  • - A Story About Glassmaking and Forbidden Love in Pittsburgh's Victorian Age
    von Griffith John Griffith
    30,00 €

Set in Pittsburgh, and spanning the Victorian years (1837-1901), this is a story of family, commitment, love, and loss set against the backdrop of the glass industry for which Pittsburg was famous long before steel. 'Crystal Reflections' chronicles the early days of the industrial revolution, before the organizations of the great titans Andrew Carnegie, Charles Schwab, Henry Clay Frick, John D. Rockefeller, and George Westinghouse. At the time, glass manufacturing reigned supreme in western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio. As this factory boom was taking place along the shores of Pittsburgh's three rivers, a bright, ambitious boy emigrated with his family from Germany, and he would soon come to figure prominently in the glassmaking business. His name was Paul Zimmerman.Raised by a Lutheran minister, Paul conducted himself in accordance with the teachings of his faith. He developed a personal code of ethics that mostly steered him the right way, yet sometimes failed him in the same way unwavering passions can break down anyone's resolve. With the best of intentions toward his fellow man, Paul Zimmerman did a lot of good, yet he would ultimately succumb to life's negative forces. Paul had many friends but also a few enemies. One of those enemies, Harry McCabe shadowed him through his life. They had common interest in a beautiful, young, Irish girl, named Amy, driven by vastly different reasons. She was the love of Paul's life. For Harry, she was an object and the ultimate victim of his pathological rage. They both made lifelong commitments to the glass industry, Paul as a manager and Harry as a representative of labor. Their paths would unintentionally cross throughout their lives, even after Amy disappeared. At each intersection of their lives, violence and mayhem would usually follow. Paul married Harriette Dithridge, the daughter of Edward Dithridge, patriarch of a manufacturing family in Victorian Pittsburgh and soon became a significant force in the industry. Paul eventually ran their flagship factory, the Fort Pitt Glass Works along with his brother-in-law Edward Dithridge, Jr. They would struggle with the demise of the glass industry as a dearth of capital, a preference for human labor over modern mechanization, and poor labor relations stood as barriers to long-term growth and prosperity. It was during this struggle and in pursuit of business goals that Paul found Amy, who had created a new life in Martins Ferry, Ohio. Both young and impassioned, their relationship was re-kindled instantly. After an evening of emotional and physical engagement, Paul apologetically insisted, out love and duty to his family, that the affair must end, and he returned to Pittsburgh disturbed and burdened with what might have been. He was also made uncomfortably aware of the existence of a son, a son he never knew existed. The struggle between forces of management and labor weighed heavily on him. Following the early death of his wife, circumstances allowed him to reunite with Amy. Even though they had reached into deep middle age, their passion resumed, and Paul enjoyed a relationship with the adult son he never knew he had. Life was good again but Paul fell ill with a mysterious condition that would ultimately lead to his death. It was in this weakened state that he had his ultimate struggle with Harry McCabe; a struggle that ended with Harry's destruction.

  • - THE ORIGINATION AND IMPLICATIONS: "And deliver them who through FEAR of death were all their life time Subject to bondage". Hebrew 2:15
    von Peter Okaiwele
    27,00 €

This book, titled "FEAR", has been inspirationally borne out of contemporary societal anxiety, agitation and feigned imminent danger. The devil is seriously capitalizing on the situation to the extent that mankind is put under great perpetual emotional and physical stress. At times, just as the one in which we now live, God is has need for people. He seeks foe those, who are willing and able to be used by Him in reassuring mankind that the solace we need and the solution to these problems is Jesus Christ. He is the one, who was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, and the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. With His stripes we are healed. Isaiah, 53:5. In this book, the word, "FEAR", and the synonyms have been carefully examined and discussed in three parts. The first part was devoted to the explanation of the words and their manifestations. The question of whether or not man was created with the spirit of fear, being a demonic spirit and the origin and the areas of attack have been addressed. Occasional references to some relevant facts from chapters and verses quoted directly from the Holy Bible. The implications of fear, the sword for demonic warfare and the question of whether fear is insurable were extensively under focus. Finally, the areas of contagiousness and the immunization of fear received factual attention. For the purpose of producing data for the statistical analysis in part three, an attempt was made in part two. This attempt was aimed at collecting or extracting of chapters and verses containing the word "FEAR" in the Holy Bible. The individual opinion, which may be formed from the analysis in part three, notwithstanding; it is important to recognize the admonishment and emphasis on the words; "Fear, Afraid, Be not afraid, Affrighted and be not terrified. The increased usage of these words in the New Testament of the Holy Bible is worthy of notice. Part four is a reminder to the WICKED that it is not late to re-access

