A forward thinking Thomas Jefferson recognizes the importance of the great Mississippi River drainage and tasks his most trusted man, Meriwether Lewis, to explore its most important tributary, the mighty Missouri River, seeking a Northwest Passage to the Pacific Ocean. Jefferson's "Corps of Discovery" is to collect flora & fauna along the way, and most importantly to make contact and document the region's indigenous peoples.
