Within this context, the book ¿Current Trends and Practices in Tourism¿, with a focus on tourism and hotel management terminology, is expected to be a source book for the theoretical and practical scientific studies in the fields with which tourism is in close relationship such as gastronomy, recreation and marketing.

El objetivo del libro consiste en estudiar la manera en la que los traductores recrean el estilo del autor polaco Bruno Schulz. La disertación abre con dos capítulos teóricos. En el marco analítico que incluye un corpus de 2000 fragmentos pretendemos averiguar de qué factores depende la elección de la técnica de traducción y qué consecuencias para la imaginería original puede acarrear. Las técnicas traductoras se catalogan según la clasificación de Hurtado Albir (2011). La aplicación de métodos cuantitativos nos ha permitido distinguir las técnicas más usadas. En cambio, el empleo de métodos cualitativos ha dejado patentes algunas tendencias que modifican el estilo autoral, tales como la frecuente omisión de repeticiones o la sustitución de metáforas por comparaciones.

Las artes escénicas exploran el patrimonio artístico y forman parte de una herencia común, transmitida por los artistas, los arquitectos, los escenógrafos que las construyen. La difusión de las obras, la recepción del público, las reacciones de la crítica son otros tantos testimonios que permiten reconstruir una época, un acontecimiento, una crisis. Los archivos documentales de los Teatros, de los creadores, de los investigadores demuestran los cambios económicos, sociales del siglo XXI, que han afectado a veces ciertas prácticas teatrales. Los veinticuatro estudios reunidos en este volumen dedicado al Profesor José Romera Castillo analizan las distintas facetas de la creación hispánica actual, la formación actoral, la arquitectura y los espacios, el alcance historiográfico de las obras y de los espectáculos, así como su evolución y su difusión.

Con motivo del 80 cumpleaños de Joseph T. Snow, una centena de investigadores se dio cita en 'Contarte he maravillas...'. Congreso Internacional de Estudios Medievales Hispánicos en honor a Joseph T. Snow (25-29 de octubre de 2021, Madrid). De las relaciones establecidas en dicho evento surge este volumen, dedicado a uno de los campos en los que más ha destacado el homenajeado: los estudios celestinescos. En él se han reunido 29 trabajos seleccionados que transcurren por sendas abiertas, descubiertas o restauradas por Joseph T. Snow en relación con la génesis y autoría de Celestina, sus temas, motivos y loci critici; su contexto socio-literario, su recepción en distintas lenguas y escenarios, y otras vías de investigación que se van perlando en el siglo XXI.

El presente libro es un homenaje a Juan Guerrero Zamora, director de escena, dramaturgo, ensayista, novelista y poeta en la posguerra española. Fue de gran importancia, además, su actividad en Radio Nacional de España y en la propia Televisión Español, como programador y realizador de espacios dramáticos Estudio 1, Gran Teatro y Fila Cero.

The collection also features photographs of Didion and her husband, John Gregory Dunne, with an accompanying essay by artist and photographer Nancy Ellison, plus a contribution by literary biographer Tracy Daugherty.

Este volumen es fruto del trabajo investigador realizado en el marco del proyecto de investigación DITAPE, Docencia e Investigación en Traducción Automática y Posedición (GV/2021/080), financiado por la Conselleria de Educación, Universidades y Empleo de la Generalitat Valenciana. El objetivo principal consiste en radiografiar la situación actual del sector profesional de la traducción en España en conexión con las tecnologías de la traducción y, en concreto, con la traducción automática. La obra recoge 7 contribuciones en las que se ofrece una visión de conjunto de la situación del mercado profesional actual al tiempo que se exponen los hallazgos más recientes sobre la percepción y el impacto que tiene el uso de la traducción automática y la posedición en el sector, las tendencias de futuro, así como otras cuestiones de calado relacionadas con la ética socioprofesional.

In the world's so-called honor and face cultures, certain values and codes related to the protection of a family's stainless reputation are deep-rooted. When they are violated by what is perceived as an immoral action, and the respective transgression becomes known, the honor not only of the deviant, but also of the in-group itself is damaged. This leads to stigmatization followed by collective rejection. Consequently, the stigma needs to be removed, usually by a publicly recognizable punitive action taken against those who caused this loss of honor or face, which is experienced as a kind of social death. The punishments range from psychological to physical violence, sometimes including murder. With attention to social science as well as works of fiction, this book studies such punitive measures that affect both women and men by also taking into account intercultural contexts of migration and ethnic minorities. Attention is equally devoted to movies that deal with the consequences of honor and face loss. The book is endorsed by the celebrated Turkish writer Elif Shafak.

