This poetry haiku book is the first poetry book for this author. She has had poetry published in anthologies previously. We know you will enjoy dreaming, traveling, and soaking up the memories within this book. Peace, Love and Haiku is a fun, humorous, thoughtful, and speculative trip into the past. Let it take you away to the sandy beaches, under the big oak trees, rocking on Grandma's porch, and smelling the sweet Texas wildflowers. This poetry is for kids as well as adults. Do you catch yourself drifting off and daydreaming during your break at school or work? These are the snippets of life that remain in your subconscious and come to the surface when you have the time to take a break and just dream on.We all have those places we go in our minds when we have a moment to daydream or to contemplate our past. Come along with us as we visit some of those familiar places and enjoy the sounds and sights of the past.It is time we all take the time to love, and we all need more peace these days. I hope this will bring you a true sense of joy and transports you to those places that are comforting and familiar.Blessings to you all and remember to believe in Peace, Love, and Haiku!

A sad happy man I am. You will be laughing and crying at the same time when you read many of my self-criticizing and pessimistic writings of life's little struggles in poetic form. But I always can find a reason and be willing to accept the outcome or find a compromise to make everything okay. I try and find present-day/year situations from love, sex, and the struggle of addiction to all and everything that life has to offer. Peer pressure is real, but that's the easy way out or in. To be accepted by the majority, so it seems at the time, is a bad lesson to learn the hard way. Luckily, I thought of a way to express it to everyone-the good in my higher power and the bad in this troublesome world. Here is just a little taste of what you will get if you buy my "e;bio."e; This one is called Bye. I've wasted my whole life. Now, I just sit here and sigh. All the abuse to myself just makes me want to cry. It's too late to fix it now. So why should I even try? Everything that I thought was fun, I know now that it was all a fucking lie. So one day, probably soon, now, there won't be anything left. Now, while I still have a chance. I would like to say to you all, "e;Good fucking bye."e; That is just a short version of an addict thinking. Please just check it out. There will be at least one or two that you will find relevant for yourself or someone you know. Thank you for your time and consideration. Robert "e;Bobby"e; Loyd.PS: More to come if y'all like this one. Later.

Have you ever wondered if there is anything to the concepts of God, religion, and miracles? Are you the kind of person that doesn't just want to stick their head in the sand and be duped by someone who says "e;You just need to take a leap in the dark and believe"e;? I hear you. Or perhaps you are a Christian, but you have some doubts. I want to share the evidence for Christianity in a succinct, readable (with a slight touch of humor), and compelling way using the concept of American jurisprudence, which demands good reasoning but not necessarily one hundred percent proof to make its case. Average, commonsense people live this way all the time, and this book is for them. This book will benefit the average Christian, giving valuable information in a memorable way so that they can share their faith with confidence. It will also benefit those who don't know Christ yet by its brevity, clarity, and persuasive nature. I begin talking about common sense using American jurisprudence and the concept of proof beyond a reasonable doubt. I then make a case using common sense to gradually move a person down the line from unbeliever to believer. I first help the atheist see why it is more reasonable to be an agnostic. Then I aid the agnostic in realizing it is more fitting to be a theist (a believer in a supreme being) than to stay agnostic. Next, I assist the theist into embracing Christianity. If there is a God, then it makes sense that He would reveal Himself in such a way that we don't have to wander in the dark all our lives. Then I cover the thorny question of properly interpreting the Bible. I conclude with a satisfying answer to the legitimate question of why an all-powerful and all-loving God would allow so much evil and suffering in the world. Is there evidence for God and Jesus? I think you will be surprised.

ABOUT THE BOOKAfter reading the draft manuscript of this book, Rev. Mary Ramerman astutely observed, "e;When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, we were asked to observe social distance and stay home. Vacations, weddings, trips to the mall, dinners out, and baseball games all ended. We were literally sent to our rooms to reflect on how we lived our lives and what mattered most to us."e;The collective wisdom presented in this anthology provides answers to those two important questions. Writers offer a wealth of ideas, shared wisdom, action steps, inspiring stories, and candid looks at real-life situations. The reader will find insights that come from the other side of pain, in people and events affirming hope, perseverance and resilience, as well as a candid record of life in the early days of this pandemic and the challenges before us.

Frayed, by Patrick Davis, is an autobiography written in rhyme. The saga begins with a boy born in rural Northwestern Pennsylvania while his uncle fights for his life on the beaches of Normandy. Luckily, the Germans couldn't stop Johnny from teaching his nephew to be a man, even with a new plate in his head. When the ghosts of war drive Johnny to finish the job that Hitler's war machine couldn't, his nephew could do nothing but follow in his footsteps. Yet war cannot cure a heavy heart and a guilty conscience. Now, in his ninth decade, Patrick realizes that the love found along the way might.

