this study aimed to analyze and compare the dropout rate and average academic performance in the first year of students who entered through the Traditional Selection Process and SiSU, from 2010 to 2015, in the undergraduate courses at IF Sudeste MG - Campus Rio Pomba. Frequency, mean and T-test for independent samples were used. With regard to the forms of admission, SiSU and the Traditional Selection Process, it can be said that in 2010 and 2011, the Traditional Selection Process predominated in all undergraduate courses at the Rio Pomba Campus. Between 2012 and 2015, however, it cannot be said that there was a predominance of a single form of entry. With regard to drop-outs, it was found that the second semesters of the undergraduate courses were the ones that most often had the highest percentages of drop-outs in both forms of admission. With regard to academic performance, it can be said that there was no significant difference between the average of students who entered via SiSU or the Traditional Selection Process.

The quality of fish smoking depends on the fuels used, the type of smoker and the smoking method adopted. This study aims to improve the willingness of fish smokers and consumers to opt for good-quality smoked fish. To this end, 90 fishmongers were identified and surveyed during the smoking process, while 70 consumers were surveyed in the communes of Abomey-Calavi and Cotonou. The data collected concerned the species of fish smoked, the pre-smoking operations carried out, the type of smoker and fuel used, the parameters for choosing smoked fish at the time of purchase, the species of smoked fish consumed, consumer satisfaction and expectations regarding the quality of the smoked fish purchased, and the length of time the fish had been smoked and marketed. SAS (2006) software was used to analyze the data, and fish species was taken as the source of variation. The study revealed that 35.71% and 60% of fish smokers in Mèdéjonou and Wlacodji respectively were able to smoke fish at home.

In the last two decades, changes in eating habits and sedentary lifestyles have increased the prevalence of overweight and obesity in both developed and developing countries. In Brazil, overweight has been increasing steadily since the 1970s and is currently found in around half of the population. The high prevalence of malnutrition in the past has given way to an increase in overweight and obesity in children and adolescents. In the 1990s, the problem of childhood obesity in the world became alarming and its rapid development in this population made it the biggest public health problem in pediatrics1, with a significant impact on the loss of functional capacity in children and adolescents. Obesity in adolescence is also associated with risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease (CVD) in adulthood. Much of the problem is due to excess abdominal fat, which increases lipolysis at this site, stimulates the mobilization of fatty acids into the portal system, increases the concentration of free fatty acids in the liver and consequently increases the risk of cardiovascular disease.

The creation of MERCOSUR is based on the experience of the Latin American Integration Association, and motivated by the rapprochement between Brazil and Argentina in order to promote regional trade. In 1990, the relationship between these two countries resulted in the Buenos Aires Act, in which the economies decided to form a Common Market. In 1991, Paraguay and Uruguay joined the process to form a Common Market through the Treaty of Asunción. However, it was on December 17, 1994 that MERCOSUR gained legal personality under international law. With the advance of globalization and the increase in economic interdependence, international crises in the world's largest economies have had an effect on different regions, and especially on the trade policies of developing countries. Thus, the paper sought to analyze MERCOSUR's trade evolution, with emphasis on the effects caused by the Asian Crisis (1997), the Russian Crisis (1998) and the International Financial Crisis (2008).

In the context of the global environmental crisis, the Amazon has emerged as a symbol of a nature that is supposed to be untouched for the most part. The attention drawn to its biodiversity and natural riches will not allow it to remain unscathed by the onslaughts of big business, given the widespread discourse that the region is a great human void, to be protected by world society as a source of resources and the provision of essential environmental services. The object defined for this study consisted of investigating the human and environmental interactions necessary for the organization of indigenous economic systems in the Upper Solimões River region, with the aim of verifying their components, their dynamics and the extent to which these elements are linked to the proposition of environmental, economic and social sustainability.

The GNR is a public body, at the service of the Portuguese people, and is characterized as a "security force of a military nature", normally reporting to the member of the Government responsible for the area of internal administration (MAI). In its organic law (LOGNR)2 the GNR is defined as follows: "The National Republican Guard, hereinafter referred to as the Guard, is a security force of a military nature, made up of military personnel organized into a special body of troops and endowed with administrative autonomy.The Guard's mission, within the scope of national security and protection systems, is to ensure democratic legality, guarantee internal security and citizens' rights, as well as collaborate in the implementation of national defense policy, under the terms of the Constitution and the law."