Empathie ist eine wichtige Fähigkeit zur Übernahme fremder Sichtweisen. Sie spielt nicht nur im alltäglichen Umgang mit Mitmenschen, sondern auch bei der Filmrezeption eine große Rolle. Basierend auf verschiedenen Empathiekonzepten philosophischer, psychologischer und filmwissenschaftlicher Provenienz wird im vorliegenden Buch ein neues Forschungsthema erschlossen: eine Zweite-Person-Empathie im Film. Aber können Zuschauer*innen überhaupt über die Übernahme der "Erste-Person"-Perspektive einer Filmfigur hinausgehen? Können sie Filmfiguren - wie ein "Du" - in einer Art "Zweite-Person"-Interaktion kennenlernen? Können sie über die "Dritte-Person"-Bewertung bzw. über eine moralische Evaluation hinausgehen, können sie Empathie für eine unmoralische Filmfigur empfinden? Im Rahmen einer qualitativen empirischen Studie gibt der Band Antworten auf diese Fragen.

This book encompasses a number of original studies on diversity in cognition. This topic is examined from a wide range of perspectives, including psycholinguistics, linguistic relativity, applied linguistics as well as second language and bilingualism research. The methodological approaches vary from linguistic descriptions and corpus analyses to experimental methods such as eye-tracking or speech elicitation. The book shows that diversity in cognition plays a key role in linguistics encoding, event conceptualization, reception of music and general literacy. Cognitive diversity can even be seen to shape human interaction and communication. The book offers new insights and fresh approaches to the discourse on diversity in and beyond cognition.

Neque enim debet nocere factum alterius ei qui nihil fecit - «denn das Verhalten eines anderen darf niemandem zum Nachteil gereichen, der nichts gemacht hat». Dieser Grundsatz der eigenen Verantwortlichkeit dominiert das Haftungsrecht der römischen Klassik. Die exegetische Analyse klassischer Rechtstexte zur locatio conductio zeigt, dass der Grundsatz der eigenen Verantwortlichkeit jedoch über keine unumstößliche Wirkung verfügt. So gibt es Fragmente, die eine Haftung für das Verhalten anderer Personen vorsehen. Unter Berücksichtigung der sozioökonomischen Gegebenheiten der römischen Antike rekonstruiert die auf Quellenuntersuchungen basierende Studie unterschiedliche Modelle der Haftung für das Verhalten anderer Personen bei der locatio conductio.

Mit dem Gesetz zur Verbesserung der Zusammenarbeit im Bereich des Verfassungsschutzes vom 17. November 2015 schuf der Gesetzgeber erstmalig in der bundesdeutschen Geschichte gesetzliche Regelungen für den Einsatz von nachrichtendienstlichen Vertrauenspersonen. Diese Regelungen enthalten gesetzliche Rechtfertigungsgründe sowie eine bereichsspezifische Opportunitätsvorschrift der Staatsanwaltschaften bei begangenen Straftaten von V-Personen und verdeckt arbeitenden (Verfassungsschutz-)Mitarbeiter:innen. Der Autor überprüft, ob die neuen Regelungen die durch das Rechtsstaatsprinzip gesetzten Grenzen überschreiten und die Aufrechterhaltung einer funktionstüchtigen Strafrechtspflege konterkariert.

Das Strafbefehlsverfahren ist in der Praxis unverzichtbar, um die Vielzahl anStrafverfahren bewältigen zu können. Dennoch birgt es nicht unerheblicheRisiken für Fehlentscheidungen. In dieser Arbeit werden die strukturellenSchwächen des Verfahrens und die Ursachen für Fehlentscheidungen untersucht.Dabei wird insbesondere die Anwendung des Verfahrens in der Praxisin den Blick genommen. Eine begleitende Befragung von Richtern undStrafverteidigern sowie Experteninterviews mit Staatsanwälten stellen nebender Auswertung einschlägiger Statistiken einen wertvollen Praxisbezug her.Betrachtet werden in einem weiteren Schwerpunkt auch die Besonderheitender Anwendung des Verfahrens in den besonders umfangreichen WirtschaftsundSteuerstrafverfahren.

Band 89 des Wiener Slawistischen Almanachs enthält vor allem zwei thematische Blöcke, die sowohl slawische Kulturen selbst als auch ihre Rezeption auf einer Metaebene umfassen. Zum einen sind dies mehrsprachige Materialien der Tagung «Periodicals in the Slavic World. Contemporary and Historical Perspectives», die in München im Oktober 2021 unter der Teilnahme von Redakteur*innen mehrerer führender slawistischer Zeitschriften stattfand. Der zweite Block beinhaltet englischsprachige Beiträge des Online-Symposiums «Mad Fridays: Literature and Psychiatry in Late Imperial Russia» (2021). Neben diesen thematischen Blöcken enthält der Band einen Beitrag zur politischen Ökologie des Treibhauses in der russischen Literatur sowie fünf Rezensionen zu Neuerscheinungen in der europäischen Slawistik.

