The populous people of Bokoko form the most dominant maritime coastal dwellers of Docoland. There, in the abyssal most depths of the boundless, whispering ocean around them, some strongly believe, dwelleth the entire hierarchical firmament of their gods, goddesses, deities, nymphs, and other immortals. Some say according to the idyllic allegory of the people along this massive belt, that during the tempestuous upwelling and swelling high tides, some of these immortal beings, at times emerged in human form from their endless ocean. They got associated with the locals and married mostly the adorable daughters and sons of Bokoko thus producing land nymphs, generally but locally referred to as, "Iban-ndem". They are known to be avid travelers who all possess sugar coated tongues. In their vagrant existence, they inter-related with humans of foreign and far afield pangaea. In that mix, most got married and spread everywhere around the globe as infectiously charming, and captivating wandering stars. By happenstance, some of the luscious peripatetic nymphs, easily recognized Yakmbado, the popular youthful vivacious royal, who also hailed from that ancient city of Bokoko. Four such nymphs readily and independently got attached to him, and each had a real unique time, live encounter with Yakmbado.Eventually, the williwaw and other tempestuous onslaughts had come and quietened. I said; "I'm matching this hair up to what's left of your beard! If I find out this is your BALL hair I'm going to cut you with this hairy razor!!"

He's scared, and on the run, A FUGITVE. His path of escape takes him on an odyssey-like journey, where along the way he meets people who reveal to him their own struggles for survival. While all the while keeping his own ordeal secret, for fear that revealing such will let the hunters find him. After moving around from city to city, he finally gets to a place where he feels safe. But then fate seeks him out and sends another threat to attack him. But this time he's in no position to run away. This time he must engage the enemy directly, face to face, win or lose.

Many contemporary forms of dance express personal, political, or social commentary, but without the direct communication of words, how can we understand? ChoreoGraphics: Six Studies follows seven dance artists, as they build new work, with photographs and conversations. It provides an opportunity to heighten the reader's aptitude for 'reading' dance by explaining, not only the ideas that gave rise to these works, but also the techniques the choreographers use. These six choreographic studies serve to enhance the reader's literacy in reading movement. Each chapter is devoted to a specific choreographer and her/his individual approach to communicating powerful ideas through dance. These themes span race, sexuality, love, relationships, cultural markers. Some are specifically focused on one aspect; others are intersectional. Alexandra Beller mined the effort she observed when her 11 month old son struggled to find the elusive balance he needed to walk and to learn to navigate space and gravity. His need to accomplish this was nothing short of survival for him. Beller explored that intensity in milkdreams. When Janis Brenner visited Bosnia as a guest artist, she led a workshop that included artists from both sides of the religious and cultural divide. She found inspiration for Once You Are Not A Stranger as she observed the growing trust among these dispirit groups. Marjani Forté-Saunders saw the magical unicorn as a metaphor for the black male in our culture: the imaginary unicorn became the embodiment of his vulnerabilities and strengths in her powerful solo, Memoirs of a...Unicorn. Colleen Thomas began her work about women's issues only to realize how often they intersect with those for men of color.
