I had an opportunity to establish a Lowry quantitative histochemical laboratory at the Missouri Medical School Missouri Institute of Psychiatry (MIP) in Saint Louis Missouri as an Assistant Professor. While Director of the Missouri Division of Mental Health Dr. George A. Ulett, M.D., Ph.D. established MIP to provide research into the causes of mental problems. As the neurochemistry lab director Dr. Ulett asked me to direct his allergy research program we undertook some really challenging research problems. His wife, Dr Pearl Ulett, Child Psychiatrist, was conducting food allergy and diet management studies that reversed the symptoms that got youth diagnosed with mental problems and a side benefit of loss of acne and weight gain. I coordinated a family study beginning with mine and submitted myself to a food allergy computer analyzed EEG study with spectacular findings. I also recommended a comprehensive research plan to include food allergies and various diagnosed patients versus control groups.

Many question why a God, who is so loving, would allow so much hurt to come upon so many innocent people in the world. The Bible does address this. But! It has not been understood, because of several key facts that have been over-looked throughout the years. God did not have His writers to script history in chronological order. Thus! The contents can be confusing, contradictory, and confounding. Once we learn to hear from God, He will speak to us, through the scriptures and tell us what goes where. Is it a puzzle? One may think so. Only He knows exactly where the pieces should be placed. The problem, throughout the years has been that we only listen to who we believe. But! Where did they receive their knowledge? They gleaned from others, who they trusted. Many, not wanting to hear from anyone else, have closed their minds to everyone, who is not within their circle. But! When we trust, believe and hear from God, He will direct our path to a clear understanding. Within the pages of Hidden in Plain View, are several facts that God shared with me. Open your mind by putting aside what you have been taught, and allow the Scriptures to come alive with some amazing truths. Hopefully! You will see what God wants you to see about His Love, and you will be able to erase some "religious teachings" that caused many unbelievers to continue to not believe. God's Word is true. See what has been Hidden in Plain View.

Murder, Mayhem and Whitecapping is set in northwest Georgia 1894. It is the story of two men who were attacked by a group of whitecappers, men sworn by a blood oath to protect moonshiners, remove immoral people from their communities, but most of all to protect their own. The area of northwest Georgia had a membership of 800-1000 men. Henry Worley, a whitecapper himself, turns on his brotherhood, and manages to survive the hangman's noose but a week later is shot and killed by men he once called friends. A few months later, William Roper, who has been turning in moonshiners for a profit, finds himself a target as well. He is attacked in the middle of the night by whitecappers, who shoot him and leave him for dead in an abandoned copper pit. After six days, he is rescued from the pit and eventually testifies in federal court against his attackers. The federal government would eventually charge 30+ men, many of them prominent individuals in the county, with conspiracy. These two trials, as well as subsequent pleas, would eventually lead to the demise of the whitecappers in northwest Georgia. The trials would be covered extensively by The Atlanta Constitution. It along with federal court transcripts, essays on moonshining and whitecapping, and other historical references, serve as sources for this historical, nonfiction book.

This is a small book with some thirty photographs, some beautiful, some grim. The book especially remembers and memorializes two Aiken, SC, law enforcement officers who were shot to death while doing their duty. The two died, a decade ago, from bullets to their heads. Their abrupt, unexpected deaths (and other like deaths) have placed the temper of police and policing on a short fuse. A second theme is to analyze the post-mortems on George Floyd, to see what evidence they offer for his cause of death. There is little concrete evidence in these post-mortems for an officer-inflicted cause of death. The postmortems reveal potential causes of death, all non-traumatic, such as established heart disease, and ingested Fentanyl and other drugs. George Floyd's specific cause of death, while easy to speculate upon, is not so easy to assign. It is written that philosophy is the tool one uses to debunk myth, to demystify myth to arrive at a better truth. Here is some philosophy. A third theme examines how we raise our children. The book addresses the mal effects the phenomena known as Adverse Childhood Events have on the developing child. These events are known to harm children both emotionally and physically. The mechanism of injury from such abuse is being studied and is thought by some investigators to be the inhibition of brain growth, particularly in the filling in of specific zones of gray matter.Blackbeard Island is an island of low sand and maritime forest. Accessible only by boat, it is a federal wildlife refuge on the mid-Georgia coast. Its acreage is a third of Manhattan's; its permanent population is zero. Larger, harder Manhattan has close to two million residents.

As I talk about this event that changed my life forever on December 14, 2012, in no way am I comparing myself to a hero. I was just helping the men and woman to cope with a horrid scene that would be in their hearts and minds forever. If in the minds of the hero's so in the minds of the families who sacrificed the ultimate. December 14, 2012 was a day that will live forever in my soul. I was a part of a chore of emergency personnel who had come together for an event that would not only change Connecticut but the entire world.

