The discussion of the central categories of this work, governance and sustainability, is necessary in the context of the installation of large projects seen by the government as a development model. It raises questions about environmental licensing processes and the involvement of affected communities. Who is this development for? Are there possibilities for building sustainability? What are the interests of the actors? How and who makes the decisions that affect the communities? The book, which originated from a doctoral thesis, articulates the themes of participation, democracy, governance and sustainability. It dialogues with various authors and interviewees, seeking to understand the vulnerabilities of environmental licensing under the theoretical framework of public participation and governance for sustainability. The study focuses on the participatory dynamics of environmental licensing for large projects installed in geographically significant areas, and the socio-environmental transformations that occur in the territory where these projects are installed under the aegis of sustainability.

Inguinal hernias represent a challenge for general surgeons, mainly due to their high rate of recurrence and surgical complications. Various techniques and prostheses have been created since the 19th century with Bassini in Italy. This study shows the surgical technique of using the hernia sac as a wall reinforcement in indirect inguinal hernias. The peritoneal tissue removed at the time of surgery has great resistance and local fibrosis with a very low recurrence rate and no rejection due to the fact that it is the patient's own tissue. It is worth using the hernia sac to reinforce the wall of indirect inguinal hernias.

Feed mixing is of fundamental importance in the industry, because if it is not well mixed, the animals may not enjoy all the benefits it provides when they feed. Tests must therefore be carried out to assess whether the mixing process is adequate, and how much a mixer can mix in the shortest possible time in order to be more efficient, generating less costs and increasing productivity. This study was carried out in a feed mill with the aim of increasing the size of the feed mix from 800 kg to 900 kg and reducing the mixing time from 4 minutes to 3 minutes, increasing productivity without losing the quality of the mix. For this test, Microtracers® was used, an analytical marker that serves to validate the feed mix as well as to assess cross-contamination between one beat and the next.

In the classrooms there are people between 40 and 65 years old, people who are looking for progress, job and professional growth. These people, who have stopped studying for some years, sometimes find it difficult to use the computer, new programs, platforms, networks or formats that are currently so common in the classroom. That is why educational institutions are increasingly putting within our reach different ways to study, such as school classes, semi-school classes, virtual classes, etc. and with costs accessible to all.

The aim of this study is to analyse the Ministro Marcos Freire Municipal School in terms of its administrative, structural and pedagogical aspects, relating it to the school community. To this end, a case study was carried out, in which a bibliographical appraisal was first developed, pertinent to the object of study, i.e. the school. The theoretical framework served as an analytical basis for the research, as well as for the methodological procedures of the observations linked to the school experience. The institution was then visited in order to assess the reality of the school, its community and its administrative and pedagogical management. Based on this situation, the pillars that structure a school (Management, Teachers, Structure, PPP and the School Community) were assessed, using theoretical support at the same time. Based on the data collected, various aspects were observed, including: the objective, philosophy, partnerships, among others. Thus, it was found that the Pedagogical Political Project is well structured and the school is open to all types of school projects and partnerships.

The cueca, the only legally recognised national dance in Chile, has remained in Chilean territory for more than 150 years. Although there is a diversity of styles throughout the country, nowadays the "cueca huasa" variant is almost exclusively taught in schools and is becoming less and less popular. On the other hand, the so-called "cueca urbana", since the year 2000, has re-emerged in contemporary socio-festive spaces; however, despite being a dance of free expression, the homogenisation of gestures and movements in the dancers is observed. In this context, the question arises for the author: how is the teaching-learning process of the cueca urbana implemented at present? The "Urban Cueca Workshop" is based on this question. Here, the contributions of the Theory of Multiple Intelligences are integrated with the perspective of Dance Movement Therapy and Chilean Folklore, in order to promote meaningful learning and dance based on one's own corporeality.

