Since the 1960s, Africa has benefited from development aid under the banner of "fighting poverty", and few people questioned the validity of development aid. Around the 1980s, however, some scientists began to be sceptical about the merits of development aid, and this opened up a debate among scientists about the legitimacy and effectiveness of development aid. This book has been written to take a look at the effectiveness of development aid in Africa after more than 60 years of experience.

The production of banana barraganete in the canton of El Carmen is part of the productive activities that stimulate the local economy of a significant number of small and medium farmers who grow banana barraganete, production that is intended to meet the demand of the local and national market. This productive activity is part of the productive apparatus of the canton, however, the costs and processes of production of banana barraganete are high, which reduces competitiveness because extensive production systems are used, which makes it difficult to adequately exploit the climatic, soil and environmental benefits of the sector. The canton of El Carmen is the first producer of banana barraganete in the country, but is unaware of the socio-economic behavior of this productive activity, despite having varieties of banana that are desired in the international market, the latter being a major factor for the development of the canton to become one of the main productive activities of the town.

The works gathered in this text, whose interest is to contribute to the field of pedagogy and particularly, to the didactics of language and literature, give an account of two issues and at the same time problems that contribute to reflect on the north towards which education looks around the Colombian educational reality, specifically in the city of Medellín: reading comprehension and critical thinking, concepts that although in essence different, are part of the same enterprise: that of reading in the school.

The present work constitutes a compilation of information of several authors that offers to the reader details about the phytopathogenic bacteriosis in the tobacco crop. It is years of constant study by the human being, which makes possible to concretise in this material as an important source of knowledge of the symptomatology in Cuba and other countries, supported by images of the affectations so that it is of easy recognition at the moment of putting into practice the theoretical knowledge, The novelty of the research is that they can be dealt with more promptly and efficiently, avoiding substantial losses to the economy and above all when the causes are known and treatable.

Education has broken the traditional paradigms and has projected constructivist teaching, generating meaningful learning, thus strengthening the motivation for understanding the environment; that is why education is the basis for the development of a country. A quality education system that takes as its starting point the human development inherent in a teacher-researcher, builds a fairer and happier society because of what he/she does in his/her daily activities; where the teacher must be a competent agent who understands contexts, who analyses them and produces texts about problematic situations in school environments, where he/she proposes solutions, using concepts and research methods in order to argue and improve educational practices.

A subsurface characterisation was carried out with the Georadar technique in the Caracas valley, specifically in the vicinity of the Caracas Metro. During the Georadar acquisition campaign, geological information was compiled in order to characterise the subsoil at the highest possible resolution, emphasising the subsoil architecture and delimiting fluids in the subsoil. At Las Mercedes, subsurface geometry was determined and the GPR results were correlated with previous soil studies in the area. At the Miguel Angel service station, several hydrocarbon plumes were detected along the gas pipeline and in the vicinity of the petrol pumps, and the displacement of some reflectors was identified, associating this phenomenon with a possible fault. The GPR technique demonstrated good performance in the determination of subsurface architectures and in the delineation of subsurface fluids, the variety of antennas makes GPR very versatile if a wide range of shielded and unshielded antennas are available.

The aim of this research was to determine the contribution of pedagogical supervision to improving the professional skills of primary school teachers. The study was carried out in the Circonscription d'Éducation de Base de Ouaga 9, Ouagadougou commune, in the Centre region. The study population is made up of teachers, school principals and pedagogical supervisors. Data collection was based on documentary research, questionnaire surveys and interview guides. The results of this survey revealed that pedagogical supervision contributes to improving the pedagogical skills and classroom practice of primary school teachers. Indeed, the various classroom visits carried out by pedagogical supervisors enable teachers to improve their pedagogical skills, such as regulatory posting, lesson preparation, regularity of daily homework and implementation of individual improvement plans (PAI) and collective improvement plans (PAC).

Results are presented that provide information on the relevance of the use of medicines in hospitalised pregnant women, allowing the design of intervention strategies that contribute to improving prescribing in this population, which favours the quality of medical care for patients, avoids complications due to inadequate use of pharmacotherapeutic resources, and economic savings due to unjustified use of drugs.

