    The residents of Baybridge on the west coast of Ireland were forgiving of the damp climate except when the clothes failed to dry on the line. Even on those days, they would not forfeit the stunning scenery surrounding them. Fiona Hannon, a local social worker, shared their sentiments and felt she knew her neighbours well. This belief was brought into question when compelling circumstances wove the lives of a ten-year-old girl, a retired teacher returned from India, a grumpy betting man with a green thumb, and the local shopkeeper into a multilayered fabric. Fiona found herself comparing the events of each day to hanging clothes on a clothesline. It was impossible to know at the start what these items would be. Would they flutter in the wind, drying easily, or remain too sodden to lift? No two clotheslines were alike, not even your own.

    Have you ever asked, "e;Lord, what do you want me to do"e;? This question could come during times of stress or hardship but it could also be simply our desire to do what He wants us to do. This book is a guide for a variety of situations or circumstances where we need divine guidance. All we have to do is ask Him for it. One thing is certain: none of us wants to come to the end of our life and realize we lived without ever sincerely asking the Lord what He wanted us to do. Blessed is the man or woman who can say on their deathbed, "e;Lord, I did what you wanted me to do."e; This will not happen unless we make it happen. Obedience to the Lord's commands often slips by without us asking, "e;Am I doing what the Lord wants me to do?"e;Is there anything more important than this? I don't think so. Open your heart for what the Lord wants for you. "e;Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee because he trusts in Thee"e; (Isaiah 26:3).

    My name? It's Sam, but that's not what matters. Look around. You can never know the full truth. Everyone has a secret to keep hidden. A burden, some less dangerous than others. A moral compass swings as choices have to be made. Willing to do almost anything to keep it. Become selfish and endanger another or become lost within your own thoughts. Dealing with something that no one is allowed to know. Fall deeper into one's mind as the secrets begin to unravel. How long until all will become revealed?

    The author has been a psychiatrist for thirty-nine years and has worked with thousands of patients. His impression is that many of their problems have to do with the way they process or deal with information. Often, maladaptive pathways of thinking are employed to the person's detriment. When this occurs, it tends to be repeated again and again and becomes habitual. Eventually, symptoms such as anxiety, depression, suicidal feelings and addiction are generated and become more and more problematic. In the author's experience, this can be interrupted by mentally training oneself to only travel down adaptive pathways of thinking. With this approach, old pathways of thinking are abandoned. There are a number of techniques that can be employed to establish and reinforce newer adaptive pathways of thinking. It's not for everybody and should not be used exclusively, but first and foremost among techniques is mindfulness. The author has seen it work again and again. Introduced to the world by Buddha for the purpose of enlightenment, nowadays it is used for mental health issues. The mindfulness here is different from the type taught in DBT. The author is not saying that DBT mindfulness doesn't work; it's just that he has seen better outcomes with the type he teaches. He learned the basics of it at IMS at Barre, Massachusetts, during various meditation retreats. Modern psychology does not address the invisible spiritual worlds that interface with the physical world. According to religious teachings, these worlds really exist and forces from them can influence our thinking. Reportedly, an archangel rebelled against God and was booted out of heaven. A third of the angels went down with him to earth. They seek to have us act in such a way so that when we die, they can claim our souls and torture us in hell. The present work at least addresses this issue. Likewise, energy medicine is discussed briefly.

    Bursting upon the National Hockey League scene in the fall of 1966 amid enormous hype and expectations, Robert Gordon "e;Bobby"e; Orr would go on to exceed all predictions of greatness. Displaying All-Star level ability from the start, it was his talent as a play maker and scorer that utterly revolutionized the game of hockey. At the same time, Orr helped revive a tired, long-suffering Boston Bruins team, leading them to their first Stanley Cup in twenty-nine years at the age of twenty-two. Orr and company would drink from the Cup again two years later as he continued to cement his legacy with MVP Awards and Norris Trophies. The unforgettable sight of him rushing the puck up ice with blond hair flying was a thing of sheer athletic beauty. But Orr's fragile knees plagued him throughout his career, ultimately forcing him to retire before the age of thirty. But in his ten years with the Bruins, the remarkable body of work and the greatness he achieved prompt many hockey historians to regard him as the all-around greatest, most skillful player in history. Number 4: Bobby Orr! is the most ambitious in-depth look at Orr and the Bruins' greatest decade.

