An assassin's campaign of revenge against the unwitting Kat Fernando, shocks Europe and the western world as members of a recent coalition of European government representatives are being brutally murdered. Apparently, there is no doubt about assassin's identity because she makes sure that everyone knows she is the infamous Anita Franco. In fact the assassin is Hedda Jäger, and she taking revenge for the deaths of her brother Edward and Uncle Ähern. She blames Anita Franco for their deaths, but it was the joint coalition that ordered the American missile strike on Ähern Jäger's fortress in Italy which supposedly killed them. She doesn't know that Anita was the alias Kat had used while working undercover. With her daughter Sara, Sara's nanny, Rose, and the love of Deacon Loats, Kat thinks she has finally found the quiet, normal life she had always dreamt of. That quiet becomes anything but when she discovers what Hedda is doing and she must prove her innocence. Aware of what is going on Kat's former employer, US Military Counterintelligence wants to make sure that Kat is where she is supposed to be. MCI agent Raini Hannamansigh is sent up to Toronto to confirm that she is or is not the assassin. Raini reports that she is innocent, Yet there is someone else at MCI who has a score to settle with Kat. He feels that she embarrassed him during an earlier mission in Europe and leads a squad of killers to raid her house in Toronto. Raini realises that MCI doesn't really want Kat to be innocent so she quits and joins Kat to help clear her name. Kat's house has a self destruct system that she engages when the killers arrive. When everyone thinks she is dead she, Sara, Rose and Raini escape. Kat and Raini leave Canada and fly away with Deacon to Portugal and from there the two women go in search of the imposter Anita Franco. They discover the assassin's real name and find her house near Fragilliana, Spain. Just as they get there to take Hedda prisoner they are passed by a hit squad who were sent to kill the woman, and they discover that Hedda's house also had a self destruct system and the the killers are caught in the terrible explosions. One man survives long enough to give Kat the name of the man behind the raid, Siggy Kraft. He was the one who gave Hedda the false information and feared that Hedda was coming for him. Now it is Kat and Raini who arrive at his door in Zurich just in time to see Hedda leaving. A car chase ensues which finally ends in disaster asHedda dies from previous injuries and blames Kat. Once again Kat and Raini run for their lives as the police and the MCI killers hunt for them. The police in Germany and Spain compare notes and realize that Kat is completely innocent and call of the manhunt. But the MCI killers keep going and follow Kat and Raini to England where they go to ground. British police are not informed of the developments across the Channel and are still looking for them. They are caught by a small town police force and sent to London but on the way the hit team takes them for a final helicopter ride. Raini is shot dead. Kat manages to kill the leader of the squad before he can jump out with the other leaving Kat to crash into the ocean. They didn't know that the helicopter is the type she was trained on. She gains control and flies back to England where she is arrested. She explains her situation and is about to be released when two of the kill squad arrive at RNAS Yeovilton to finish the job. At the same time Deacon arrive to take Kat home. She escapes that attempt and goes to London with Deacon. When they are free at last, Hedda's brother Edward returns for the dead and kills Deacon just moments after Kat said she was finally ready to marry him. Edward fatally shoots her seconds before he himself is shot dead. Kat lives long enough to think only of her daughter Sara. The End.