In this sense, being the same person who performs the functions of Chairman of the Board and CEO, the presence of control is diminished, making it impossible to obtain the optimal results required by the shareholders. The CEO-Chairman duality is not optimal when it comes to maximizing shareholder wealth, since in these cases control over the CEO's actions is put at risk. Therefore, control over the CEO's decisions is one of the main responsibilities of the chairman of the board. Consequently, under a duality scenario, the CEO's actions can be influenced, leading to high agency costs (Jensen & Meckling, 1976).

Since the 1980s, Physical Education in Brazil has witnessed concern about its horizons for study and research, which is why the importance of complementing and engaging with the human and social sciences to discuss explanations of the body and body culture of movement together with Physical Education has been problematised in academic circles. In this context, a number of studies have emerged that aim to understand the relationships and possibilities of using anthropology in Physical Education. In view of the epistemological need to explain the body from the biological to the cultural level, its limitations and nuances. The general aim of this research is to analyse the teaching of anthropology in the Physical Education degree course at the IFCE Canindé campus. The methodology used comprised a case study of a qualitative nature, also analysing bibliography and documents. By analysing the data from an interpretative perspective, this study concludes that Anthropology-based subjects are effectively relevant, given the considerable epistemological and reflective gains that this field can bring to scientific aspects that are in line with Physical Education.

The sociology of religion was born when sociology was born as a science -the 19th century-, coinciding with the moment of transformations in Western life in the political, religious, cultural and economic spheres, among others. That is, when capitalism appeared as a new system.In this new scenario, the religious fact is of concern because it also undergoes changes. In this sense, we seek to study it scientifically because religious discourse appears as the experience of the religious fact. Thus, what the believer appears to have as religious motivations are not necessarily so, since society influences the conformation of beliefs and practices and they are part of social conflicts, creating the need to be interpreted -the religious fact- as a social fact.

The successful implementation of the principle of inclusion requires a structure to cater for its peculiarities. According to current legislation, people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), whether they have a disability or ASD, have the right to quality education and must be included in the context of ordinary schools, along with other pupils. In the most serious cases, one of the conditions considered necessary is the referral of a therapeutic counsellor (TA) to the school context, an action that straddles a fine line between inclusion and exclusion. As such, this book aims to unveil some of the OT's conceptions of their work in the school context, showing how much this experience marks the lives of those referred for this role in the school context, configuring it as a transformative experience both professionally and personally, making Special Education a possible area for future work. It also shows that the effectiveness of the TAs' work is closely related to the effective involvement of all those involved in the educational act in favour of the learning and development of the student being monitored.

The research was carried out in the Province of Chanchamayo, Junín, Peru, with the purpose of characterizing, analyzing the sustainability and developing experiences for the technological improvement of citrus (Citrus sinensis) valencia variety farms. The work was developed with producers in the Province of Chanchamayo, with a population of 2,200 producers from which a sample was taken (n=135), a survey was conducted with components of technical and socio-economic aspects of the farm. The results of the characterization indicate that orange (Citrus sinensis) valencia variety farms are very complex, and that families are highly dependent on this crop: a representative group of producers have other types of crops within the same farm, which allows them to have an additional income for the family. On the other hand, it was found that one group has monocultures, making their economic stability more vulnerable, since they only depend on income from the sale of oranges (Citrus sinensis) valencia variety, which has significant price variations throughout the year.

The National Strategy for the Conservation of Tapirs in Ecuador is a collective effort of researchers, institutions and other organizations committed to the protection and conservation of the Tapirus genus in Ecuador, the result of a multidisciplinary and interinstitutional work during several years that combines the fields of research, management, conservation and community participation for decision making and the elaboration of lines and action plans for the conservation of this highly representative and threatened genus of the neotropical forests of Ecuador, South America and the world.

Patient satisfaction with perioperative care can contribute to assessing the quality of health services by identifying gaps and subsidising health planning and public policies. The general objective of this study was to assess the quality of perioperative care from the patients' perspective in a hospital belonging to the Unified Health System (SUS). The specific objectives were to analyse the sociodemographic, clinical and therapeutic profile of patients undergoing surgical treatment in a public hospital; to analyse patient expectations and perceptions of perioperative care in this hospital; and to analyse the gaps between patient perceptions and expectations of the quality of perioperative care in this hospital.

