When some of us think of Christmas, we think of certain symbols. Among the symbols that come to mind are Christmas trees, Santa Claus, mistletoe, and turkey. This particular story introduces us to a different kind of Christmas symbol. This special symbol is a fish, and this story is about some special qualities it seems to have. This fish, which seems to arrive at Christmastime, unites a group of very good and giving people and creates a community of love and laughter. It also brings about a special togetherness, which is typical of what the yuletide season is about. The fish seems to carry with it a message that says, "e;Let's never forget how good Christmas feels . . . "e;The characters in the story represent a special kind of unselfishness and expect nothing in return. Their story serves to tell us that we are often unaware of how little it takes to be kind and to give willingly. It reminds us of how good it feels to give. We are shown the worth and warmth of being surrounded by good friends, good people combined with acts of kindness. Though fictional, with a hint of a "e;mythical legend,"e; it is a reminder that ever so often, we forget about how much goodness is in all of us. Sometimes it takes a most unusual source, like a fish, to remind us that the special gifts we gain from giving to others are far more valuable than beautifully wrapped boxes under a tree. We must live with caring and sharing in our hearts each and every day. Maybe after reading this story, you will think about Christmas whenever you see a fish and wonder if it is the special fish that brought about a lot of miracles during the most joyous holiday season of all! Maybe some of you may even become believers of the legacy of the Christmas fish and look out of your windows on Christmas Eve night to see if the group is still traveling to share the fish with those willing to make the journey to give a share of the real spirit of Christmas to everybody!

In our world today, we hear so many hollow words. Words that mean nothing. Words that we are not certain are truthful. Words that try to impress us and others. Words that are weak and powerless. We hear words that are negative and legalistic. I certainly hope the words in this book are not meaningless, empty, and negative. I have intended for the words to bring you peace, love, and insight. I want these words to bring you hope and joy. They are intended for you to live a more fulfilled life. I hope you will find this book to be just what you needed to hear. It is not because I have wisdom, however; I have prayed that the Lord would use these words to be helpful and encouraging. If you have been wounded, I hope you will find these words of comfort. If you have experience prolonged struggles, I hope you will find God is looking after you and wants to give you comfort and peace. If your life is at the crossroad and you need to make a decision to what is right or wrong, please do what is right, not just what feels right to you. If you are the person who believes that you are unlovable, I hope you find insight in this book about how deeply the Lord loves you and wants a relationship with you. If you do not believe in miracles, I hope you might after reading about a few miracles in my life. What are your friendships like? I will share my relationship with just a few of my wonderful friend. Oh my goodness, they offer forgiveness for my weaknesses. Do you want to grow old gracefully? I sure do, however; after putting on a little age and going through a few storms on this journey, it can be challenging. I will share a few of my insights with you. My prayer is this book will be refreshing to you. Hopefully you will be encouraged during the tough seasons in your life. Please know, that I do not claim to have all the answers. Many people have blessed me with their insight and I would like to share them with you. I want you to have a wonderful and happy life. A life filled with goodness and joy. May the words in this book bless you.

The wind carries them through many adventures, some very amusing and others quite dangerous. The adventures of Jake and Milton originated as bedtime stories, which the author told his son. This book combines the adventures and were finally written down as advised by his son Miles. The illustrations were all done by the author's son, Miles Huffman. The author hopes the stories will be passed on to Miles's children one day.

This is a beautiful time of year. For some, this represents a special time in which seasonal memories are made. I don't mind not working, but I prefer it on my own terms - not lying in bed sipping protein shakes and peeling skin. Eventually, I just started listening to music around the clock until I started seeing the power lines outside my bedroom window as guitar strings being plucked by God. This was during November, I think, the month of hard winds pounding the walls. One morning, I was listening to Son House sing "e;John the Revelator."e; Great song. Anyway, when he mentions the apostles, he comes down hard on the -st, actually enunciates it so it sounds like he's saying apostas. I remember hearing that as a kid, that same pronunciation, which got me to thinking about all these different voices I'd heard throughout my life . . . which in turn started all these different voices telling stories in my head. E. L. Doctorow says writing is basically a "e;socially acceptable form of schizophrenia."e; I hope he's right. About the acceptable part, I mean."e;

