This edited volume-the first book devoted to the topic of contract cheating-brings together the perspectives of leading scholars presenting novel research. Contract cheating describes the outsourcing of students' assessments to third parties such that the assignments or exams students submit are not their own work. While research in this area has grown over the past five years, the phenomenon has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Themes addressed in this book include the definition of contract cheating, its prevalence in higher education, and what motivates students to engage in it. Chapter authors also consider various interventions that can be used to address contract cheating's threat to academic integrity in higher education including: assessment practice, education, detection strategies, policy design, and legal interventions.

Australian Western in the Fifties: Kangaroo, Hopalong Cassidy on Tour, and Whiplash looks at Australian Westerns from three points of view-film, personal appearance, and television at the beginning, middle, and end of the 1950s, the American Western's golden age. It looks at three significant but "e;forgotten"e; cases: (1) Kangaroo: The Australian Story, the first Technicolor film made in Australia, produced by the Hollywood movie studio 20th Century Fox, directed by the Academy Award-winning filmmaker Lewis Milestone, starring Maureen O'Hara, Peter Lawford, and Richard Boone. (2) The successful goodwill tour of Australia by the Hollywood actor William Boyd who played the film, radio, and television cowboy Hopalong Cassidy. (3) The British-American produced black-and-white TV series Whiplash, made in Australia and starring the Hollywood actor Peter Graves. The American filmmakers' ignorance of Australia meant they learned the hard way there was more to Australian Westerns than simply replacing the prairie with the bush, bison with kangaroos, and Native Americans with Aboriginals. Indeed, the depiction of place and the presentation of Aboriginal culture are two of the most intriguing aspects of Australian Westerns. In retelling the filmmakers' stories, a unique picture of the Australian film and television industry and everyday life during the 1950s is revealed.  

This book offers comprehensive coverage of naturopathic medicine. The principles and values of this profession are already clearly stated (i.e., Find and Treat the Cause; Treat the Whole Person, etc.), but few are the textbooks that provide a clear exposition of what the approach is that differs from what is described as conventional or allopathic medicine. The toolkit - herbs or nutrients - then becomes the defining feature, but this is not the most important attribute. To paraphrase the historian of medicine Harris Coulter - in this approach the body reacts creatively to stressors - and the Empirical school or natural medicine approach is more focused on supporting adaptive responses than suppressing symptoms. Or to put it another way, naturopathic physicians certainly do things to ameliorate symptoms, but their real interest is to discern what disturbances to the determining factors of health lead to imbalances, physiological dysfunction, and are generating the symptoms.  This is not an attempt to argue that all health issues can get better on their own or that conventional medical interventions aren't capable of producing stellar outcomes. Conventional medicine holds great value, but there remains a concurrent need for a naturopathic approach that helps rebuild the body.There is a need for an approach in medicine that works to support adaptive responses of the body, reduce maladaptive responses, address determining factors of health, and sometimes create temporary homeostasis with agents such as drugs (or certain natural medicines) can play to maintain life when the body's healing responses are insufficient. This book takes this approach and begins by examining what health is and then what states lead to disease. In terms of the basis of disease states, the book teaches about how the lack of coordination in the body's bioregulatory systems (hormones, nervous system, cell signaling) can lead to disease, as well as the impact of irreversible degeneration, genetic damage, chronic stress, etc. The book takes the reader to some of the more common and well described reasons for these states of dysfunction, including the body's inability to process environmental toxins and disruptions to the human microbiome. The book then teaches how to assess a patient, and how various natural therapies impact root causes of disease, the long term consequences, and the various clinical manifestations.The book then takes a systems approach - cardiovascular, pulmonary, etc. This is where most books on the subject start, but instead of breaking out a  number of conditions and giving protocols of diet, supplements, herbs etc., the author examines how to restore stability and function to that system. There is in depth coverage of how to confront degenerative processes that make self-healing far more challenging, or perhaps not entirely attainable. The application of the model of healing outlined in previous chapters is applied to each system. Special topics are then covered, ranging from lifespan/primary care considerations to the role of research, the rise of advanced data analytics as decision assistance, to the environmental, cultural, and global determinants of health. Each chapter will additionally include tables that summarize key diagnosis or treatment points, arrayed in an order that reflects the model presented in the book.This is an ideal guide for students in naturopathic medicine, as well as physicians and medical professionals looking to learn more about this field aimed towards maximizing patient resilience.

Energy policies play a pivotal part in helping countries achieve their sustainable development goals. Further, energy is one of the critical raw materials in companies' production processes. On the whole, the book is very well illustrated, not only with endoscopic photos, but also with a lot of illustrative drawings which complement and add to the quality of the chapters. I am sure that this is a book that will be read, not only by laryngologists in Europe and outside, but also used in the teaching of residents and those superspecializing in laryngology. As one of the founding members of ELS and President of EUFOS, I must congra- late all the authors and editors of this European Textbook on Larynx and Trachea. Our world is facing unprecedented technological development, which affects all the sectors of society. The 4th industrial revolution has brought numerous advances that are currently integrated in our daily life, including artificial intelligence (A.I.), internet of things (IoT), genetic engineering, 3D-printing and robotics. The health care sector is one of the most impacted by these technologies of the so-called digital era. From the simple advent of medical records to robotic surgery, health care has significantly changed from the XX to XXI century and is constantly changing, incorporating novel technologies. Nephrology is itself an innovative branch of medicine, created as a discipline in the 1960s, with breakthrough inventions, such as the dialysis machine, which made it possible to prolong life of those who suffer from chronic kidney disease; kidney transplant, with point-of-care immunosuppression that favours maintenance of kidney allografts for long years; kidney biopsy, which made it possible to discover the mysteries of glomerulonephritis and nephropathology. Novel technologies, such as A.I., IoT, robotics, stem cells, 3D-printing, mHealth, eHealth and several others are starting to be applied in nephrology, with promising results. It is possible that a great part of these technologies will become routinely available in clinical practice, and the burden of kidney diseases will significantly decrease once prevention, prediction, detection, monitoring and treatment of kidney diseases are more precise, with patients taking part in the process and becoming more and more connected. This book gathers essential information on the technologies that have been applied in nephrology and that can be applied in the future, with real possibilities of improving the care of kidney diseases. This book explores how the U.S. has been in the throes of a startup revolution, fueled by a risk-taking culture. There has been a growth of young startup from 1994, accelerating after 2010 through the present day. Most entrepreneurial activity is in the professional and business services sector, which comprises technical services as well as research and development.However, new establishments face a low survival rate, suggesting that starting businesses is not the problem, sustaining their development and growth is the principal challenge. A paradox is presented by the simultaneous presence of declining labor force participation rate among prime working age adults, a decrease in productivity growth rates in the past decade and a startup revolution.There are five native skills that are acquired by experience rather than formal education: resourcefulness, practical intelligence, over-optimism and personal initiative. These are built on a foundation of attributes that form the culture of risk-taking and decision-making. Underlying values and beliefs include collaboration, openness to new ideas, an awareness of the environment and the needs of people in your radius of interaction. A strongly embedded community forms the essence of entrepreneurial culture, and its values cannot be taught, they must be learned through experience.