It's really great. It's like they're all here. I hear all of these voices and I sing with them, you know? - Yikliya Eustace Tipiloura, senior songman and ElderPerhaps the most defining feature of Tiwi song is the importance placed on the creative innovation of the individual singer/composer. Tiwi songs are fundamentally new, unique and occasion specific, and yet sit within a continuum of an oral artistic tradition. Performed in ceremony, at public events, for art and for fun, songs form the core of the Tiwi knowledge system and historical archive. Held by song custodians and taught through sung and danced ritual, generations of embodied practice are still being created and accumulated as people continue to sing.In 2009 Genevieve Campbell and eleven Tiwi colleagues travelled to Canberra to reclaim over 1300 recordings of Tiwi songs, made between 1912 and 1981, that are held in the archives at the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS). The Old Songs are Always New explores the return home of these recordings to the Tiwi Islands and describes the musical and vocal characteristics, performance context and cultural function of the twelve Tiwi song types, giving an overview of the linguistic and poetic devices used by Tiwi composers. For the past 16 years Campbell has been working closely with Tiwi song custodians, studying contemporary Tiwi song culture in the context of the maintenance of traditions and the development of new music forms. Their musical collaboration has resulted in public performances, community projects and recordings featuring current senior singers and the voices of the repatriated recordings. For this publication, Elders have enabled the transcription of many song texts and melodies for the first time, shedding light on how generations of Tiwi singers have connected the past with the present in a continuum of knowledge transmission and arts practice.

From the delights of newly-born lambs, through the beauty of an antique bottle, to the pain of loneliness, the small things in life give rich ground for poetry. Minutiae is a collection inspired by the hidden gems and the tiny jewels that reflect light in our lives.Kirsten Johnston is a poet from regional South Australia. She writes to give the small moments of life a voice-to capture fleeting instances and impressions and bring to light the tiny joys, anomalies and beauties that are often missed. The other half of Kirsten's creative life is her work as a visual artist in which she paints large-scale abstract pieces for exhibition and sale, often inspired, like her poetry, by small treasures within our existence.

This book is a celebration of the incredible and unique qualities that autistic children have. It highlights their strengths and challenges the negative stereotypes that too often surround autism. Through personal experience, scientific research, and expert opinions, I explore the ways in which autistic children see the world differently, and how this perspective can lead to remarkable creativity and originality. From their intense focus and attention to detail, to their remarkable memory and abilities, autistic children have so much to offer the world. In future books I will address the difficulties that autistic children may face, from sensory overload to communication differences. I emphasize the importance of understanding and valuing these differences, rather than trying to 'cure' or 'normalize' them. My goal is to shift the conversation around autism from one of "deficiencies" to one of celebration. I hope to inspire parents, educators, and society at large to see the immense value and potential in all autistic children, and to create a world that is more accepting and accommodating of neurodiversity.

Since its early teaching activity in 1936, the North Carolina Dental Public Health program has had an outstanding 80-year history that is summarized into five themes. It has served as a key resource for training the dentists in public health, which has benefited the state of North Carolina. It has provided the science base for improving oral health with new prevention technologies. The program has advanced public health practice and collaborations with state and federal agencies, and it has maintained a robust research program that developed methods for solving population-based problems. Finally, it has offered a comprehensive teaching program that supported the knowledge base for the MPH program and research methods for PhD students in epidemiology and health services research. The UNC research focus on early childhood caries reversed the increase observed in statewide surveys, and its prevention methods have been adopted nationally. Rozier also documents the first courses in dental public health which provided definitions and direction for the specialty.Oral diseases are largely preventable, but they affect more than three billion people worldwide. First in the Nation is elegantly convincing in its message?that a major health sciences campus without a comprehensive Dental Public Health academic program is intellectually devoid of part of its purpose for being.

One size does not fit all when it comes to education. In modern society, education has been and continues to be shaped, informed, and driven by a so-called "grammar of schooling": an approach which completely ignores the many and diverse identities that learners own, are given, and encounter. Categorising students into neat, labelled boxes, splintering knowledge into strictly defined subjects, and fracturing learning - this grammar of schooling desperately needs rewriting.Through narratives from teachers, students, and their families, this book explores the lived experiences of those who are forced to live with the current approach, and the consequences for their lives, relationship, and education. It also asks the question of what creative and holistic alternative approaches might look like - when the rules aren't working, the rulebook can be rewritten.

