This book deals with the peculiarities of the Bidding Law and its nuances in relation to practical activities in the quest to guarantee the common good and the public interest. Specifically, it seeks to demonstrate that the legislation relating to public procurement is capable of providing this service, provided that it is implemented in accordance with the provisions contained in the constitutional principles and the national legal system, culminating in the achievement of the noble principle of Public Efficiency. The aim was to clarify aspects of the legislation that have repercussions on the results obtained by the state and consequently on the quality of the services offered to society as a whole. It reports possible flaws or behaviours that substantially interfere with its degree of public effectiveness. From an overall viewpoint, it analyses the main vices that distort public practices and set the precedent for mismanagement and misappropriation of public resources. It provides subsidies for practices that aim, within the law, to provide better results and the achievement of the State's primary objectives, which are reflected in the solidification of the Public Administration as a guarantor of social order and progress.

This article analyzes the judicial application of the agreements and recommendations issued by the ILO in the Colombian case, describing the structure of the International Labor Organization, its supervisory bodies and mechanisms, as well as the means of normative production of that organization, identifying the agreements and recommendations that are in force in Colombia, establishing their normative hierarchy, studying the membership of such agreements to the block of constitutionality, and defining the guiding criteria for their application in judicial matters.

Disorders of the prostate gland in adult canines include: Prostatic hyperplasia, prostatic cysts, inflammation and squamous neoplasia. These disorders are difficult to establish by physical examination and x-rays, therefore it is important to perform other tests to support the diagnosis such as ultrasound and fine needle aspiration prostate cytology (FNA), in order to prevent and treat these disorders in time. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency and type of prostatic alterations in canines diagnosed by ultrasonography and ultrasound-guided FNA in 25 uncastrated canines. Ultrasonographic examination was performed followed by ultrasonography-guided fine needle aspiration of the prostate. The effect of age group and clinical signs was evaluated in relation to the type of prostatic alteration. The slides were stained with Wright stain and cell recognition was performed. The monograph examines the history of the study of article lists, the degree of study of article lists, the time and place of writing, the structure of article lists. The lexical features of the article lists are considered: names of officials, titles, names of documents, everyday vocabulary, oriental anthroponyms and toponyms. Special attention is paid to the phonetic and morphological content of the article lists.

The dispute between the Hegelians who have focused their interest on teaching philosophy and the Kantians who have favoured learning to philosophise, has marked the reflection that revolves around the role of philosophy as an academic space in secondary education. This paper is based on the contextual problem of the exclusion of philosophy in the legislative proposals of public policy in Colombian education, identifying that the absence of a defined place within the curriculum has blurred its ¿¿¿¿¿ in the educational work of the school. In this framework, the Didactics of meaning is proposed as an analogical perspective that generates a dialogue between meaning and signifier, in the context of pedagogical practice as a field of metacognition and transformation in the profession of being a teacher. Finally, this study is framed within the Catholic school, due to the relevance it has had in the constitution of the school institution in Latin America and its commitment to critical reflexivity, without this constituting a criterion of exclusion of the non-denominational school.

This book presents the categories of the role of the mother, the law and the public school as institutions responsible for forming virtuous citizens as proposed by Pestalozzi; in addition, the triad of Pestalozzi's method to educate is taken up again in comparison with what today is called competence. It was concluded that Pestalozzi's pedagogical proposal contains some current approaches that can contribute to possible ways of addressing the educational sphere derived from the political discourse on the New Mexican School.

The purpose of compensation measures is to offset the environmental impacts caused by the installation of projects, allowing for environmental protection and at the same time the sustainability of economic development. Given the relevance of the subject, the article addresses the legal nature and applicability of Environmental Compensation, which is a type of compensatory measure provided for in the Brazilian environmental legal system, relating it to the Principle of the Socio-environmental Function of Property.

This book analyses the genealogy of the repeal of the collective participation of workers in the Chilean trade union model, the true centre of the reform imposed by the dictatorship in the Chilean Labour Plan, its survival in an individualistic key in the current Labour Code (article 42 letters d) and e)), all with an adequate contextualisation in various historical sources, to allow a better assessment of this legal-labour institution.

Society today has sought various ways to solve the various crises it faces. However, from a faith perspective, it requires a practice that goes beyond ritualism and integrates it into a way of life that leads to constant reflection and the search for the common good, aspects that can only be interpreted through the steps of the sacrament of Reconciliation. Only a heart disposed to introspection and the promotion of truth can find in this method an integral liberation.

