We have all been there. A point that can send our lives in one direction or the other. This is a point where we can either continue the way we have been living or branch out, take a chance, and seek more out of life. The Long Road North chronicles this juncture in Quentin Super's life. His memoir takes us through various stages that many people have experienced: partying, promiscuity, emptiness, and eventually a desire for something more. For Super, this "e;something more"e; entailed riding his bicycle through the grueling Minnesota winter with his best friend during their spring break in March 2015. Together, they rode eight hundred miles from St. Cloud, Minnesota, into Canada, all the way to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Once they finished their time in the major metropolis, they turned around and went all the way back. Captured in this book is just how difficult the journey was from a physical, mental, and emotional perspective. The raw honesty will draw tears. The mesmerizing storytelling will keep readers engaged. But the lengths Super went to find out more about himself and the world will inspire a generation.

My book of jokes and riddles could be described as spicy and debaucherous that wouldn't be for everyone. But I assume that on this day and age, such qualities are superfluous as long as the literature is creative and artistic. My inspiration for the book began after getting into a series of jokes and riddles match with a co-worker at a restaurant where I've worked at. Everyone there encouraged me to write it all down on a paper and create a book. After twelve years of compiling jokes and riddles, with much time on my hands, I've finally formed a book for publication.

It is an expose of rampant greed and excessive risk taking that shocked the world and caused enormous damage to Afghanistan's economy and image. The Tragedy of Kabul Bank is a narrative of a notorious case of corruption in post-Taliban Afghanistan, recipient of the largest foreign aid since European reconstruction. The Tragedy of Kabul Bank is a minute by minute account of multiple crises occurring at the same time and in quick succession and the panic that precipitated the largest bank run the country had ever seen. It is also an astonishing story of sacrifice and bravery by staff of the Central Bank who faithfully investigated members of the most powerful mafia in order to track and recover the stolen funds, but fell prey themselves. As the then Governor of the Central Bank, Fitrat struggled hard against impossible odds, but failed to bring the perpetrators to justice. Faced with imminent threats to his safety, he fled to the United States in June 2011. He and his innocent colleagues at the Central Bank became the subject of persecution by the ruling cliques experiencing enormous pain and suffering that has continued to this day. The alleged perpetrators who stole nearly one billion dollars of depositors' money and caused the bank's downfall largely escaped justice. Many of them including relatives of political elites were not even in the prosecution list and received no verdict. The most shocking episode came when President Karzai invited the alleged perpetrators for a luncheon in the Presidential Palace and instead of sending them to prison assured them of his unwavering support. The failure to prosecute the perpetrators became a major source of discontent for the international donor community and the Afghan people alike.

I'm a sixty year old man who has spent most of my life with animals. Within this book, I describe my display of affection for my friends in my own way. I do not recommend anyone following my example for anything I describe doing in this book. Each person must make his or her won decision on how to treat their friend. Many found resistance to them and only accomplished a modicum of success; some had a great deal of resistance and lost their minds or life, but none in my book, except two, had to experience the speed of life as it is today. President Obama seems to have been sensitive to the artists and showmen regarding their legacies and had several groups on public TV channels with special shows. The productions at the White House have given guests a charge if they needed it. Obama, in attending to his own legacy, has certainly helped theirs.

With the help of three friends, Fr. Robert must try to confront the murderer and attempt to prevent many more, even as other terrorist plans are in the works.

A Message to My Black People: Stop Being the Nigga in America, first of all, is not meant to anger or disparage anyone. I wrote this book to help my people understand that we can do things a whole lot better as a people in order to earn and gain the respect as a people that we feel we deserve. Our slave ancestors endured too much for too long for us not to respect and reflect upon that and to make ourselves better. Our people and others devoted to the cause during the civil rights era fought tirelessly to earn equal rights and respect for our people for that to be disregarded. I do not want our people to take certain rights and privileges for granted and not understand the full purpose behind them. What I say in this book is how a lot of our people feel but are probably afraid to say, especially in a public forum. A lot of us may fall into certain categories mentioned in the book or know someone who does. The goal is not to insult anyone but to bring to light that he or she or they can do things better to uplift our people and help remove all the negative stereotypes placed upon us by other races. Please take the time and read each section thoroughly to get my full message. If you agree with my points, great. If not, try to really evaluate why and see if there is anything you can do to at least understand where I am coming from when I mention the things that I do. It is time for us as a people to take responsibility of our actions and better ourselves, improve our image, and stop being the scapegoat for problems in America. It is time to stop being the nigga in America!