In October 2022, at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, the key factors of growth of the Belarusian economy in 2023 were named. First, it is the outstripping increase in demand due to the build-up of investments in the main capital. It is planned to implement 129 regional, more than 50 import-substituting and 14 integration projects, which are provided with sources and mechanisms of financing. Secondly, it is the growth of exports by five and a half percent. It should be noted that in the first nine months of 2022, Belarus had a foreign trade surplus of four billion dollars. This suggests that the Belarusian economy has entered a sustainable trajectory of recovery growth in 2022. In particular, the main contribution was made by agriculture, and since September - by industry, where the recovery dynamics is also taking shape, growing in sectors that produce high-tech products. How does international cooperation influence the solution of urgent issues of the Belarusian economy development? How does the Belarusian side interact very effectively with key partners on different continents? This is the subject of the proposed study.

The content of this book is part of a research project that aimed to verify the gender representations of three literacy teachers, and to analyse the effects of these representations on the production of children's gendered identities. The methodological procedures used to produce the information were: interviews with three teachers who work in the early years of primary school and observation, with a field notebook, of the classes where these teachers worked. The concepts of gender, representation, identity and difference from the post-structuralist field of Cultural Studies were used in the analyses. The argument developed in this study is that the teachers' gender representations produce differences between boys and girls with implications for the production of the lessons taught, the activities carried out at school, the games played by the children and the way the teachers understand and talk about the children's reading and writing performance.

In December 2023, a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held, at which the participants noted that the member states of the association were able to return to the growth trajectory this year. In fact, according to the results of the first nine months of 2023, the volume of industrial production in the CIS increased by almost three and a half percent, cargo transportation - by almost six percent. And further efforts of the countries of the integration structure will be aimed at removing obstacles in mutual trade, liberalization in the sphere of services and attraction of investments in order to jointly produce competitive products. After all, the creation of high-tech products with characteristics superior to foreign analogues is a benchmark for all participants of the Commonwealth. And there are already many examples of such effective cooperation, including in cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union. In particular, a cooperative project to create a Eurasian electric bus is under active consideration. Such cross-cutting integration projects in the post-Soviet space could utilize the joint scientific, technological and financial potential of the Commonwealth. How does this cooperation work today? This is the subject of the proposed paper.

In view of the high perishability of fruits such as acerola and banana and the population's great concern to adopt healthier eating habits, four formulations of acerola jelly with green banana biomass were prepared, with different percentages of biomass added. All the jelly treatments were subjected to analysis of pH, titratable acidity, soluble solids, vitamin C, moisture, ash, lipids, crude fiber and also sensory analysis and purchase intention.

The theory of relativity has contributed significantly to the construction of the technological era in which we live. It is necessary to understand it and the extent to which this scientific proof of the existence of gravitational waves can interfere in our lives. The detection of gravitational waves could completely change astronomy as we know it, because gravitational waves are not interfered with by the medium in which they propagate, so the wave detected is the original wave released by cosmic events, such as the big bang. There is an expectation that in the future we will be able to understand the dynamics of the universe that caused the big bang or even verify whether the big bang really existed or whether another type of event occurred, by reading the wave released by this event, which due to its intensity of force still propagates in space-time.

Over the last three decades, the governments of various countries around the world, including Mozambique, have been focusing on the local economic development model, which essentially states that development should be a process that has its starting point in resources (economic, material and human), in the potential of each municipality, district or province, and above all, in SMEs, which occupy a strategic position in reducing poverty and promoting economic development. This book reflects on the contribution of SMEs in general, and mills in particular, to Local Economic Development, and is therefore an important theoretical contribution to readers. In fact, this is a masterpiece whose relevance concerns not only Mozambique, but also, and above all, all developing countries, so the acquisition and reading of this book is a necessary recommendation to broaden the horizons of entrepreneurs, businesspeople, researchers, academics, government officials and other interested parties.