A monographic work carried out through bibliographical research with the aim of analysing the current effectiveness of two constitutional tax principles, namely the principle of contributory capacity and the principle of non-confiscation, in the face of the tax burden borne by Brazilian taxpayers today. After analysing the position occupied by the constitutional provisions referring to the aforementioned principles, it can be seen that both do not have the immediate effectiveness they should have. The realisation of the normative force present in the provisions studied must be promoted through the actions of the Judiciary.

A strategy is presented to be implemented by an employed natural person, acquiring good debt to invest in real estate that is leased and financial instruments that increase profitability over time in order to be applied through the alternatives offered by the Chilean market, for which part of the concepts developed by Robert Kiyosaki, author of the Best Seller of Management, Rich Dad Poor Dad and by Warren Buffett, who in 2016 was nominated as the third richest man in the world, are used. "From birth to death man lives as a member of a society, and to live in society is to be under the influence of a large number of social factors. The central characteristic of a society is an organised collectivity of people who act towards each other, whose activities are centred around a common set of goals and who tend to share collective beliefs, attitudes and behaviour. The first words of this paragraph define an essential aspect of human beings: their being with and for each other.

Aby Warburg (Hamburg, 1866-1929), who began his multidisciplinary research as an art historian, is a major figure of the first half of the 20th century. With him, the humanities and the so-called "cultural sciences" reached the dimension of a utopian project. Despite the famous Institute in London that bears his name and houses his archives, his scientific and intellectual legacy lay dormant for more than half a century (partly due to the difficulties in receiving and transmitting his work), but in recent years there has been a Warburgian "renaissance", with clearly visible effects both in the discipline of Art History and in the conception of the History of Culture. This work focuses mainly on some aspects of Aby Warburg's life, firstly his personal biographical journey, which will determine the conduct of his theoretical research and his methodological and conceptual contributions to a different understanding of the historicity of art.

Salt gradient energy (GSE) can be harnessed by the mixing of two water masses with different salt concentrations. River mouths are systems where this energy can be obtained since they offer a large amount of water resources and water masses with different salinity. Previous studies show that 23.6 TWh/a can be extracted from the mouth of the Magdalena River; however, this estimate needs to be refined due to the inter-annual and intra-annual variability of the salt wedge, as changes in NaCl concentration affect the net EGS potential; in addition, energy costs for transportation to the plant must be considered. The effect of salt wedge variability for EGS utilization was studied using simulation results from the MOHID hydrodynamic model. This study presents how to optimize the specific potential (SSP) of EGS. The ecological flow for the mouth of the Magdalena River, the design flow for the EGS generation plant and the extraction factor are also established.

The Federal Constitution (1988) materialised social rights after several years of dictatorship. However, it is still not possible to guarantee the full fulfilment of these rights, as this requires a high cost, and there is also a lack of capacity on the part of the executive branch to manage public money. As a result, the intervention of the Judiciary in cases where the law is not being complied with has become a constant, especially in the area of health. The main discussion in this paper is the constitutionality of this issue, given the principle of the separation of the three powers of the state, and its interference in guaranteeing social rights, especially with regard to health.

This work was carried out to obtain knowledge of the way of life of female adolescence and prostitution in the Pacific of Mexico through qualitative methodology, and to obtain the degree of Doctorate in Public Health Sciences, with direction towards public policies and health care to vulnerable groups that develop in different areas of life. A holopragmatic methodology of social balance for the development of management practices of continuous improvement and social responsibility from agricultural producers, facilitates the realization of a new way of approaching the agricultural activity, with business criteria and management parameters that seek to provide practical solutions to production problems.

Virtual reality technologies (VR technologies) are the key to a fundamentally new level of human interaction with the digital world, which plays an increasing role in the global economy, politics, and social relations. Currently, VR technologies have received the most serious development in the entertainment and marketing markets, but this is not the limit, but only the first stage of their implementation. The most promising in terms of economic effect are products based on VR technologies in education, healthcare, industrial production, consumer services. Widespread introduction of VR technologies contributes to the development of national economies, a significant increase in productivity and efficiency at industrial enterprises within the framework of Industry 4.0, the formation of new approaches to the learning process and improvement of the level of education.

This book is the result of studies by researchers from a wide range of backgrounds on the phenomenon of religion and its implications for human society. The aim of this book is to bring together academic texts from an interdisciplinary perspective on emerging issues in the study of religions. Manual de Metodología de la investigación Educativa is a book written with a definite intention: to help teachers and students how to conduct research on problems of teaching and learning processes in different educational institutions. It contains applications and examples that make it useful for any social science. It is a text that deals with the non-experimental, quantitative and qualitative approaches. It covers from the notion of the research idea and the development of the theoretical framework to the formulation of hypotheses, the choice of the research design, the elaboration of the data collection instrument and the research report. It also includes a chapter on statistical analysis and another on sampling.