It took me thirty years to write my book. This is my first book to be published. I wanted to share with the world the injustice that my family and many other families had to endure. The justice system is not always right. It tore our families apart. Not even love could fix what had been broken. I pray that something in my book might help the people that have been affected by our case or one like it. Thank you Dana Nachman and Don Hardy for doing the documentary The Witch Hunt. It gave me the incentive to finish my book. Thank you, my children, for loving me, Carol, Johnnie, Tommie, Lisa, and Bryan. Thank you, Rick, for always being there to catch this mother's tears. Yvonne, Pam, and Misty, thank you for holding me together.

This book started out as a collection of handouts that I would give to people taking classes with me. The handouts became manuals, and the manuals became a book. This is that book! I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing and illustrating it. Everything contained in this book represents the knowledge, experience, and wisdom handed down to us from our ancestors. As you learn these skills and put them in to practice, you will feel an awakening in yourself that will take you back to the beginning of the dawn of mankind. It is in all of us. It may be dormant, but trust me, it's in there.Sam

You probably have noticed there are a lot of books to read and picked this one up and read the back to see if this book is worth reading. I think it is, and you might think that is kind of self-serving, and actually, that is what makes the book worth reading. We have all known people who have messed up their lives over drugs and alcohol, but what about being self-centered? If you do not think this falls into the same category, this is the book for you.

  • von Richard Cacace

Richard Cacace wanted to leave a chronicle of his life to his sons and spoke to them about the idea. They told him to do it on two conditions: first, tell the truth and, second, tell it all-the good and the bad. This book was written as a record of the memorable moments of his first twenty-five years. During that period, his life seemed to be a great roller-coaster ride. His life until he was twenty years old seemed like the long upward climb toward the highest point in the ride. Suddenly, he came crashing down to the lowest point in his life. It took almost four years to achieve another high point again. Pride in his achievements made the writing go quickly. When he came to the skeletons in his closet, he had to force himself to open the door and let them out. He wrote things about himself that no one knew. As a result, he felt a sense of relief for having done so.He tells about his time in the US Marine Corps, where he was filled with a renewed sense of pride that helped him climb out of the abyss into which he had fallen. It taught him to value people not by their color or nationality but by their effort and desire. Vietnam gave him the desire to live again. There were incidents where he should have been killed but walked away without a scratch. There were incidents where he was at the edge of his sanity and someone stepped in to keep him from doing something that would have destroyed his life. Vietnam helped simplify the equation of the relationship of people to people in his eyes. They needed one another at a crucial time and didn't care whether they were White, Black, Hispanic, or Asian. It also taught him that in each of us, there is a battle raging between good and evil and, if we are not careful, the evil can win. Go back with him to the early 1950s and walk the path he walked.

In alternating voices, Judith Wright Favor and Rosie Alfaro take the reader on a frank, frustrating, and unforgettable journey. Friending Rosie: Respect on Death Row bridges the chasm between souls consigned to life behind bars, and souls enjoying the privileges of freedom.Rosie's letters from Central California Women's Facility, interwoven with Judith's reflections and questions, highlight perspectives from authors of different races, religions, and languages. Marginalized people stifle their stories when there is no one to hear, but mutual listening brings forth accounts of regret, doubt, humiliation, and grace. Some stories describe difficult encounters in prison. Family members with intimate knowledge of Rosie tell their stories. Other tales illustrate surprising parallels in the inner lives of both authors.Judith follows the friendly path of Quakers who began in the 1650s to value women's leadership and befriend prisoners. Rosie grew up Catholic, in a faith tradition that shaped her art and values. Both write stories interwoven with social challenges and spiritual practices intended to support readers in reaching out to persons behind bars.8-12-20: It's yours, mine, and God's book. This book of poems was prompted by the author's separation from his wife during the pandemic (family medical care) and his despair of events unfolding in 2020. It includes poetry written during the virus, as well as from throughout his life which are pertinent to today's topics, such as societal ills during the COVID-19 lockdown-faith, drug abuse, war, racism, love, and sexual issues. The book has both Christian and secular influence. This book is a reaction to the viciousness of our treatment of each other as humans, and the hypocrisy of the Church and the government. The author looks past our shortcomings to an optimism, remembering that to be a genuine human being is to have conviction and courage.