In early October 1980, she disappeared without a trace. Neighbors were suspicious and asked Clarence what happened to his wife. He told conflicting stories of her whereabouts. Clarence finally reported her missing three weeks later but didn't seemed concerned that she was gone. He told the sheriff, "Jean will surface again someday." This story reveals intimate details of Martha's death, the two autopsies, the coroner's inquest, details of the trial after Clarence was arrested and indicted for first-degree murder, and how he gets acquitted. Then you will be amazed about all that went on in the search for Jean. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension gets involved. There was the ground search, an aerial search and a search of the Cottonwood River. BCA investigators found blood evidence in the kitchen of the Larson residence. von Shonda Kay White
    19,00 €

Do you ever wonder about the hearts and souls of the men who make up our society? Have you ever been tempted to ask them about their life realities and the secrets that shape their identities today? Men around the world have different stories to tell. Some stories are tragic and others are full drama and maybe enduring love. Whatever the case may be, each one's narrative is unique and important, not one story is greater than the next. This is the cornerstone of our society, the foundation by which our nation stands. But for black men in America, this foundation has appeared faulty and unjust. There has been a Great Divide that now beckons a bridge of togetherness. What if men could live peaceably without discounting one another, no matter their race, culture, social or economic status? In this historical documentary, you will travel in time from the 1920's to the year 2019. You will discover what it feels like to be a black man in American society, each generation plowing straight ahead and never giving up on a land that has promised liberty and justice for all. The men in this book are living the lives of modern day pioneers. You will get to know them on a personally level and quickly understand why the process of plowing should never be minimized. It is what sustains the hope of a grand harvest. This hope requires extreme hard work, steadfastness, and unwavering faith. A faith that invites the unity of all people. There is a hope of not only creating a positive environment for a dialogue concerning the challenges of unity, but the importance of implementing a "Call to Action" by stepping back into time and identifying the deadly root, then cutting it off once and for all. Healing a nation begins with acknowledgement, repentance and forgiveness. The Understatement of Plowing is raw and organic. It will give you a close look inside the minds of four black men. You will hear the whispers of their hearts speak, "We just want to be valued as MEN, period." And with that, we trust that hope will not disappoint. I implore you to receive what you will and find a way to not only understand their perspectives, but be compelled to join them on a quest to walk out God's original plan for true diversity and unity in America.

  • - A breakdown of how to flip houses for wealth building
    von Damon Oubre
    23,00 €

Having grown up in a small town of five to six thousand residents, I totally appreciate life's simplicities. This work was created to simplify what most people would complicate: a house renovation with the goal of flipping. To be honest, real estate is a very complicated field with multiple sub-industries that do not necessarily correlate. Yet the home renovation and house flipping industry has, in recent times, gotten the general population excited about real estate investing. I like to call it the rebranding of an industry. House flipping has a silver lining so rarely mentioned that many active flippers do not fully understand the advantages until putting in several years of work. This is because the benefits of flipping are almost always seen as huge profit margins. Big profits are absolutely obtainable, but they are actually not the best benefit nor reason to start a house flipping business. The key to expanding any business is leverage. Flipping homes consistently helps you gain experience. That experience can then be used as a bargaining tool with lending institutions to allow you to leverage, or get financing, for larger and larger sums of money. Going into house flipping to make vast profits is not a strategy that fits the business model of 2020 and beyond. While liquidity (cash on hand) expedites one's ability to acquire properties, the access to leverage allows one to buy larger, more valuable and usually more profitable assets. For example, if you could put up $100,000 of your cash and gain control of $1 million worth of properties to renovate, you could end up with a much bigger check to deposit. The goal of any business is to first understand its industry and then use that knowledge to create a system of processes. If the blood of a business is money, the heart of a business is its systems. One cannot function properly without the other. In the following pages, I will teach you a method for flipping houses that will simplify the way you think about this industry. I will also teach you system design techniques that will place you years ahead of most of your competition. This short book is designed to obliterate your fears and misconceptions of the house-flipping process. It is also a blueprint for checks and balances that you can even use to flip remotely. Thank you for allowing me to share this information with you. This guide is the first of many to come.

