The privilege of writing an autobiography is usually reserved for the famous or infamous. Now, an expert in life stories turns his focus to his own story. The author connects his personal life with relevant aspects of the history of Italian Americans in the U.S. and his Italian ancestry. By combining genetic analysis, genealogy, and the history of southern Italy, the author builds a unique, multilevel context for his life story. This account follows events growing up in Brooklyn and his academic career teaching in programs in the U.S. and abroad. One of the first foreign teachers in the Peoples Republic of China, this distinguished educator also served as a Senior Fulbright Scholar and graduate program head in the U.S. and Turkey. This work is extensively illustrated and appends his last unpublished work on "Life Stories" as well as his doctoral student tree.

Black America: Battered Race Syndrome, expounds on the fact that it is long overdue for Black Americans to receive the respect and equality that they rightfully deserve. It also gives analogies of the tainted-negative mindset of some African Americans. It suggests ideas that''s intended to help them change their way of thinking regarding certain issues amongst the African American culture, in hopes to strengthen and build their race. It gives suggestions to Black Americans on ways to implement plans to change this constant abusive relationship with America. It sheds light on past and current treatment against African Americans, as well as the stereotypes given by other races. It also gives suggestions and information to other races on how to change their mindset regarding their negative treatment and the way they view Black Americans. In 2020 the issues of systemic racism and police brutality against African Americans was brought to the forefront of America in such a manner that was undeniable. The horrific murder of George Floyd, by a Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin, ignited a large movement amongst the African American race. The movement was geared towards seeking justice for Mr. Floyd, and other victims that were unjustly murdered by police officers. This movement was also initiated in hopes to enforce new laws that will hold all individuals accountable for their heartless and cruel behaviors of racism against others.

Colonists from a dying Earth, barely escape a rebel plot to seize their ship, the ARROW, and blast off from Luna Base for Alpha Centauri. As they lay sleeping in their suspended animation pods, a collision disables the ship and sends it careening far off course. When they awake 128 years later, they find themselves orbiting Vlor, a planet ravaged by ancient wars, where men are kept as slaves for heavy work and for breeding purposes. Punishment bands locked on their bodies keep the men helpless, unable to resist. With his ship useless, Captain MacKenzie and his crew have no choice but to submit to the women of Vlor. MacKenzie accepts slavery for himself and the male members of the crew in exchange for citizenship for the female crew members. The men are enslaved on farms where they labor in the fields and then have their semen "extracted" by a mechanical device in the most humiliating manner imaginable. On a world where the population is declining, the sperm harvested from the men of the ARROW is precious, and in time MacKenzie is able to wrest concessions from the Vlorians. There is plenty of intrigue as one faction of the ruling council kidnaps MacKenzie and keeps him prisoner at a secret location. There is also an exploratory tour of other parts of the devastated, feudal planet and love for MacKenzie with the beautiful Forlana before MacKenzie finally discovers peace and contentment on this alien world.

This book was inspired by the notes I have taken during prayer, fasting and times of listening to the word. These notes have kept me grounded when I wanted to give up. I would pull out my journals, read, cry and pray then lift up my head and declare, "I'm Coming Out Of This!" All we have to do is fine-tune our hearing in the Holy Spirit. Why is Strategic Planning in this "age of disruption" so different from strategic planning before 2020? It is because the traditional mindset of incremental growth and extrapolation-planning is no longer applicable in this age of Pandemics, foul politics, social unrest, and the arriving Digital Transformation. While the old tools of SWOT analysis and Voice of the Customer (VOC) still have immense value, the application of those tools is inadequate if the mindset has not been transformed to "envision the future" and then to plan backward from that vision. The challenge in the early 2020s is to see past the intense disruption and confusion of the 4 Horsemen, to be able to imagine a time when these disruptors are tamed. That is where this book comes in. These 4 Horsemen on our stage now are not only each immensely impactful by themselves, but they have intense interrelationships with each of the other 3 Horsemen until the landscape is disorienting. This causes our horizons to close in. Every institution from education to how we work, to the technologies we use, and how we communicate, pray, date, and many other functions, are radically different since the 4 Horsemen came on stage. While scholars will write about this period for decades, the goal of this book is simply to understand these 4 Horsemen and their interrelationships with each other, as well as to start to understand the basics of their "ripple effects" to a degree that we can once again begin to "envision the future" as we first described in "Strategic Planning in This Age of Disruption" (Amazon, 2018). Our strategic planning at work, in our families, and for ourselves, needs to come to terms with what the 4 Horsemen are doing to our society. This book is a step in that direction.

Women have had to fight for their just place throughout the past, and continue to do so. The Lantern stands as their banner of encouragement for ultimate success. Whether in the arena of professional pursuit, within the family unit, in social circles, the political arena, or in any life situation-an egalitarian approach to all genders fosters an evolved civilization. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." My wish is that The Lantern will inspire a time when we can all dance and sing together in the spirit of true freedom as we journey through Life.