Hans Jonas was a German philosopher who questioned the way man uses scientific knowledge and technology. His philosophical analysis culminated in the work 'The Responsibility Principle, an essay in ethics for technological civilisation' (1979), in which he addresses three main themes: criticism of traditional ethics, the use of technology and scientific knowledge, and the heuristic of fear. The discussion presents the principle of responsibility in the form of a new imperative: 'act in such a way that the effects of your action are compatible with the permanence of authentic human life on Earth'. The global environmental crisis, unbridled consumption and the indiscriminate exploitation of natural resources make Jonah's presuppositions relevant and topical, and they have been recognised in various areas. In this work we seek to identify the influence and importance of Jonas' thinking in order to highlight the urgency of building new behaviours (in individual actions) and new paradigms (in collective actions), so that the biosphere is treated with dignity, and so that those to come have the right to enjoy it as the current generation does.

The environmental issue has taken a lot of strength in recent years, we are in an era where the damage that humanity has done to the planet is becoming more noticeable. However, a large part of the population has begun to become aware and take action on this issue to begin to minimize the repercussions we have created. Costa Rica in particular wants to become a carbon neutral country within a few years so this research topic seemed very relevant to the current national reality. Similarly, the dental profession is quite large in our country, so it could be an important brake if they do not take appropriate measures on environmental education and how to bring their dental clinics to a greener practice as traditional dentistry is highly polluting. One of the most important points in the research was to know what was stopping dentists from starting the journey towards a more environmentally friendly profession and to review the most polluting areas and materials as well as ecological solutions.

Despite significant progress in the treatment of peritonitis, the rates of postoperative mortality continue to remain high. In 90-95% of cases, mortality is somehow associated with endogenous intoxication, which is the cause of the development of multi-organ and multisystem failure in these patients. Optimization, pathogenetic substantiation and improvement of methods of extra- and intracorporeal correction during operations and postoperative management of severe peritonitis taking into account the violation of detoxification function of the lungs become a vital necessity and represent an urgent task for modern anesthesiology and surgery, requiring new scientifically based solutions, and detailed clarification of the above-mentioned issues will improve methods of prediction, early diagnosis of these complications and will contribute to the development of a more effective treatment of these complications.

The manual considers the lexicon of the Russian language from the point of view of origin and issues of borrowing, in particular, exotic vocabulary. The ways of penetration and processes of adaptation of exotic vocabulary in the Russian language are traced. Special attention is paid to practical tasks. The manual is intended for undergraduate and graduate students of philological specialties and is aimed at consolidating and deepening knowledge in the field of lexicology of the Russian language.

At a time when the "Golden Jubilee" (50 years) of the Madeira Classical Orchestra Association [AOCM] has been completed, it seemed important to us to mark this milestone of longevity through a historical/sociological incursion into its foundation and organisational evolution. In this brief note, our main concern is to analyse the organisational impact, but also the behaviour and functioning of those who have been part of the Association's social bodies; as well as to detect in the AOCM, as sometimes in other social organisations, characteristics for which conditions of adaptation and systemic evolution have manifested themselves throughout its history.

A stagnation in global average annual wheat yields has been observed, mainly generated through commercial varieties developed by conventional breeding (Lin & Huybers, 2012). There is a need to detect variability for several traits, including the duration of phenological phases, in order to obtain wheat adapted to different agro-ecological zones and disease resistance. In this project, the phenotypic evaluation of these traits will be carried out, which in a later stage will be associated with molecular markers, since the population to be used has already been mapped in order to obtain QTL that will allow marker-assisted selection in the breeding of new cultivars.

Mobile money in Africa" is a book celebrating the revolutionary invention of mobile money in Kenya in 2007. This simple but powerful tool has promoted financial inclusion and improved the standard of living of the African population. The book explores the many issues surrounding mobile money, such as its potential as a monetary standard, the use of mobile phones as mobile banks, secure transactions, interoperability and the emergence of a digital financial ecosystem. The author also examines the mobile money development strategies implemented by the various stakeholders, such as the population, public authorities, banks, insurance companies, ICT players and the private commercial sector. A collaborative approach is proposed, involving banks and mobile operators, to maximise the benefits of mobile money. Finally, the book presents a case study on Côte d'Ivoire, a regional leader in mobile money in West Africa.

This paper answers an essential question: What is the socio-historical, economic, political, social and cultural process that the demarcation of study goes through and that allows us to explore, describe, explain and understand its transformation from a peripheral locality to a magical centrality? The answer to this question lies in the documents of the municipality, the discourses of its inhabitants, the perceptions of its migrants, the policies of its authorities and the strategies of its merchants.