In the Spring of 1861 Union soldiers invaded Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia. The war was new there. But, in the volatile Trans Mississippi-West Theater the conflict was much older. Long before Fort Sumter, Unionist Jayhawkers and Confederate Bushwhackers killed with religious fervor along the Missouri-Kansas frontier and deep in the isolated Arkansas hills. Atrocities cloaked in partisan allegiance had made enemies of family and friends in a place like none other in the young nation. At war's end the wounds were deep. The blood-soaked ground was seeded with hate. The victor's anti-bellum harvest was swift and bitter: it was war by other means. Southerners left for the American West and Mexico. Some 20,000, known as Confederados, fled Reconstruction's excesses all the way to Brazil. All hated their righteous oppressors. Led by the powerful and clandestine Knights of the Golden Circle, they envisioned a new, slave-holding Southern Empire anchored in Cuba. Men from all walks of life, openly and secretly, pursued the goal. The James and Younger gangs - and others, prominent and unknown - poured stolen treasure into the cause. A new war had begun, fought until the dawn of the 20th Century by Northern victors, Southern patriots. From the Missouri Ozarks, across the American West to the jungles of Brazil, both hunted once and forever enemies to their graves. This is a story of that conflict.

Janice shows her readers how to stay in the driver's seat and not just be along for the ride. This no-nonsense book is divided into three easy-to-read sections that her reader can use at the appropriate stages of her dating life.Section I is "Dating Bootcamp." Here, Janice reveals that the secret of successful dating is to first know yourself. Before you go on a single date, you've got to "clean out your closet," which means eliminating the old, ineffective dating skills and do emotional housekeeping from past failed relationships. This is important because doing the same thing over again and expecting a different result is not only insanity but exhausting and discouraging.Section II is "The Dating Game." Now you're ready to take action: pick up the phone, get in the car, and meet the man-or men-who say they find you attractive. This section is divided into two phases: 1. The Marketing Phase. This should last one to six months. Janice cleverly explains that at the beginning of any new relationship, each person markets themselves to the other. Honest marketing of yourself must not be deceptive; it's just that you'll show your potential squeeze the best parts of yourself. She cautions against the warning signs that keep you from visiting Heartbreak Hotel in the town that never sleeps.2. The Comfort Zone. This lasts four to nine months. At this point in the game, you've been dating the same guy and you haven't seen anything that turns your stomach into a knot. The two of you have probably been having sex and you are beginning to think there is a real possibility that this may be your future husband. You have spent enough time with him that your worries and insecurities have subsided, and you are relatively comfortable that he is actually who he has appeared to be. But there could be storm clouds. Men commonly have sexual anxiety, as in, "Am I going to be stuck having sex with just this one woman for the rest of my life?" He may have an uncontrollable urge to run from your relationship, thus becoming a "dance away lover." Janice digs deep and explores topics including the four types of intimacy-intellectual, physical, sexual, and emotional-as well as how to implement a healthy boundary system to keep from becoming too enmeshed with your new flame. She also unflinchingly discusses abuse in all its forms, and how to spot the warning signs and take action.Section III is "I Think This Is My 'Boo.'" Now things are getting serious! At this point in your dating journey, you're probably visualizing how your life could look being married to the guy you've been dating for the last year. Janice guides you through this perilous phase, especially if the man seems noncommittal. She encourages the reader to ask herself some honest questions: "What is it about this relationship that makes me feel so happy? How does this fit into my value system? Do I feel confident with this person? Is he honest and trustworthy? Does this relationship encourage a broad or narrow outlook on life, friendships, values, or interest?" and much more.Personal finance becomes an issue, too. Janice advises that before you get married, you each have full disclosure financially-income, savings, investments, debt, even the past five years of income tax returns. Each person needs to be fully aware of where their partner is financially.Conflict resolution becomes important. When two people spend a lot of time together, it is inevitable that there will be an occasional disagreement or argument. Janice tackles this thorny issue and provides down-to-earth tools and techniques for easing through the rough patches.

Augusta, Texas, goes inside the ropes and into the lives of the ten Masters Champions from the Lone Star State. From Ben Hogan to Ben Crenshaw to Jordan Spieth, Doug Stutsman has uncovered intimate details about how Texans have shaped the history of golf's most coveted major championship. At the 1958 Masters Tournament, a bridge dedication ceremony was held to honor Hogan and his childhood rival, Byron Nelson. Augusta National co-founder Bobby Jones served as master of ceremonies, and although his health left him unable to rise, Jones announced, "We've tried to dedicate these bridges to two men who have meant as much to this tournament as any two men ever have." Nelson was the first Texan to taste triumph at the fourth annual Masters, while nine others-most recently Scottie Scheffler in 2022-have followed the trail that Lord Byron paved. Ten winners; fifteen jackets. More than any other state. More than any foreign country. Moments after capturing the 1984 Masters, Ben Crenshaw called Brent "Bubs" Buckman, his roommate from the University of Texas."What was that like?" Buckman asked. "Walking up eighteen, knowing you had won the Masters." "Bubs," Crenshaw said. "The hair on the back of my neck stood straight up." Nearly forty years later, Stutsman asked Crenshaw to reflect on his first win at Augusta National. "The hair on my neck is still standing straight up," Gentle Ben said.