    Master Sergeant William Cornett (United States Air Force) became yet another countless victim of the Department of Defense (DoD) noncombat health care system in the fall of 2013. His death was the direct result of unqualified people practicing medicine. Upon entering his provider's names through the National Provider Identifier (NPI) registry, it was noticed the individuals that signed their credentials as doctors were actually licensed as a student and a general practice dentist. In the twenty-first century, the DoD is abusing the casualty provisions put in place by President Abraham Lincoln to "e;care for him who shall have borne the battle, his widow, and orphan"e; to justify the most egregious medical disabilities and deaths of active duty service personnel and their families (Lincoln 1865). Military health care as currently provided by the DoD is driven by the Feres Doctrine, an antiquated law dating back to 1950. This law guarantees three items, including (1) the destruction of the integrity of military service families, (2) the inability of the military to be at its very best when defending the national and international interests of the United States, and (3) the continued abuse of casualty provisions with no accountability for this agency as it polices itself. It is long overdue to bring the DoD noncombat health care system into the twenty-first century. This includes ensuring all noncombat health care is administered by board-certified medical providers practicing within the scope of their practice and following the same EBP standards as their civilian counterparts. Although this type of health care is already mandated by the DOD Manual 6025.13, the standards are not being followed. Bringing the DoD health care system into the twenty-first century and amending the Feres Doctrine to apply only to combat health care is necessary (1) to protect the integrity of military service families, (2) to ensure the military will be at its best when defending the interests of this great nation, and (3) to provide a checks and balances system with accountability and oversight for an agency that is failing those that signed to defend our cherished freedoms!

    The Unsaid: Thoughts of a Quiet Man is poetry in a musical format. The title describes the author's personality and speaks volumes about his narrative, creativity, and thought process, giving insight into the mind of a musician and the different stages of conception. Ideas, verses, choruses and bridges, it's all on display for the reader to follow. The author bares his soul on songs like "e;Madonna,"e; a heartfelt plea from one lover to another. They are songs here everyone can relate to and find comfort in, as well as songs that are thought-provoking like "e;Bonnie,"e; a love song that's secretly not a love song. These are genuinely brilliant lyrics that can be enjoyed whether written or recorded. Some songs contained in this book were written for other artists to record and perform.

    The Civil War and the years of Reconstruction had finally ended. The small town of Tuskegee, Alabama, had quietly adjusted to the changes. I Am That I Am takes us to this demure town. Just when the scalawags and carpetbaggers ceased their tumultuous attempts to reorganize the South, a more sinister enemy appeared. The endless stretches of cotton flourishing during the hot days of summer abruptly ended. The ominous boll weevil with its insatiable appetite threatened the economy of the South. The white cotton was now brown and dying on the vines. Sarah, once a part of the antebellum gentry, proved to be a staunch ray of hope for both her family and her neighbors. One neighbor in particular was the equally resolute paradigm of Southern love and hospitality. This neighbor was Zachariah, a kind and humble soul who was raising his two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Mary. When Dr. George Washington Carver came to the recently opened school for Negroes (as the African Americans were called in those day), he found the help given by people such as Sarah and Zachariah, a refreshing reminder of God's providential hand. Even more surprising was the tenacious love of the people that transcended any color barriers that many would assume existed. Dr. Carver, a botanist, soon found the rare yet simple solution to the boll weevil epidemic-the tiny insect called the beetle. If only Sarah could find a solution to the dark and mysterious cloud that seemed to aggrieve her daughter-in-law. If only Zachariah could solve the mystery of the disappearing food from the barn.

Forty simple drawings by the author illustrate this whimsical yet gripping story, revealing the truth of what St. Francis de Sales once wrote, "e;The world is only peopled to people heaven."e;

    I take it back! How many times in life does a man or women utter these words? When we say something stupid or hateful, then we often ask for forgiveness and take it back. Sharp and piercing words stick in the mind like a coffee stain on a white shirt-it never totally goes away. If these same words are used regarding the life that a man or woman has lived, is the effect any different? The answer is obvious: forgiveness may come from an apology, but in life there is no do-overs, only change. Life starts out hard and remains hard in one way or another for all of us. Even if wealth and power is abundant from the beginning, the mental stress can be devastating. Hard work and determination are essential qualities on the road to success. When our work is finished for the day, hopefully there is time to play, and sometimes the games we play can lead to destruction. Along the road of life, we should have respect and concern for our fellow human beings' feelings. When morality and decency become strangers to our actions, when we are willing to step on anyone's throat to fulfill our desires, then the road of life can become dangerous, if not deadly. Thankfully, many people are not that ruthless in life. The journey of such evil debauchery and selfish desire can be experienced in Oriental Treat. If you desire to read a novel that can keep you wondering where such a woman's life will lead her, a story that you may easily relate to or feel overwhelming sympathy or contempt for her actions, then Oriental Treat is the next novel you should be reading.