The objective of this research is to understand the effects of precarious working conditions on the health of agricultural workers, specifically Peruvian immigrants in the Azapa Valley in the region of Arica and Parinacota in the extreme north of Chile. The purpose of this study was to describe the frequent health problems they present and how they solve them. This is a descriptive-exploratory qualitative research. The unit of observation was the Peruvian seasonal agricultural workers in a tomato packing house, for data collection the techniques of participant observation and semi-structured interviews were used.

Foreign policy is made up of the actions, objectives and decisions of the State in relation to its relations outside its borders. Its analysis requires the study of its development, orientation and execution at international, national and governmental levels.Climate change, a true global challenge, undermines and threatens to undermine Canada's ability to ensure its security and stability. This book aims to show the different ways in which historical narratives can be structured to satisfy the need for a practical instrument of reading (narrative), consultation (historiography) and analysis (historical awareness) in a single volume that induces the knowledge of the insurgent process in Mexico through the classic authors who saw it emerge, develop and culminate. In this sense, the objective of this volume is threefold: basically expository (narrative part); eminently apprehensive (historiographic part) and ideally comprehensive (didactic part). In short: to talk about history as narration, through the historians who lived it as testimony, to understand how they approached their object of study as a method and to encourage the reader to form his or her own opinion about the characters, facts and processes so that he or she may form his or her own opinion. In other words: attract attention (narrative structure), focus attention (historiographic structure) and feed attention (structure of historical consciousness).

The Educational Pair Test is a graphic test that has been gaining importance for its diagnostic and prognostic value. However, descriptions of this graphic technique are usually brief. Therefore, this text is intended to be useful as specific knowledge and at the same time complementary to other more extensive texts about the Projective Graphic Tests. Here, the author clearly transmits her vast professional experience and invites us to make an exhaustive and enjoyable journey through the history, theory and practice of the Educational Couple Test. To do so, she establishes three axes: the study of the test itself, the mental and social representations of learning and teaching that can be manifested in it, and the research in which it is involved. In addition, he shows and exemplifies, with various illustrations and cases, the different ways of analyzing the data in its qualitative and quantitative aspects; alluding to its dual purpose both in diagnostic and educational research. Thus, his work is oriented both for students and professionals of Psychology, Psychodiagnosis, Educational Psychology and Psychopedagogy.

The climacteric is also defined as a process of physical and emotional transition from middle age to old age for both men and women, however, in this study we will use the meaning of climacteric as the passage of women from the reproductive phase to the non-reproductive phase, triggering a variety of symptoms. The study consists of a bibliographical survey, considering the work of a multi-professional team with women in the climacteric period, with a greater focus on the work of physiotherapists in this stage. The study clearly and objectively presents a discussion of the physiotherapeutic techniques most commonly used in climacteric women, as well as their effectiveness and forms of applicability, with the aim of preventing signs and symptoms and treating existing ones, such as urinary incontinence, sweating, hot flushes, sexual disorders, cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis and emotional disorders such as depression and anxiety, which can lead to hormonal, physical and psychological dysfunctions that can interfere with quality of life.

This book follows on from "As Portas de Dante", published by MGI (Lisbon) and Revan (Rio de Janeiro). It deals with a less than encouraging view of the international situation, which, for various objective reasons, is heading towards a situation of convergent polycentric collapse. The end of the Cold War, instead of bringing the dream of "eternal peace", has paved the way for an era of disordered globalisation that has resurrected ghosts that were supposed to be dead. Far from a new horizon of appeasement, there is an increasingly clear horizon of generalised destruction.