Die als Reaktion auf den VW-Abgasskandal eingeführte Musterfeststellungsklage endet mit einem Urteil, das keine konkreten Leistungsansprüche festsetzt. Die Verbraucher müssen im Anschluss eine weitere Klage auf Leistung erheben. Der Autor setzt sich mit der Frage auseinander, ob sich die als Leistungsklage strukturierte Phase nicht durch Methoden der Alternativen Streitbeilegung substituieren lässt. Bei der Untersuchung widmet er sich typischen Einigungshindernissen vor und nach dem Musterfeststellungsurteil, typischen Vergleichsinhalten bei Massenschadensfällen und ordnet die Instrumente der Alternativen Streitbeilegung als Handlungsoption ein. Schließlich befasst sich der Autor mit der Ausgestaltung eines konkreten AS-Verfahrens zur vergleichsweisen Beilegung von Massenschadensfällen.

The book examines the role of the Spanish connective a pesar de ello in recovering counter-argumentative and anaphoric relations. The study follows experimental pragmatics and the use of eye-tracking methods. Results show limits of procedural instruction as affected by grammaticalization & anaphoric instruction.

We selected ten post-communist countries for this research. Eight of them are located on the Balkan Peninsula, from a geographical point of view. We added Romania and Slovenia for historical reasons. The main aim of research is to provide a model of the media system in each of them. We are interested in the political, societal, economic and technological situation, journalistic standards and media accountability. The important thing is to know how media systems evolve in each country, under the influence of political institutions and external stakeholders. We examined how political, media, economic and social systems co-work or influence each other and how they affect each other.

The dynamic development of biotechnologies and the deepening knowledge of natural and information sciences expand the possibilities of human modification. In this book, the ideas of transhumanism and posthumanism are analyzed from several philosophical perspectives, examining their overlap with artistic expression. The possible ontological, ethical, and social implications associated with the fulfillment of transhumanist and posthumanist visions are explored, as well as the validity of traditional philosophical concepts under these new conditions. Additionally, the influence of transhumanist and posthumanist ideas on literary, visual, cinematic, and digital art is analyzed, and interpretative possibilities are explored.

La presente monografía está destinada a reivindicar una figura poco conocida del panorama artístico español fuera de Cataluña: Ramon Calsina Baró (1901-1992), un pintor difícil de encuadrar, lo que no le impidió desarrollar una notable e influyente trayectoria. Para ello nos centramos en dos de sus aportaciones como ilustrador: por un lado, inspiradas en Don Quijote, las litografías publicadas por Osa Menor (1958) y las ilustraciones editadas por Nauta (1967) y, por otro, los dibujos basados en la obra literaria de Edgar A. Poe (dieciocho dibujos ¿preparatorios¿ y las viñetas definitivas publicadas por Nauta en 1971). Es esta la primera vez que se publican al completo y de manera conjunta las dos series de dibujos originales.

La resistencia es inherente al poder y consustancial a la escritura. Bajo esta premisa, el presente volumen reúne más de una quincena de trabajos que atienden a los modos y formas en que la literatura contemporánea se enfrenta al poder.

The monograph explores the heritage of Central and Eastern Europe, which is particularly important nowadays in the era of globalization, on the one hand, and nationalism, on the other, and the war on the third hand. It can indicate ways to "face" the challenges Europe is currently facing. The research on the heritage issue aims to foster a greater understanding of the various mechanisms of today's social and political decision-making. This publication is the result of the work of a team of scholars whose research explores the subject of the heritage and who represent countries and cultures belonging to the region. This is, therefore, research done from within according to the Latin principle: "Nihil novi nisi commune consensu" (Nothing new without the common consent). The publication allows defining terms and shows the distinctive features of the culture and value system characteristic of Central and Eastern Europe. It deals with issues related to the commemoration of the region's heritage and the issue of what is excluded from the heritage, what is forgotten, and what is overlooked.

