There are many books and articles written on how to reconcile. They offer information as to how the broken parent should speak to promote healing. But what if your adult child refuses to engage? The alternative option is to move on and let go. But healing the wound of adult child estrangement is messy and complicated. There are good days and bad. Christine shares the reality of the work it takes to see the forest for the trees. This book goes deep into the life of the author, and how it feels to be silenced as a mother. It describes how she finds purpose on this path unchosen, and her gain in emotional intelligence. Readers Say: I cried my eyes out reading this because it's raw, and has huge meaning. I feel like you are writing my words in my brain. Thank you for sharing your gift of writing and giving voice to this thing called estrangement, Christine. This resonates deeply. Sad. Angry. Accepting waves of ambiguous grief. It helps to know I am not alone with these "family" issues. Hugs to all of us healing parents trying to find the coping mechanisms to get through this ugly journey. Thank you, Christine.

Employers in all sectors and in every developed country are confronted by mounting job vacancies that are impeding economic growth. The vacancies also affect government operations. The problem started a decade ago but was overlooked until the COVID crisis and the Great Resignation prompted the attention of the news media. Vacancies have averaged over 10 million a month since mid-2021. In recent unemployment reports, less than 6 million people were counted as looking for jobs. That explains the continuing high vacancy count. The vacancies are linked to two global demographic trends: fewer babies and increased longevity. The problem is also related to the shift starting decades ago from 'blue collar' jobs requiring strength and agility to knowledge jobs where skills are the keys to job performance. Knowledge workers today are fully capable of working as long as they are healthy. Professionals commonly work into their 70s.The demographic trends are also tied to the current political concern with funding Social Security. Those benefits are "pay-as-you-go" with current benefits funded by active workers. With increased numbers of retirees living longer, projections show the FICA taxes will be inadequate to pay the benefits by 2035. A deeply entrenched problem in the world's youth-oriented society is ageism. That is treating older people differently from others based on assumptions or stereotypes related to their age. It influences employment, cultural settings, and politics. Research shows the assumptions are not valid, but too often employers rely on stereotypes and deny older workers training and promotion opportunities. Work cultures are too often unhealthy. The negative effects of ageism have been the focus of critical reports from the UN, the OECD, and the World Economic Forum. It's a global problem. A McKinsey study found the annual costs are in the billions. In the first year of the pandemic, hundreds of thousands of older workers were laid off and

It is an alchemy turning human trauma into soul growth.Continuing from her prior book, Finding Purpose: Surprising Wisdom from the Higher Self, Holly shares more wisdom from the Higher Self. What if you could better understand yourself? What if you could do one better and understand how your personal psychology affects society on a global scale? What if, because of that, you could change the world?Societal Codependency: Subconsciously Driven Human Behavior and the State of World Society points the way. When author Gerald Radlauer, MD, went on a medical mission in Kenya in 2005, he was shocked not by the poverty-which he had been expecting to witness-but by the abject poverty in the face of the country's abundance of natural resources, agreeable climate, and trillions of dollars in financial aid. As he wondered why this was, he developed a theory: colonialism and the slave trade created generational trauma that continues today. Such impoverished mindsets exist around the world, often manipulated by societal rulers to maintain the status quo: this can be called "societal codependency." Radlauer's book defines codependency, identifies characteristics of codependency on personal and societal levels, and describes the consequences of widespread societal codependent sentiment. Helpfully, Radlauer concludes with an alternative collective way of being based on expression of our individual authentic selves as an advocate for selves personally as well as the greater society at large. Both brutally honest and inspiring, Societal Codependency offers not policy solutions but perhaps something that is, ultimately, both stronger and longer lasting: world-issue solutions based on our underlying subconsciously derived thought processes and subsequent outward expression.

Being Catholic. Are you:¿A cradle Catholic born into the faith and a regular participant in Sunday Worship yet unable to defend your faith?¿A lukewarm, pew Catholic going through the motions?¿An inactive Catholic, believing but barely attending Mass except for Easter and Christmas, weddings and funerals?¿A Fallen Away Catholic, angry at the Church for a slight, real or otherwise? ¿A Catholic who has left the Church to enter into another religious affiliation because Mass was boring?¿A new Catholic, wondering if you fully understand what you have professed?¿Thinking about becoming Catholic but not sure if you can accept or live with what the Church teaches? ¿An intentional Catholic, openly living and sharing the joy, doctrine and dogma of the Church that has endured for centuries. There are over a billion Catholics in the world. How many Catholics actually live and love their faith may be in question but those who are intentionally Catholic are united every day in the struggle to live and understand the teachings and traditions instilled in this universal identity since Jesus Christ first appeared on the scene. Some have died for the faith and others walk away when called to defend it. Some identify with the crucified Christ and others with the resurrected Christ. Some deem obedience the crucial element needed to be true, while others consider love to be essential in the teachings of the Catholic faith. Many spend their whole lives devoted to the Church answering when called to serve, supporting the Church in all her needs, savoring the joys that can be found therein.Whoever you are, Ms. Scoyola invites you to enter into her experience of thirty plus years in the service of the Church. She returned to the faith after an absence of twenty years, guilty but repentant and found reconciliation and redemption. In her years of serving in several parishes of the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston in Texas, she directed the formation of hundred

"Do you know where you will spend Eternity?Where will you go when your earthly life ends? Where you go depends on what you do now. Why is thatso? Because after death the only laws and ways that matter are God's, and how well we tried to live by them.God wants everyone with Him, but unfortunately, not all will make it. Are you going to eventually make it to Heaven or not? This is unknown. Anyone can change for the better or worse until he or she passes away.If you're a Christian and think that "all I need is to believe in Jesus and do nothing more", then you are quitemistaken. This is because God the Son came and for all. With that said, does God owe us anything? But how well we live by His rules shows God that we want to live with Him forever in Heaven. If you are an Atheist or an Agnostic and don't believe God exists or that there is any proof of His Existence, this book helps those with such thinking. You have faith, just not in God. Yet. We need faith to believethe things people say to us, whether it is a lie or truth. When God Died for us, it can be seen as though He invested in us, rather than starting over. To get to HisEternal Retirement Home we must live lives that show Him a good return on His investment in us. Askyourselves this question often: Is the way I am living a good return on God's investment in me? There willbe a need for improvement, even for the best of us. This book helps us to do just that."

Sunflower Seeds is a collection of poems and short stories that were written over the span of several years, from elementary school to high school, and has been repeatedly refined and elaborated upon over time. These pieces have been selected to serve as a compilation of memories and emotions. In particular, the titular poem "Sunflower Seeds" is about struggling with and overcoming the isolation and loneliness that comes with growing up in a new environment. At a young age, Sophie left behind the world she had always known-composed of her friends, family, and home-and moved to Canada, a strange new country she had never even heard of. While she struggled at first to communicate verbally with new classmates and teachers, she never stopped writing. In these pieces, one can feel her initial fears and attempts at finding consolation in writing. One can also see her gradual growth as an individual and eventual satisfaction with her new home. Essentially, Sunflower Seeds seeks to capture all the peaks and valleys of adolescence.

In the beginning when I first started writing the Chef's Corner stories, articles, and memories, I included a recipe with each and every story. Over the years that has added up to over 200 recipes. In The Ramblings of an Old Man, Book 1, I included the original recipe attached to each story published. In Book 2; however, I wanted to increase the number of stories so I decided to print only one of my favorite recipes for each month.