A landmark of the Weimar Republic, Ernst Toller's Hoppla, We're Alive! is one of the founding works of what would later be come to known as the epic theater and a powerful portrait of a fragile democracy at war with itself, inevitably corrupted from within by the rising forces of capitalism and fascism. Karl Thomas, a participant in the failed Soviet-style revolutions of 1918, has spent the past eight years in a mental hospital. Released into the Germany of 1927, Karl Thomas encounters each of his former comrades in a world where all of the lessons of the first world war and the revolution seem to have been forgotten. Building to a powerful and tragic climax, Toller's play has lost none of its power to shock, provoke, and awaken readers. This translation, adapted from its performance at La Mama in the fall of 2019, is an attempt to reconcile the play's multiple extant drafts and divided meanings. I would like to thank the rest of the LUDZ collective (Lloyd Huber, set and projections designer, Ulrich Lehman, dramaturg, and Zishan Ugurlu, director) for their vision and faith in bringing Hoppla its first North American production. In the winter of 1939, 12 years after he had staged this play in Weimar Berlin, Piscator was invited to open the Dramatic Workshop at the New School, long a home for artists and intellectuals in exile. Under Piscator's leadership, the Dramatic Workshop would come to be perhaps themes influential theater school in the United States, instrumental in the careers of Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, Harold Clurman, Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller, Marlon Brando, and Judith Malina. Earlier that spring, Piscator met for coffee with Toller to discuss a future project. Two days later, on May 22, 1939, Toller hanged himself, in what was then the Mayflower Hotel off Central Park West.Berlinica Publishing LLC is a multi-media publishing house based in New York City; with its sister company Berlinica Publishing UG based in Berlin. Being retired was supposed to be easy. No drama, no family, no problems. Considering Ernie is a god, he should have known better. In this collection of short stories, Ernie struggles to live a quiet life as Death loses his scythe, a genie wants a holiday, and Ernie's family keeps dropping in. Then there's Ragnarok. Because who doesn't need an end-of-the-world event to keep things calm and quiet? But it doesn't stop there. This collection contains a brand new bonus short story where Ernie is asked to mediate a feud between Dragons. With tensions running high, maybe the poker game hadn't been the best idea. Also included in this collection are a series of flash fiction originally published on my blog. Follow Ernie as he deals with Cupid shooting the wrong person, Wererabbits for April Fools, Santa stuck in the chimney, and what happens to snowmen when the weather changes. The Life and Chaos of a Retired Old God is a collection of humorous short stories where Ernie learns that quiet is the last thing he's going to get.

There's a mystical vibration surrounding this work for a couple of reasons. First, the museum-quality artwork is in a league of its own. Second, the messages from the four poets transcend time and bounce off the walls of remembering.Putting this book together and contributing to the messages opened another psychic avenue for me to travel.Reading Rumi's 800-hundred-year-old thoughts again was a treat. And then absorbing more esoteric thoughts from a non-physical personality called Seth brought me to an exhilarating bend in my awareness trail. The underlying message in this book is a simple one. Our beliefs create our perceptions. And the choices from those perceptions become our experiences in some way.The trick is identifying our intricate belief system. We have core beliefs about religion, science, sex, relationships, perception, the senses, duplicity, physical creation, emotion, and truth. And they help create our reality.Mixed in with those core beliefs are beliefs we create through associations and influences. Those psychic messages color the various aspects of our core beliefs. So, sifting through a system that started before birth and continues as we age is a challenging task.In the book,¿¿Paul Harmon's verbal artistry brings clarity to his creative mission. With innate understanding, Harmon uses words to describe what he manifests physically. Harmon fans, and new friends, will come away knowing more about Paul Harmon and his value-fulfilling works of art after visiting The Lawn Party. Seth drops a few hints about belief sifting. And Rumi lets us know our beliefs connect us no matter the language. His different introductions to the 30 short non-marked chapters signal a change in the poetic weather in some way. The 30 chapters flow into each other, thanks to Harmon's poetic review of his work and his incredible Her Face art collection.
