This book is a compilation of mini devotionals and poems originally intended for "e;Covenant Call"e; our monthly church magazine. On October 28th, 1940 Benito Mussolini at 5 am, sent a telegram to his ambassador in Athens to demand that prime Minister Ioannis Metaxas allow his Italian troops to invade Greece without incident or face war. Since Greece had remained neutral during the start of WWII, Metaxas immediately replied with one word "e;oxi"e;, which in Greek means no. The small and unprepared Greek Army with local volunteers, held the Italian Army at the border of Albania for six months from entering. After the humiliation of Mussolini's inability to conquer this small country, Hitler sent his troops on April 6th and by June 1st, 1941, Greece surrendered to Germany. During the occupation, the bank of Greece was completely looted by the Germans and 80 percent of the industry was destroyed. The country's food was allocated to supply Hitler's army in North Africa, which caused thousands of Greeks to die from starvation along with Nazi reprisals. Many Fortunes were spent to buy a sack of flour and other food necessities to survive. The following book is a true story of some of the conditions I experienced during the Nazi occupation and my coming to America.

This book tells the story of our experiences with our health-care system. Be prepared to read about our emotional roller coaster and read the true details of what happened here in America. It is surely an eye-opener as well as a tearjerker.

It also tells about their family life, too. They both were the generation who saved the world from the evil of Nazism and the tyrant called Hitler. And they also suffered through the Depression. Both, especially my mother, were Christians with a strong faith that helped them through difficulties and hardships, and gave them joy and love all during their lifetime. And now, their love is eternal. Even in death, it continues for each other and their loving Savior Jesus Christ and his Father.

Her vampire half took over, and she gained many powers quickly. She had to go from place to place, town to town, because she was constantly being hunted.

Through all of life's trials and tribulation, how do we hold things together instead of drowning in our tears? We go to the place that taught us to fear less and forbear. The place where comfort came from prayer and taking leaps of faith were encouraged. Front Porch Love reminds me that the home I grew up in was a place to relent and always find mama and God. As my life spins out of control, I give the reigns to God. When we let Him lead the way, He guides us through the chaos and back to our happiness. He is always within our reach. He is the maker of everything. He is listing to each one of us and hears all of our prayers. Things may not happen when and how you like them to, but He is always supple making things. I found that as I began to get closer to God, I began to see the light at the end of the tunnel. As I dealt with marriage, divorce, illness and death, even different careers on this journey of life; oh!I have never forgotten the place I came from, or who's I am. Being close to Jesus made it possible to look to the future and have a life full of joy and love. Because I went back to the Front Porch Love of the house that built me often in person and in my heart, I feel victorious with life.

It is called the Cryo-Gyro. Instead of finding her husband's cryo-pod, she finds something else. When the water is collected from the Andromeda I Galaxy, most of the crew gets infected with a virus. The virus has a collective consciousness and wants to get to Earth. Theresa Bray teams up with other forces of the universe to destroy the virus before it reaches Earth.

Who's Here for Us?Men have been brought up throughout time to be the strong one, the breadwinner, the protector of others in times of need. We are the go-to guy, someone to help fix things that need repair, the shoulder to cry upon in times of sorrow, the pillar of strength that doesn't let emotions get the better of him, someone that helps others get through the most difficult times. But what about us?Throughout history, men have been raised to be that person. The one that doesn't show emotion or sorrow, self-doubt or insecurity because it has been taught to us that those are signs of weakness, and not to be tolerated. Crying is not something we do, and if one does, others look away or avoid them. We are supposed to man up and move ahead, get on with our lives, and show others that we are still that pillar of strength. But the death of a loved one, a wife, a soulmate, a partner is probably the worst and most traumatic event anyone can experience, and none of us are prepared for something like this in our lives. We are flooded with emotions and conflicting thoughts and teachings and have no one and nowhere to turn to give us guidance on what to do next. Family, friends, coworkers, and others are of little or no help, and few offer support for this journey you will be taking because they really don't know how, but there are other resources out there that you can seek out and utilize during this time. The purpose of this book is to, first and foremost, let you know that you are not alone. You are not the first man to experience these emotions, the confusion, and the insecurity of your new situation due to the loss of your loved one. Others have travelled this journey, mostly alone, and no one is really prepared for what is to come, but you don't have to be. Within these pages, there are suggestions that you can incorporate into your journey, and there are personal examples of what at least one other widower has experienced during that first year without his loved one. Through my journey of life from 1967 on, thoughts would come to mind. I started to write them down on small pieces of paper and notes were everywhere-in my car, on my home desk, in my pockets. I lost some. I threw some away. Then I started to keep them in a small box. One day, I gathered all and applied them into a notebook. Year after year, I collected these thoughts. This year 2017, I had thought to share my notes with others in a book, The Window. In one's honesty, these words are not intended to upset anyone who may differ. My philosophy comes from within my own brain. My words are true, so enjoy some laughter, sadness, and adventure, and smile.

Since the end of World War II, most people around the world regarded the United States as the land of opportunity. The baby boomers and Generation X knew it best as "e;the land of milk and honey."e; It was a place where people could easily raise a family and with hard work could achieve anything they set their mind to. The American Dream, a dream of a land where life is better, richer and fuller for everyone, was alive. Much has changed, though, in the past four decades. Most Americans today do not realize that since the early 1990s, when the world markets began to merge and globalization took place, America went through a significant transformation. Today, the America of yesterday, a place where children grew up to ultimately earn more than their parents, is no longer reality but, in most cases, just wishful thinking. In today's globalized world, working in America no longer feels any different than earning a living in Europe or Japan. Indeed, income levels and employment opportunities now appear to be similar. Be it "e;the Left Arm of God"e; or "e;the Octopus"e; or "e;the Gooney Bird,"e; all of these have been tagged to significant ballplayers in their major league careers. Besides the major leagues, which date back to the late 1800s, there is a wonderful parallel history of Negro Baseball teams, owners, and players and the powerful way in which nicknames were integral to the game. The integration of Major League Baseball, which began in 1947, when Jackie Robinson stepped on the field with the Brooklyn Dodgers, did not end the nickname era. There is also a revealing chapter on girls and women baseball players. The first game between two women's teams, where the players were paid for their play, dates back to the 1870s. Along with all the nicknames cited, there are over two hundred pictures of players categorized by their nicknames. The reader will recognize and identify with many of these nicknames, but one will find that far too many have been lost to the history of the game.