Arbeitgeberleistungen jenseits des reinen Arbeitsentgelts sind seit langer Zeit ein beliebtes Mittel zur Bindung und Incentivierung von Beschäftigten. Dieses Buch setzt sich mit dem Schicksal der heute gängigsten Leistungsverpflichtungen, insbesondere Mitarbeiterkapitalbeteiligungen, Erfolgsbeteiligungen und Überlassung von Wohnraum bei einem Betriebsübergang auseinander. Der Autor geht in diesem Zusammenhang insbesondere der Frage nach, inwieweit Leistungsverpflichtungen des Arbeitgebers auch ohne ausdrückliche Vereinbarung der Parteien des Arbeitsverhältnisses beschränkbar sind und beleuchtet die Folgen von Leistungshindernissen, die beim Betriebserwerber eintreten.

Im Zuge der Finanzmarktnovellierungsgesetze wurden die Befugnisse der BaFin stark ausgeweitet. Der Autor untersucht die neue und besonders eingriffsintensive Befugnis zur Vermögenssicherstellung (§ 6 Abs. 13 WpHG). Dabei stellt er zunächst Inhalt und Zielsetzung dar, bevor die Frage der Verfassungsmäßigkeit der Vorschrift untersucht wird. An die Erörterung der Anforderungen des rechtsstaatlichen Bestimmtheitsgebots schließen sich die Prüfung der Vorschrift und der Versuch einer verfassungskonformen Rechtsfortbildung an. Hierbei bettet der Autor die vorliegende Problematik in das Spannungsfeld zwischen Grundrechtsschutz und effektiver Strafverfolgung ein. Auf das Verdikt der Verfassungswidrigkeit folgt der Vorschlag einer Alternativregelung.

Meaning lies at the very heart of the development of language. Therefore, it is not surprising that the linguists have long been fascinated by the study of meaning, from the early days of the discipline to the present. Over time, the approach to meaning has evolved, shifting from structuralist analyses of linguistic signs to a focus on the combinatory potential of grammatical structures. Currently, the dominant cognitive-semantics approach examines meaning in relation to concepts and the abilities of the human brain. One of the most intriguing questions throughout the history of semantics has been the relationship between an individual and the linguistic community within the framework of the wider sign-meaning relation. This essential but insufficiently explored relationship was the central topic of the 33rd International Conference of the Croatian Applied Linguistics Society.

Issus des conflits mémoriels de la société française d'après-guerre, les musées de la Résistance sont désormais des acteurs de premier plan dans la mise en valeur de l'héritage et l'animation culturelle. Étudier le rôle des musées en tant que médiateurs entre le passé, le présent et l'avenir est l'axe central de ce travail qui repose sur les recherches des principaux experts français et allemands. La présente étude ne se penche pas seulement sur l'exposition - au coeur de la médiation muséale - mais aussi sur l'ensemble de cette institution complexe. L'analyse des mises en récit, en scène et en espace du passé révèle le positionnement des musées par rapport à l'histoire de la Résistance, mais aussi leur vision de l'avenir de la mémoire et leur idée de la démocratie et des valeurs humanistes.

The Maastricht Treaty remains a crossroad in the history of European integration. Since its ratification, policy areas at the core of the national sovereignties have been included in the Brussels agenda, the power balance between the European institutions has started to mutate, and the European Union affairs have progressively become a controversial issue in the public debate. The goal of the book is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the politicization of European affairs. The final aim is to assess the institutional and socio-political impact of EU politicization, detecting how the European elites could exploit the saliency gained by European affairs to enhance the legitimacy and effectiveness of the European institutions.

Zu Beginn der Untersuchung arbeitet der Verfasser die Faktoren für die marktübergreifende Machtkonzentration von Google Search heraus. Darauf aufbauend geht er der Frage nach, inwiefern die Änderungen, die durch die 10. GWB-Novelle vorgenommen wurden, zum Abbau dieser Machtkonzentrationen geeignet sind. Im Zentrum der Arbeit steht dabei die neue Form der kartellrechtlichen Macht - die "überragende marktübergreifende Bedeutung für den Wettbewerb" aus § 19a GWB. Den Abschluss bildet ein Blick auf den Digital Markets Act, der auf EU-Ebene entwickelt wurde. Hier stellt sich insbesondere die Frage, wie sich das nationale Recht zum Digital Markets Act verhält.

Reading is considered as one of the most challenging and difficult abilities in learning a foreign language which also serves as a basis for developing other competences. The monograph presents and discusses in detail a novel multi-stage research study on the acquisition and development of reading comprehension skills in trilingual advanced learners. It examines the use of reading strategies in two experiments involving Polish students of English and German, and the impact of strategic training in one foreign language on its autonomous employment in the next one. The obtained results are subject to a thorough statistical analysis which allows for drawing significant conclusions concerning the process of reading comprehension in trilingual advanced learners.