Travelling thought sets out on a journey as a research experience. It begins by developing the idea with a view to research, an idea that becomes condensed as an epistemic concept to the extent that it imagines it as an object to be understood via the design of a research project. With sociology and anthropology as companions on the inquisitive journey, he psychoanalyses the observer and the observed in order not to destroy the data, and proposes multidisciplinary support. When he opens the theory to the practice of expository realisation, the travelling thought acquires the face of poetic, creative thought. When walking with itself in order to explain itself and the world, it has to clarify the subject, to specify the problem to be investigated and its demand for a conceptual solution. This is guaranteed if he constructs well (ethics) the paradigmatic model and gives an account of it in the making of the way (method) with rigorous argument. The various narratives involve different literary genres: the slow inquiry (analysis) is followed by the quick demonstrative conclusion (understanding). In short, the research project is thought of as a problem of explanation and is placed before the researcher to guide his scientific action.

The formative processes within the framework of a critical education, of opposition, of resistance, are called to discuss the debate that must be generated when training for acceptance, prescription and obedience, which, in essence, would be training for the perpetuation and incarnation of the ideas that dominate us. On the contrary, training for resistance allows us to find a way out of a world that does not have to be like this. In this sense, we are motivated to reflect on an education with critical-reflective principles, in which the human being is recognized, above all, as a subject in constant search of fulfillment. Therefore, we invite to work for the smallest actions of the institutional life of schools, universities, study and training centers, with the purpose of permanently problematizing other possible alternatives of the world of life and, at the same time, the dynamics and daily processes.

Rural tourism is a complementary activity to the main production of the property, which adds value to it, promoting income, while at the same time rescuing the cultural and natural heritage, thus aiming for sustainability. This work proposes the implementation of a rural itinerary for the municipalities that make up the Espelho d'Água Circuit in north-western São Paulo, with the tourist resort of Santa Fé do Sul as its centre. The research showed that some of the small rural properties in this micro-region constitute a tourist offer, as they have natural and cultural resources that, if formatted, could make up the rural tourism product of the municipalities in question, adding value to the properties. Tourism can rescue and enhance socio-cultural heritage, keeping people in the countryside and attracting visitors from various cities to return to their roots. It can also enhance the north-western region of São Paulo, placing it on the tourism routes of the state of São Paulo.

The purpose of this book is to highlight the psychological concepts of Alfred Adler, creator of Individual Psychology, with a holistic and teleological orientation. Also, to contribute, by extending Adler's principles, with regard to the Sense of Inferiority, Compensation, the Will to Power or Superiority or Overcoming, Behaviour towards the useful or useless side, Education and Community Sentiment, Vulnerability and Resilience. Birth order. Adler pointed out that mistakes in education, the goal, the life style that is created in childhood must be corrected and behaviour must be directed towards the useful side of life, which is towards social co-operation and community feeling. Individual psychology is aimed at parents, educators, teachers, psychotherapists, psycho-pedagogues, psychiatrists, to improve the quality of life, prevention, promotion, protection of mental health, individual, community and to avoid psychopathological disorders in children, adolescents and the family.

The aim of this study is to assess user satisfaction with the services provided by the AFIA KATINDO health center, and consequently the quality of care. The activities of the center have been strengthened by ULB-Cooperation's support for the health system, with the aim of improving quality and ensuring stability through the gradual introduction of a contractual subsidy system. The model tested by ULB-Cooperation could be proposed to other health facilities, hence the need to gather feedback from project beneficiaries. The study was descriptive and analytical, and led to the following results:- Health care providers are not satisfied with the support provided by their partner, as evidenced by their dissatisfaction with the planning and organization of on-the-job training, and difficulties in prescribing drugs due to frequent stock-outs.- On the other hand, users of the health center's services are more satisfied with the reception, hygiene, quality of care and affordability of treatment than they were during the periods without ULB-Coopération support.

