  • - The One Recipe Solution to Accommodate Everyone
    von Lucie Cote Contente
    39,00 €

What makes this cookbook different from other gluten free cookbooks is that the recipes are written for everyone - people with and without gluten issues. Delicious meals that are easy to make. If you have a food allergy, mix the main part of the ingredients - the ones everyone can eat. I explain how to separate the main mixture into 2 bowls and how much gluten free flour to add to one and regular flour to add to the other. The recipe also explains how you can make the recipe all gluten free or all traditional. The best part of this cookbook is that the gluten free person gets to eat exactly what the non gluten free people eat. If you enjoy delicious food, this cookbook is for you. If you have food allergies or know someone with food allergies, this cookbook is for you. If your family is food diversified, this cookbook is for you. If you don't have food allergies but love easy to make, great tasting food, this cookbook is for you.

  • von Patricia Hayes
    65,00 €

“This extraordinary book includes a broad spectrum of information that is focused into an easy-to-understand single best source on the Afterlife.”“Death cannot separate us.”Unlike all other books on this topic, The Definitive Book of the Afterlife introduces an astonishing new way of looking at the Afterlife. It is very different and profound – a true documentary that shares in-depth information and detailed experiences of dying, death, transition, and existence in the Afterlife – actual experiences!”In the very early stages of writing The Definitive Book on the Afterlife, Marshall Smith unexpectedly passed away through a tragic accident. However, he continued to contribute to the book by sharing his personal experiences of dying, death, and the Afterlife. Patricia Hayes, highly experienced in communicating with those in the Afterlife, and having shared this process with Marshall for three decades, documented over a hundred communications with Marshall who, now in the Afterlife, provided detailed information that greatly influenced the content and direction of this book. The information about the Afterlife conveyed in this book comes from Patricia Hayes’ decades of first-hand experience with helping others to cross over, and with her frequent communication not only with her husband, but also with her brother, Fred.  She shares intimate details of Marshall’s dying, including his moment of death, transition, and acclimation to the Afterlife – intimate details that are made possible through their deep love and dedication to their personal and working relationship. Using Marshall’s observations and understanding of his existence in the Afterlife, Patricia draws comparisons between the physical levels of consciousness and the levels of consciousness in the Afterlife, so that you will know what to expect and how to function.Practical and easy-to-understand, you discover what the transition process is like, how the Earth and Afterlife are intertwined, how to determine your place in the Afterlife, and, most important, how to communicate with your loved ones who are in the Afterlife while you are still here on Earth. The Definitive Book on the Afterlife transcends religious views of dying to share first-hand, direct experience with the process of dying and death, as well as the realities of being in the Afterlife. One thing is for sure -- you will never look at dying and death the same way again. Inspirational, transformative, comforting, reassuring – it is a must read!

Why? Birds cannot fly unless they keep their feathers clean by frequent bathing and careful grooming. Even ground birds such as these have to be able to fly in an emergency, to escape danger, or to find another swamp with more food. It is important that everyone help wildlife to survive and that as many as possible enjoy seeing, while not disturbing, wild creatures. What do I know about wildlife? I have watched and photographed it since I was a small child. I have visited most Spanish-speaking countries during my vacations from teaching Spanish. My first trip to Costa Rica was in 1970. My goals in life are to entertain as well as to educate others and to promote conservation. I want everyone to be able to see and to appreciate nature and wildlife; therefore, I write photographic books. Most books describe animals and birds. I want you to see what I see while I travel so that you can understand as much as possible how creatures live, what they eat, how they move, and what they do where they are visible. I tired of studying books talking about ecology and wildlife; I want you to see what each creature looks like and how they act. I chose Spanish-speaking countries for two reasons. First, I speak the language and have photographed everything I could for many years for my students to see as they learned the language. To communicate successfully with people of other countries, you need to understand their customs and culture as well as their language. Second, people are familiar with huge African and Asian animals. Unfortunately, little attention has been paid to the wealth of Latin American wildlife; I am trying to do my bit to help remedy the lack. While most of my books are written primarily for children, I hope adults too will enjoy the photographs and humor as well as learn more about the wildlife. Carol Creager

