Much of the literature has focused on the characteristics of educational demand, what students "bring" with them to school to explain existing inequalities. However, if students' learning is strongly conditioned by their socio-economic context, how important are public policies in reducing educational inequalities? This paper aims to answer this question by analysing the case of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires based on data from the national learning assessment Aprender 2016, identifying supply-side factors that also contribute to explaining unequal learning in the Buenos Aires territory. The argument is that, while factors associated with educational demand impose constraints on learning levels, these also depend on the capacity of the state to offer and guarantee the provision of the public good of quality education with success and homogeneity throughout its territory. An analysis of the data reveals the scope for action and public responsibility in reducing inequalities.

The hypoglycemic power of cancrinite zeolites exchanged with iron (II), calcium (II) and magnesium (II) ions was evaluated in order to determine the influence of mass and contact time on glucose adsorption.Initially, cancrinite zeolites were synthesised from zeolite X, and sodium ions were exchanged for calcium, iron or magnesium. The adsorptive power of these zeolites was then evaluated in a glucose solution. In a first test, the influence of mass and exchanged cation was determined using masses between 50 and 500 mg, and in a second study, the influence of contact time on the adsorption process was determined with an initial mass of 100 mg, and times of: 15, 30, 45, 60 and 120 min. The tests concluded that an increase in mass and contact time up to 60 min favoured the adsorption of glucose, and that the zeolites exchanged with Fe(II) showed the highest adsorption of glucose with respect to the other cations. Based on the results obtained, it can be affirmed that these zeolites could represent an important alternative as a novel drug in the fight against Diabetes Mellitus.

Self-assessment as a teaching practice in the training of doctors with a community profile.History of the creation of the chair of community health.This paper is the result of the application of an analytical, critical and reflective strategy of a self-evaluation process of the teaching team of the subject Community Health. The context of the creation of the degree course in Medicine and the recently renamed Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Sciences (FCNCS) of the National University of Patagonia San Juan Bosco (UNPSJB) has been considered. For this reason, we have started from the experience of applying a self-evaluation process, taking into account, among other things, the historical account of the career from its beginnings and of the human team that teaches the subject, as well as the central constructs stipulated in the subjects that allow us to understand the particularities of the same, which moreover has a community focus in the area of health.

The OHADA law seems to be among the first to create a community law on debt collection and enforcement in French-speaking Africa.In the same way, when it comes to politics, there are regional and sub-regional organizations, and in the same way, OHADA law brings together certain countries to harmonize the law and its various procedures.The OHADA system was born of an active and ambitious political will to strengthen the legal system of states in the business world, by simplifying the legal framework and harmonizing trade in Africa.The relationship between creditor and debtor presupposes the existence of an obligation, in the legal sense of the term, i.e. a legal relationship by virtue of which the former requires the latter to give, do or refrain from doing something. This legal relationship may arise from a legal act (law, contract) or a legal fact (tort, quasi tort, quasi contract).So it seemed appropriate to talk about the impact of the PSRVE on common law procedure in the DRC.

With this new work the author seeks to awaken interest in the art of research in these times of metamodernity. Medication compliance is an important factor in the management of chronic pathologies in the elderly. Despite the increasing prevalence of these pathologies and the growing number of elderly subjects, this parameter remains underestimated and neglected. Functionality is an important parameter in the assessment of the geriatric patient, which predisposes to frailty, institutionalisation, morbidity, disability and death. The elderly patient must be assessed holistically, and for this, the best tool in our daily medical practice is the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA), whose main objective is the development of an individualised plan with a preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative approach, which guarantees adequate, effective, quality and warm medical care.The geriatric patient presents particular characteristics, different from the general adult population, so care is measured in terms of functionality, which involves physical, mental, affective, economic and socio-familial aspects. It is essential to find a reliable parameter that allows predicting patients at risk of staying longer in hospital, greater possibility of in-hospital complications and greater risk of functional loss after hospitalisation. Gait speed has been shown to be a reliable predictor of functional recovery and hospital stay.

Management as a social process has accompanied man throughout history. At the beginning of the 20th century, management began to undergo a significant development, seeking to respond to the demands of the capitalist system. As new situations appeared, theories were developed to provide answers to them and, although they did not fully resolve the situation, they created the basis for their own overcoming. From this point on, countless theories were developed. Almost all of them have been developed in highly developed capitalist countries, in order to perfect the established economic mechanism. These theories were considered at the time as paradigms of the science of management, and applied in any socioeconomic and cultural context, despite the differences it may have with the territory of origin in terms of social system, economic development, culture and idiosyncrasy. It is interesting to know how these theories have been applied in such a different environment as the Cuban business system and the results obtained.

The research was conducted from October 2016 to February 2017, with the purpose of determining the level of environmental literacy (NAA) of the students of Escuela Secundaria Técnica no. 26 de Bácum, Rio Yaqui, Sonora, in general and by environmental component, in addition, the NAA was obtained by gender and grade in which the students are enrolled. A survey designed at the Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education (WCEE), U.S.A. was used. 234 students participated, of which 123 were female (52.56%) and 111 were male (47.44%).