The present research was referenced with authors such as: Torelló (2013), in Espinoza and Pérez (2015) and Durán. (2016). The main objective was to propose the design of a Specialised Technical Training Plan for Teachers in Citizen Security and Prison Services at the Universidad Nacional Experimental de la Seguridad in the state of Táchira. The key informants were: 4 full-time teachers, 1 Head of Teacher Development, all attached to the University's Táchira Training Centre and with more than 4 years of experience. The data collection technique used was the survey, with the instrument being an open questionnaire with 06 items. The information obtained was processed through the diagnosis of the units of analysis using the triangulation technique.

The key point of the Management Model for the Sandoval Beekeeping Microenterprise is the Associativity with farmers in the area, in order to improve the value chain of APISAN honey bee honey. The qualitative theoretical methodology proposed by Hernández Sampieri and Fernández (2010) was used in the design, starting with a problem and defining in the research design the components of the CANVAS Management Model for the Structuring of the Value Chain. The present research on journalistic culture focuses on the qualitative deciphering of the treatment and construction of the news in different print media taken as a sample in region 5 of Ecuador (Provinces: Santa Elena, Guayas, Los Ríos, Bolívar and Galápagos). The parameters used for this are critical of the journalist's daily work: selection of news events, treatment, ideological level and ethics at the moment of constructing the information to be disseminated.

The cadres of the municipality of Florencia show insufficiencies in knowledge management for local development due to multifactorial causes. In view of this situation, the research problem was defined as: How to contribute to the preparation of the cadres of the municipality of Florencia in knowledge management for local development? For the solution of this problem, it was determined as an objective to implement a program aimed at the preparation of the cadres of the municipality of Florencia in knowledge management for local development. The methods of the theoretical level were used: the historical-logical, the analytical-synthetic, the inductive-deductive and the systemic-structural-functional, in addition to the methods of the empirical level as well as the statistical processing of the obtained data. The practical contribution of the research is materialized in the Program sustained in the integration of its components from a developmental dynamics and the diversity of actions directed to the preparation of the cadres of the municipality of Florencia in the management of knowledge for local development.

Due to the accelerated life and with little time available, nowadays products that are easy to prepare and with little time of dedication are very popular. Additionally, the consumption of fruit pulp is preferred to normal fruit due to the difficulty of handling and high level of waste of fruits such as: blackberry, soursop and coconut, guava, strawberry, naranjilla, passion fruit, pineapple, pitajaya, among others. The frozen fruit pulp market in Ecuador has been growing in the last five years; however, none of these companies has an established marketing plan and does not promote its product, so it sells what is sold on impulse and does not motivate the purchase. According to the market research conducted, there is a 48.80% of unsatisfied demand within our target market; in other words, there is a great opportunity for growth. The option to grow in sales and make the company more productive and profitable is to allocate an annual value to the marketing budget, plus an additional item for the increase of people as sales force; the results can be seen in the profit and loss statement projected to five years.

State, unlike the power and influence of the ruling classes, is omnipresent because it has evolved along with Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), even though its political leaders seem to contradict this assumption. In its early days, the State transmuted political power into religion and later into commerce, art and science. Today, the state administers sufficient sums to revive first-rate economies or finance global banking systems.

The present pre-experimental quantitative study aimed to determine the effect of the application of an educational program on maternal attitudes and preventive practices of anemia in children under 1 year of age at the Pueblo Libre-La Esperanza-Trujillo Health Post, 2018. The sample consisted of 61 mothers, to whom a questionnaire was applied before and after the educational program to measure the level of maternal attitudes and practices.The results of this research showed that after the application of the educational program 60.7% of the mothers presented a favorable attitude, 29.5% a moderately favorable attitude and only 9.8% showed an unfavorable attitude. As for practices, 57.4% of the mothers presented good practices, 26.2% regular practices and 16.4% poor practices. Thus concluding that the implementation of an educational program has a significant effect on maternal attitudes and preventive practices of anemia in 1-year-old children of the Pueblo Libre- La Esperanza-Trujillo Health Post, 2018.

Alcoholism is the most widespread drug addiction in the world and the gateway to other drugs, in addition to being the conditioning factor of many diseases and violent acts in the XXI century.