Imagine yourself transported with me to the 4th century BC, visiting Hippocrates at his medical school on the island of Kos. There we learn how to balance food and physical and mental activity in an individualised lifestyle in order to prevent illness, as well as when it becomes necessary to use medicines and treatments. We have seen that in Kos, in a way that is unprecedented in history, religious charms and rites give way to an empirically-based medicine, based on philosophical and proto-scientific foundations. In addition to these foundations, this book emphasises the relevance of the Hippocratic doctor's human and professional attitude, based on specific ethics and rhetoric when dealing with patients, their souls and their suffering. A few decades later, Plato describes the ideal doctor inspired by Hippocrates, who dialogues and wins the patient's trust with his art, speaks in a timely manner about diagnosis and prognosis and is always reassuring. Nothing could be more timely for our times, when technology and protocol overshadow care for the patient. Even today, patients can benefit from the revalorisation of ancient concepts presented in this book, such as tekné, philanthropy, kairós, isomoiria, dietai, pharmakon.

This paper studies the benefits and edges of the payment order process and its possible inclusion in Paraguayan law; Therefore, it was decided to investigate the "General aspects of the payment order process and its incorporation in the Preliminary Draft of the General Procedural Code and in the legislation of the Republic of Paraguay", setting as a general objective to determine the feasibility of the incorporation of the payment order process in the Preliminary Draft of the General Procedural Code and in the legislation of the Republic of Paraguay, based on a study of its general aspects, and based on the hypothesis that the payment order process, complying with strict requirements, is presented as a viable alternative within the Preliminary Draft of the General Procedural Code for the Republic of Paraguay and currently in force in the Procedure for the Reparation of Damage in the criminal jurisdiction. A non-experimental methodological design was used for the research, at a legal-descriptive level and with a legalistic or dogmatic approach, resorting to immediate formal (direct) sources.

The study presented here was carried out at the University of Medical Sciences of Sancti-Spíritus from 2014 to 2017. We worked with 100 students from different stomatology promotions with the aim of contributing to the improvement of the labour development of young stomatology professionals in the province of Sancti Spiritus. The variables used were selected on the basis of several studies carried out by the Centro de Estudios para el Perfeccionamiento de la Educación Superior (CEPES). The research used theoretical, empirical and statistical-mathematical methods. The scientific result produced was endorsed by experts, who considered its relevance and introduction in the context studied.

This work aims to verify the feasibility of using the GeoGebra educational software in Vocational Education Integrated with Basic Education in the Youth and Adult Education Modality, surveying the possibilities of applying it in the classroom and showing how this resource involves the continuous and growing mastery of the technologies present in the school. This material is used as an instrument to carry out pedagogical work on the construction of knowledge, interpretation and application. The methodology used was bibliographical research and field research in which questionnaires were administered to the Course Coordinator, the Maths teacher and fourteen students, all from the Technical Nursing Course at an educational institution in the municipality of Cornélio Procópio/PR. The field research shows that it is possible to use this software as long as both the teacher and the students are involved.

The following educational product is the result of research aimed at investigating the teaching and learning process in the formation of scientific concepts based on Vygotskian perceptions. This material serves as support for science and health professionals to address important issues of persistent diseases in society. The activities presented in this book are the most varied and can be used sequentially as presented in the product, or individually according to the teacher's planning.

The rate of Adverse Events (AE) in hospitals has been estimated at between 4 and 17%, of which around 50% have been considered avoidable. Given this approach, which is not unknown, it is worth questioning whether the incorporation of clinical practice variability into the factors of this equation would significantly alter the outcome (economic, in terms of health and quality of care). We are aware of the sensitivities that can arise in a group such as the medical profession when dealing with issues related to clinical practice. This paper does not attempt to analyse clinical practice from a medical point of view, but rather to objectively assess whether this would have a significant impact on the hospital budget. Nor does it attempt to assess the impact of such unexplained variability. It could be a starting point to promote the most efficient clinical protocol/guideline and to introduce benchmarking between different departments of the same hospital that treat the same pathology (different departments see the same pathology, a frequent occurrence in multi-pathological or elderly patients that can be attributed indistinctly to one or another department).

