Following the Civil War, a cauldron of conflict existed along the Oregon trail. Then add in a forbidden love affair, challenging the accepted norms of the people and the time. A white female southern plantation owner along with a run-away black slave share love and passion while journeying west seeking a new life together. From their covered wagon they experienced the thrill of seeing a massive herd of Buffalo appearing to stretch to the far horizon. At Fort Lincoln, Kansas, they encountered friendly Indians while learning something of the Native culture. Further along they encounter hostile Crow Indians who threaten their very lives. This then is a true slice of American history and of the settlement and maturing of our nation.

Pavel Javornicky was born in 1932 in Prague, Czech Republic, which, at the time of his birth, was called Czechoslovakia. He earned his doctorate in biology at Caroline University in Prague and subsequently worked as a scientist at the Academy of Science in Prague. He spent one year at the University of California in Davis, where he worked with a team of scientists in the department of hydro-biology. Later in his life he became a pastor of the Evangelical Church "Církev Bratrská" (The Church of the Czech Brethren). He worked in that capacity till his retirement.He is the author of several books published in the Czech republic: Written in the Dust and The Resonant Stories (co-authored with his wife, Viera,) and treatise where he deals with the problem of science and Christian belief, Faith and Science Are Not in Conflict.

It all started with a dream... and as this dream is unfolding, we are far from done. Later, Tink discovers something about herself and what she is capable of. Tommy is... different. What will become of him? Lorenzo discovers how powerful magic can be. One more room in the vault is opened; the first reveal is quite a surprise, but the second one is shocking, at best. We digress to Franti¿ka's past, before Demonica existed. We find out how she raised her first-born child, how her relationship with Ludv¿k began, how she and Josef became involved, and why Demonica took over. And then there is Lexi... poor, secluded, isolated Lexi. We certainly get to know her quite a bit; and yet, we've only scratched the surface where she is concerned. Is she sweet and naïve, or is she a chip off the old block...? We'll just have to wait and see. Will we encounter more body swapping? Will anyone die? Will Demonica finally succeed and take over Tink's life? So many unanswered questions... Just as we imagine we know what is about to take place at the end of this book, a new character appears. Butch, as his father began calling him before he was old enough to walk, was just a simple country boy, living a simple country life in western North Carolina during the early 1950's. Just when it appeared all hope was lost and the boy would never be able to resume a normal childhood, a little puppy mysteriously enters his life and, suddenly, everything is changed. What transpires afterward, is a series of astounding and miraculous events that defy logic and understanding, until the dog, just as mysteriously, departs.
