Composed for the American amateur saxophonist Elise Hall in 1903, Debussy left the orchestration incomplete at his death. The task of finishing the orchestral score fell to Jean Roger-Ducasse, who prepared the orchestral version in time for its premiere on May 14, 1919 in Paris, conducted by Debussy's student André Caplet. The present study score is a digitally-enhanced reprint of the score issued by Durand et Cie. in 1919. Parker's first Christmas cantata was composed in 1893 just before his departure from New York to his new post as organist for Trinity Church in Boston. The text was written after scriptural accounts by the composer's mother Isabella Graham Parker (1839-1904). This new vocal score is a digitally-enhanced reproduction of the one first issued in 1893 by G. Schirmer, New York.

Though originally composed for piano four-hands, Satie was persuaded to orchestrate these pieces for a concert staged by Jean Cocteau presented on 21 February 1920 featuring works by Milhaud, Poulenc, and Auric. Dvorak's second set of Slavonic Dances was composed in response to a request from his German publisher, N. Simrock, in the wake of the tremendous popularity of the first set (Op. 46). Debussy's sole completed opera was given its premiere at Paris' Opera Comique on April 30, 1902. It was the culmination of an eight-year effort on the composer's part.