  • - What if you could go back in time to tweak a few things in your life. Be careful what you wish for.
    von D E Pruitt
    22,00 €

"This story is an exciting, fresh twist on the time travel genre." Remember the time, after a particular encounter, you said to yourself, "Well, that could have gone better." Or the moment you did something, or did nothing, that you instantly regretted. And in the back of your mind, you desperately wished you had a "do-over." In the novel, Do-Overs, Jake Patterson, a 72-year-old retiree, discovers that he can travel back through his own timeline and actually change those failed opportunities that he, like you, experienced in his life. And, while those second chances are not history-changing and don't alter any outcomes, Jake feels a little better about himself. They are exhilarating experiences, until he's pushed to uncover the answer to an awful question that's been haunting him for nearly 50 years. Finding that answer forces him to "do over" one hellish night as a soldier in the Central Highlands of Vietnam as a 23-year-old. When he makes a spur-of-the-moment decision that saves a friend, he begins to understand, to his horror, that when you mess with time for any reason-no matter how innocent or well-intended-sooner or later, she's going to seriously mess with you. "A stirring ride through a violent war experience that catapults the reader onto the floor of the real (and imagined) chaos that was the 1976 Republican Convention."

Is there a truly low-cost way to get into orbit that is being overlooked; and is there any real substance to the claims of UFOs? In our own time, these two topics are becoming an ever-larger part of the national dialog. This novel explores how both of these intertwined possibilities may be moving from fiction to fact. Hans-Peter, the novel's namesake, has spent his considerable career looking for that truly low-cost way into orbit. From an abandoned Air Force Base now called Norton Field, he has focused on tri-propellant rocket engines. His work was generally scoffed as science fiction, but back in the late 60s the tri-propellants demonstrated the highest performance ever achieved by chemical rocket engines. His work began where the others left off.Ruthiebelle, an old college acquaintance and now the science editor of the largest newspaper in L.A., is one of the few people who remember Hans-Peter's interest in Low Earth Orbit. She is also discreet enough that "Black World" whistleblowers are willing to give her their best information. She knows things most insiders don't and has developed her own agenda. When she learns that Hans-Peter's titanium metals factory has rolled out a new hypersonic airplane, she decides to renew her acquaintance. She knows from anonymous sources that at extreme altitudes and hypersonic speeds there's more up there than thin air. On the pretext of reporting his experimental flights, she hopes to achieve her own goals. She manages to secure a dinner invitation and then over the next several weeks, as they renew their friendship, they unexpectedly fall into an astonishing secret.

Life is full of both good and bad choices. Regardless of the type of choices we make, there will always be consequences following them. If you sow to the flesh you will reap from the flesh, bringing on destruction. However, if you sow to the Spirit you will reap that which is of the Spirit, which leads to us reaping life everlasting. Blessings and prosperity follow behind good and wise choices. Curses, destruction, and bad consequences follow behind poor and unwise decisions. A renewed mind in Jesus Christ longs to follow the ways of God, but a mind stuck on flesh tends to seek after the things of the flesh! The way we think, and our level of commitment to God determines the choices we will make in life. When making choices, follow the heart of God, and you will never have to regret the outcome of your choices!

What chance does the son of Greek immigrants in St. Louis have at the end of a Depression and at the beginning of a war? Thrown into World War II with a high school education and not much life experience Michel Poulos is among the troops that go ashore at Utah Beach and fight their way across France to Germany. En route Michal is awakened to life, love, and the realities of war, and he emerges after two years in Europe with an awakened awareness of the economic realities of life in the Twentieth Century. Poulos can sink or swim. He is carried along by a tide like the world has never seen before. Six million service men and women left our shores to fight in the European and Pacific Theatres. Many had never been one hundred miles from home, but they returned determined to change the world. Michael Poulos was swept along with their enthusiasm, hunger and ingenuity into a developing economy, inquisitive scientific quest, and a thirst to do more, make more, improve on old ways and question the status quo. He elected not to be a bystander, but rather, to jump headlong into manufacturing, and success was soon to follow. What Poulos learned in his two years in Europe during World War II marked him for life. There were good and bad lessons, some of which he couldn't help; some he could not forget, but all were a part of the teaching moment of a man who started with little but who proved to be a fast study to the lessons of war.The lessons were not all economic. Some were about love and relationships. The loss of a wife from the ravages of cancer; the love of his sons, and a haunting fling with a French girl in 1944 all propel him toward the century's end sometimes excited, sometimes depressed, but always intrigued with the situation with which .he finds himself. As readers we are swept along from the loft of a French barn to the canyons of Wall Street, and from the life of a grease monkey living under an army truck in a muddy field in Normandie to the touchdown of his private jet at Paris' Orly Field, Michael Poulos was a poster child for America's Greatest Generation.