The role that the community must play in transforming the behaviour of those sentenced to correctional work without internment is of value for the improvement of society with a view to adequate reintegration and a reduction in recidivism. The creation of a community mobilisation methodology for the integration of these subjects into their community is very important, on the one hand, for an appropriate serving of the sanction imposed, a notable reduction in recidivism, achieving the purpose of the sentence and an adequate re-education and, on the other hand, for perfecting the methodologies of community work, especially at the present time when local solutions have political, social and economic priority.

The question of the legal and bioethical elements necessary for the good judicial practice of the High Courts is a constant in academic scenarios. One criterion for addressing this question is to take into account the importance of an enriched argumentation that reflects the Ratio Decidendi of the judgments handed down by the High Courts. In this way, the creation of a National Council of Bioethics arises as a pertinent creation, which will promote a scenario of interdisciplinary dialogue, providing the Law with new sources from which to draw. There is a need for research, scientific and academic interaction between Law and other disciplines, as Bioethics is currently taking on a relevant role in legal thinking, to the extent that it elucidates the human from the point of view of social ethics. For its part, Law is a legal discipline that listens to social signs. Introduction: Hemorrhoidal disease is a pathology with a prevalence of 2 to 5%. Although surgical treatment is a solution to most cases, it is rarely used due to the existence of many myths regarding post-surgical complications. In the Teodoro Maldonado Hospital techniques such as Milligan and Morgan, Fergunson and Parks are used in this institution, and although they have been performed for many years. This book deals with background, anatomy, epidemiology, etiology, differential diagnosis, classification, complications and surgical treatment with its different surgical techniques. It is a pathology treated in the protology service in the different hospitals of our country, and it is necessary to know the doctors in general who is the gateway to our health system.

This book is based on the master's thesis of the first author, MSc. Lisvette Cruz Camacho, based on a research related to the real communicative needs of the professionals of the Faculty of Health Technology of the University of Medical Sciences of Villa Clara, Cuba. Consequently, a program was designed for the postgraduate course in basic English aimed at strengthening the communicative skills of these teachers. Tracheobronchial suctioning is a common procedure in intensive care units, but it is essential to observe aseptic measures because of the fragility of patients. The aim of our work was to evaluate the knowledge and practices of nursing staff in terms of hospital hygiene during tracheobronchial suctioning in an anesthesia-intensive care unit. We conducted a descriptive evaluative study during the period from February 21 to April 30, 2023, and included all healthcare professionals responsible for tracheobronchial suctioning in the anesthesia-intensive care department. Our study revealed gaps in the knowledge and practices of healthcare staff during tracheobronchial suctioning in the anesthesia-intensive care department. A specific care protocol is needed to remedy these problems and ensure patient safety.

The implementation of education policy in Burkina Faso is currently marked by the generalization of the inclusive education (IE) approach, which consists in encouraging the admission and pedagogical support of children with disabilities (E.S.H.), in ordinary classes. While so-called "normal" children are accepted and involved in learning, this is not always the case for those suffering from deficiencies, particularly hearing-impaired children (E.D.A.). The aim of our research is to measure the impact of teachers' pedagogical practices in classrooms for children with hearing impairments. We start from the hypothesis that the pedagogical practices used in ordinary schools for children with hearing impairments are not conducive to their inclusion in school. The results of the data collected invalidate our hypotheses, as the vast majority of teachers and students make multiple efforts to involve EDA in learning activities. However, shortcomings were identified, and suggestions were made to all stakeholders for improving the inclusion of ADE in schools.

Kolwezi is home to a number of housing concessions, which eventually became mining sites. This book sets out to identify the possible links between the psychosocial dimensions of poverty and the main Conditional Cash Transfer Programmes (CCTPs) in Latin America. The main idea stems from the idea that poverty should not be understood and measured solely from a monetary perspective, but is in fact a complex phenomenon that involves the feelings, experiences and perceptions of poor people. In this way, poverty takes on a subjective aspect that involves psychosocial dimensions, such as autonomy, empowerment, social exclusion, feelings of shame and humiliation, among others. Methodologically, this paper carries out a bibliographical review, searching the literature for concepts and theoretical discussions related to the subjective dimensions of poverty and its psychosocial aspects. Starting from the initial conceptualisations, it analyses Conditional Cash Transfer programmes implemented in Latin America, with the aim of finding evidence of attention to the psychosocial aspects of poverty or its effects on less tangible dimensions (such as autonomy, empowerment, etc.).

The authors of this research carry out a theoretical review of the most relevant aspects that contribute to a new research perspective oriented towards students and their challenges in the use of educational applications in the field of technologies for a private university in the state of Jalisco (University X). The need to identify and define the characteristics and qualities of the students where the incorporation of educational software is proposed from the university didactic strategies for the improvement of teaching by means of technical activities that allow the development of competences in the student. The research is developed with an orientation in the quantitative approach with a methodical, practical and critical process of inquiry. Therefore, it is important to think and establish patterns for the intervention of didactic strategies in student activity using educational applications as a distinctive element.