They left Mizzie's step-grandmother, Ma Flo, a godly woman, and Mizzie's uncle, who is an aspiring preacher of God's Word. She is away from family and loved ones, other than her dear mother. This story is about two women who have gone through thick and thin since second grade. They did everything together and always had each other's backs. They were very compassionate about other people's feelings to the point that eventually they started a service to help men get what they wantedayes, that's right; they started this service to help men get over. Because the one thing they hated was women who messed with married men or messed with men who already had girlfriends. They despised women who only went after men who were already taken. Most of the men out there who are flashy, rich, and good-looking could have it all, but there are other guys that women wouldn't think twice to even look at, and those are the ones that are about to have the time of their livesathe ones who women think are not so good-looking and have no style, no game. Things are about to change. We all know that a man sometimes won't get a second look unless he is taken and has a lot of style. This is where the story of Jamere Elise Rodes and Taya Donic Morrison comes in. Sometimes the only way for a man to have a woman on his arm is when another woman knows he is taken, because jealousy is a heavy emotion; and with most women, all they want to do is prove to the other women that they are better, to the point to where as they can steal the other woman's man. Well, in this story, these two women are letting the other women steal their men. They are actually giving the other women their man, because any woman out there looking for somebody else's man deserves to be burned. Jealousy is not only a deeply felt emotion, but it could also be deadly.

    I didn't know that I was supposed to be looking for Jesus. Apparently, the Son of God Almighty decided that it was time to introduce himself to a young boy at the tender age of twelve. However, his brain had not even completely developed. In hindsight, he thought God Almighty had set him up because a man of God named Dale Bishop came to his school, offering summer camp, and as he lived in the hood, summer camp was just something . . . what's the word . . . demonically just kept out of reach. He would only see images on TV or in the movies, minibikes, horses, canoes, and campfires, because once he showed up excitedly to sign up to go to camp, the white man had sprung Jesus on them, as if it was some last-minute precondition to go to summer camp. However, unknown to him, some things are just too wonderful for mere men to understand. God himself showed and told him in a dream, in a moment of time, all the ways that he could please him. And it was more than the number of stars!Even grown up, hardened criminals run from God with even the slightest proposal of us being decent and upright, and of course, a child can't handle that spiritual reality. But it was a perfect match made in heaven, because the first moment that Tony heard the story of Jesus's life, death, and resurrection-in hindsight, after so long a time of associating Jesus, the Son of God, with Christmas toys, he hadn't even read the Bible-instantly his entire being was saturated, infused with the knowledge that this Jesus loved him with a love that was so past this understanding, a love that was totally complete. Excitedly, and armed with this incredible knowledge, he set out to tell everyone he knew or saw of this great love that Jesus has for us. But not understanding what he was truly up against, no one wanted to hear it then. A lot of the people don't want to hear it now. But the only thing that's different now is that he doesn't give a damn what they want to hear! But with an undeveloped brain, he freaked out, knowing that he'd never signed up for the moment that Satan had come with God and introduced himself, a being he'd associated with Halloween and candy, and in that moment, everything changed. A supernatural, living fear had gripped his heart, and of course, he stopped talking about Jesus, because people didn't want to hear about him anyway. But the more he ran, the more the powerful and up-and-very-personal-in-your-face supernatural events engulfed his entire being, until he had even become afraid a lot of times to go to sleep. However, after each supernatural encounter, unknown to him, Jesus filled in the blanks for him just to save him and set him free. While others stood around, posturing, looking all self-dignified, trying to feel or search for God in the holy Scriptures, he ran. But after each divine chastisement, he quickly realized that what God Almighty wanted him to do far outweighed what he wanted to do. "e;Keep my commandments, and live"e; (Prov. 7:2).

    This book is the story of the life and times of a young black man growing up in the Mississippi Delta, the struggles he endures and the accomplishments made as a result of those struggles. It takes you through the early years of his life and the challenges experience within his family as well as outside the family. It takes you, the reader, on a winding ride through the prejudices within families, and how the family continued to hold on to doing things a certain way because of lack of understanding that in this case would cause a child to suffer unnecessarily. It gives you a bird's-eye view of how people can be mistreated simply because they have been deemed to be different, sometimes even by those who are responsible for rearing them. Inside the covers, you will walk with Larry in his early years as he is thought to be slow or mentally disabled and through the years of desegregation as well as the process itself. You will also travel with him as loved ones exit his life one by one, and how he would house the memories of these loved ones to push him through the hard times. Inside is also an accounting of near-death experiences that will push him to the limit yet bring out a will in him that would complete the process in making him the man he is today. This is an intriguing story that will have the reader wondering what's next and how all of what happens between these pages is happening to just one person.