The intensive development of the tourist industry for more than 30 years on Cancun's beach has caused significant alterations in the functioning of this natural ecosystem. Its geographical location in a frequent hurricane transit zone constitutes an additional threat. The presence of an erosive process, which degrades its aesthetic values and its conditions of use, has led to the implementation of two artificial sand nourishment campaigns to mitigate the effects of this process. The general objective of this research is: "To assess the natural recovery processes of beaches and the effect of artificial regeneration on the system in order to optimise engineering actions on beaches with low sediment input". The results obtained indicate that the erosive process identified is irreversible under current conditions and that artificial sand nourishment is the best option to mitigate the effects of this process. To increase the effectiveness of artificial sand nourishment projects in the future, modifications to their design and implementation are proposed.

Building automation is undoubtedly one of the ways to guarantee the quality of your services. In Brazil, building automation gained ground in the 1990s, along with computers, which made it possible to combine supervision and control effectively. Building automation can be defined as the basis for the management functions of a plant so that it can be used safely, appropriately and economically, and can also include use in a way that gives the user greater comfort.

Reflections were drawn up with a view to improving the quality of life in cities, especially high-density cities situated in a conflictual development arena where capital and man clash in the conquest of space and territory. Recognising and valuing man as the core of the capillarisation of architecture and family farming will help to resolve the environment that currently characterises the various areas of knowledge. Some examples are presented and compared to other successful ones, as well as the legal instruments that guide and standardise public policies on cities in Brazil, where the federal, state and municipal spheres have responsibilities to allocate capital for investments, manage the resources released and provide transparency to the public about what has been planned and how it is being implemented. Moving away from the paradigm of a commodity city to a human city!

Monogastric animals do not absorb the phosphorus present in oilseeds, which make up around 90 per cent of the raw material used in feed. This is due to the absence of the enzyme phytase, which helps break down phytic acid, where the phosphorus present in these seeds is stored. In order to provide sufficient amounts of phosphorus in the diet of monogastric animals, also known as non-ruminants, inorganic phosphorus is added to their feed, mainly in the form of bicalcium phosphate. In order to ensure that this element is properly metabolised in sufficient quantities, more phosphorus is added than these animals actually need, and the excess phosphorus that is not metabolised is eliminated in the faeces of the monogastric animals, causing what environmentalists call the eutrophication of rivers and lakes, which is the growth of algae, forming a thick green curtain over the surface of the water. This work deals with the production of the enzyme phytase, which should be added to monogastric animal feed to replace the use of inorganic phosphorus.

A work that provides insight into the process of pacification oriented towards prisons, with the aim of ensuring better levels of governance in public spheres. By analysing the biopsychosocial stimuli that produce aggression, it is implemented so that prisoners build a bridge of trust between themselves and prison officials. Through this study, to determine the spaces prone to situations of violence and thus to carry out a diagnosis that will lead to treatment for inmates in prison. An experience aimed at improving the mental health of its members. Pursue systems towards an orderly systematisation that characterise these phenomena of violence - aggression that occur in these spaces, through instruments that give value to the inmate and adapt to the imposed forms of government, where the individual must adjust to his or her world. With the transformation of human rights in the penitentiary environment, it is possible to transmit to society, a social reencounter of the failed man to his legitimate state through a system of government that invokes to guarantee the orders of the Rule of Law.

This research conceived Literature and Science as "sophias" whose worlds correlate, breaking with traditional paradigms about the vision of literature. The proposal consisted of bringing together two languages that are very particular due to their nature: the scientific and the humanistic. To this end, the short story "A Sign in Space" from Italo Calvino's "The Cosmicomics" was used as a paradidactic approach to the textbook. Literature was seen in the work as a vehicle for disseminating science, allowing the general public to read and understand science through literature. As a didactic activity for the classroom, the work presented a lesson planning methodology for studying literature and science together. The science analysed was astronomy, a subject studied in the physics curriculum, according to the PCN-EM. The theoretical references found in the work were based on teachers who advocate literature in the physics teaching environment. As a result, it is hoped to promote an interest in research and to show MS students that different languages can dialogue with each other.