Francheska, Zoe, Sadie, and Emma were sure they would have another uneventful summer at Superior Lake; they had been spending summers at their lake houses, and it had always been uneventful. Francheska, Zoe, Sadie, and Emma were very glad that they had each other to hang with. Emma and Zoe's father was a professor of geology at the University of Michigan, and he had gotten a Professor Coolage notes on how he believes that Porcupine Mountain is a dormant volcano and when it erupts, it will trigger earthquakes, which will trigger the Keweenaw fault, which runs along the bottom of Michigan, and if triggered would shove Lower Michigan into Upper Michigan, and Michigan will become an island. Their dad, along with Francheska and Sadie's, studied the mountain and checked for any changes. Francheska, Sadie, Emma, and Zoe decided to try out this new path that had been built the last year. Halfway up the mountain, they stopped at the picnic area and started having lunch when these two girls walked up to them and introduced themselves to Francheska, Sadie, Emma, and Zoe,Ashlynn and Aubrey told Francheska, Sadie, Emma, and Zoe that their parents came to Porcupine Mountain; their parents wanted to bring them and their annoying little brother, Zachery, to the mountain to get away from the distraction of the big city and spend some quality family time. Francheska saw a path from the path that had just been made. The girls decided to take it to see where it led. The girls met a hairy boy their age named Zeek. A large black cloud showed up, and lightning hit the ground; a bear came out of the woods ready to attack them. Zeek had a flasher and flashed the bear, and the bear ran away screaming. Zeek took the girls to his house, more like a mansion, once belonging to a Professor Coolage, who left the home to the Thomlanes. Zeek's mother and father were nervous at first to have the girls at their home but ended up enjoying them. The girls got trapped up the mountain for three weeks because of fires and storms. Emma and Zeek really liked each other. The events that happened changed the girls' lives, as well as Michigan, forever.

My promise to "e;Jesus"e; and understanding my message. I realize the Lord has allowed me to experience, endure and witness a great deal by protecting me all these years. My message is to enlighten society by using my past as an example of belief, faith and wisdom. Greatness of good is a gift from God. Evil is a powerful force of nature. Society will use the phrase, "e;It's human nature"e; as an excuse for any wrong doings towards anyone who has an identity crisis. But, is it human nature or just an evil act of malice behavior depending on the person? My opinion is goodness in people hearts are being de-sanitized by the strength of evil only if allowed. Be "e;real"e; to yourself by being yourself. Having faith will carry you through the challenges of life. Remember, "e;An anger mind is the devil's workshop"e;. I always say, "e;Great people who represent good may pay the ultimate price on earth. But, the Lord's reward is life everlasting spirit in heaven"e;.

Eventually, they are contacted by several people who claim to be trying to help them. This causes them to get into a lot of dangerous and complicated situations, which also cause them to contact a number of other people. The story involves youthful ignorance, mistrust, and overtrust, and boys discovering a world that contains extreme treachery and selfishness but also extreme integrity, self-sacrifice, and courage. The boys must learn who to trust and what to trust, who not to trust and what not to trust, as they find themselves involved in the long war between good and evil. They are caught between these two forces, and even though they have previously known about this historic conflict, they will now learn just how severe it really is. While this story is fiction, it involves many topics that are very real.

All articles selected to this book are pertinent to international relations in different fields such as political science, economic development, and cultural exchange, which include liberalism and international organizations, globalization, development of urbanization, as well as bilateral and multilateral relationship between China and other major countries in the globe. I want to take this opportunity to thank all professors who guided my research. Meanwhile, the purpose of publishing this book is inspiring me to continue making a positive contribution on my future academic research. I also look forward to feedbacks from readers. It is a tale of heroin addiction, street crime and jails, and illegal behavior involving police malfunction and misconduct as a reflection of an urban American streetlife experience.

Guillotine Education details the abuses practices of the former East German State Security (Stasi) as experienced by border guard Manfred Smolka. His temporary cellmate Klaus Schmude recounts the harrowing tale of the young official disillusioned by the shocking realities of a rogue regime. Pacing his cell, Smolka is stunned by the death sentence he has just been handed. His attorney already knows that the decision by the kangaroo court is a foregone conclusion, yet he still encourages him to appeal the decision to the highest authorities in the land. Smolka then reflects on the circumstances of his illegal apprehension on West German soil, and his hellish months of detention marked by sleep deprivation and seemingly endless good cop/bad cop interrogations. The interplay between the present and the past continues as he recalls his upbringing and the ideological warfare employed by his East German trainers in preparing him for his career as a border guard. It is when he begins to question the validity of Stalinist ideology and its brutal practices that he develops a crisis of conscience. He concludes that his only acceptable choice is to escape to the West, which he successfully manages to do. Upon crossing the border, he is detained and questioned by West German authorities. They, in turn, hand him over to the Americans, who consider him a particularly valuable source of information about East German border installations. His kindly Jewish American interrogator soon releases him to enjoy his newly acquired freedom after making a brilliant connection between the brutalities of Hitler's national socialism and Stalinist totalitarian socialism. These brutalities included the occasional beheading of political prisoners with the identical guillotine used by both regimes. After a year of blissful freedom in West Germany, Smolka decides to rescue his wife and daughter from the GDR. Little did he realize that this decision would lead to such fateful consequences.