  • - A Riverview Animal Shelter Mystery Novel
    von Helen A Bemis

The story starts with an heir to substantial wealth poking around late at night on the property of the Riverview Animal Shelter adjoining his estate. A treasure may be buried there. Some of the same characters previously involved in the activities at the Riverview Animal Shelter (RAS) return in this seventh book of the series. Several of them have secrets, some nice, some not-so-nice.There were rumors about hidden gems and cash on or near the RAS, and more than one person was seeking them. "Be careful what you wish for" is good advice. Choose well, however. Becoming rich has its charms...and its drawbacks, especially when your loot is from crime; "all that glitters is not gold."Two men are interested in the attractive and talented young widow, Sandy, one intrigued by the person she is, the other more interested in her money. In this family-friendly mystery, the loot from a long-ago robbery is stashed where it is not likely to be found unless a puzzling set of clues can be deciphered. Several members of RAS join the hunt. Lives are changed; a fortune found and a fortune lost. Two of the hunters fall in love with each other. The genre is "cozy mystery," a puzzle to be solved by people you will like.As you read this Riverview Animal Shelter mystery, you'll note the underlying themes of love and compassion. People can be and are treasures, as are their pets. In this story, unlike her earlier RAS books, dogs play only minor roles, although Misty and Rover become more than friends, and Misty's curiosity uncovers something important. From the author: "I've always enjoyed telling stories. I have discovered that stories can help us to learn and remember valuable information. I hope the reader will find these stories entertaining and informative."UNDERSTANDING TREASURE is the seventh in her multi-book series, following UNDERSTANDING SASSIE; UNDERSTANDING SASSIE, II; UNDERSTANDING CHAMP; UNDERSTANDING TRIXIE; UNDERSTANDING TIPPIE, and UNDERSTANDING MISS UNDERSTANDING, Readers can enjoy each without having read the others. All seven novels combine upbeat personal stories with insights about training dogs with love.

Adrienne knows exactly what changes she wants, and she has the energy and determination to achieve them. Unfortunately, she also has no interest in collaboration, will not tolerate opposition, and refuses to waste the time in salving bruised sensitivities. What they don't understand is that the underlying issues are about more than the dean, and that the price is murder.

Do you love baseball? Are you fascinated by the history of the game and how it has wound itself into the core of American life? If the answer to these questions is yes, then you will enjoy the book American Pastimes by S.P. Goldstein. This book contains seven stories covering a swath of time from the 1920's to the present day. These baseball themed stories include dictators and detectives, politicians and celebrities, journalists and spies. Some of them existed in the real world and some of them are literary constructs. In these pages they mingle with one another and share adventures that center around the game which has been at the core of American life for nearly 150 years. You'll visit small towns and big cities, clubhouses and courthouses, hospitals, and hotels. You'll experience life on the road, riding the rails, spring training in Florida and international relations between adversarial countries. While each story is unique within itself, don't be surprised to see actors from one story pop up in another. There are a lot of references to actual events in baseball history, and one or two that never happened but probably should have. You may even have some fun trying to remember what is real and what is not. For readers of sports fiction and historical fiction, American Pastimes is a must read. Pick up the book, lie back and take a trip through the American past with a bat and ball in hand.

  • von Bill Prusinowski

This work is a memoir about two brothers, sons of first wave Polish immigrants and their dealings with the professional boxing industry and its machinations with the American underworld of the 1930s. Babe Risko (Henry Pelkowski) would go on to win the Middleweight Championship of the World. Brother Vince was his "acting" manager, being at odds more than not with the "Czar" of boxing Frankie Carbo and his mobster minions. Babe's achievement in the ring and continued life in Syracuse, New York was a one and only occurrence for this city and its reputation as an avid sports town. After his untimely death, Risko slowly faded from memory of the local populace. This book told from the point of view of Babe Risko's nephew and godson paints a brief local view taken in the throes of the depression, mass immigration, impending world war, prohibition, and the faiths, secular and non, that drove the culture and commerce of the time. Because of the gap in time periods, much of the research had to do with the passed down oral traditions of families and associations. Consequently, the author takes liberties in embellishments, speculations, and even some fabrication, but always within the realm of plausibility. And humor. Former local sports editor Bob Snyder has said that the central New York area can now... "boast of three Boxing world champions, Basilio, Backus and the Babe."
