This book is the first on the implications of intellectual styles for higher education of students with hearing impairment. It provides a systematic delineation for intellectual styles of students with hearing impairment in comparison with students without hearing impairment. It takes an initial step to present the analysis concerning the mediating role of intellectual styles in the relationships between personal factors and student developmental outcomes.

This book investigates in detail large-scale group decision-making (LSGDM) problem, which has gradually evolved from the traditional group decision-making problem and has attracted more and more attention in the age of big data. Pursuing a holistic approach, the book establishes a fundamental framework for LSGDM with uncertain and behavioral considerations. To address the behavioral uncertainty and complexity of large groups of decision-makers, this book mainly focuses on new solutions of LSGDM problems using the interval type-2 fuzzy uncertainty theory and social network analysis techniques, including the exploration of uncertain clustering analysis, the consideration of social relationships, especially trust relationships, the construction of consensus evolution networks, etc. The book is intended for researchers and postgraduates who are interested in complex group decision-making in the new media era. This book investigates the form and features of governance and the factors that shape governance in practice in private universities in China. Building on an exploration of the growth of private universities in China after the Communist Party took over the power, the study examines the specific context in China, including the role of the Communist Party, and integrates with shareholders and senior managers to achieve its governance role. It shows that two distinct forms of institutional governance have developed, namely the supervision form and the managerial form. While external policies provide an impetus for change for each university, how key actors in institutional governance understand these policies have significant effect on how the policies are implemented. This can result in change that can be viewed as either symbolic alteration or as operational change. The internal factors that act to shape institutional governance mainly relate to the different developmental stages of the private university, the characteristics of shareholders and senior managers, and the various ways the universities respond to the external policy.

This book presents novel idea and concepts developed by the researchers/academia and practicing engineers working in the domain of the power sector infrastructures where power electronics infrastructures are used for improving the system reliability and efficiency in on-grid and off-grid systems. The infrastructures of distributed power generation based on wind, solar, hydro and many other renewable energy sources have increased manifold since last decade due to availability of efficient power converters and small rating generators. The application of power electronics switching devices has made job much easier to make such system infrastructures more reliable and controllable. The power quality (PQ) issues in infrastructures of distributed power generation system are a major concern for customers. The custom power devices such as voltage source converter are used to mitigate the PQ and other issues such as voltage and frequency control under different loading conditions on the supply system. The operation of these custom power devices or other power converters is dependent on the duty cycles generated by control algorithm. The scope of control algorithm may be varying from model predictive control techniques, machine learning techniques to other artificial intelligence-based techniques. In addition to it, some classical control algorithm and adaptive-type control algorithm may also be used for power converter operation. In the construction of legal system and the practical operation of legal system, the concept of rights, the thinking of rights and the logic of rights have in fact been running through the social and legal practice in China fordecades since the reform and opening up and have always become its background, keynote and background. Its typical realistic symptom is that a large number of rights belong to "new" for "China" the germination and birth of the type. In this context, this book tries to combine the general theory with the specific reality of the right landscape and preliminarily explores and explains the generation mechanism, existence basis, development logic and basic connotation of the "new" types of rights, that is, the main "emerging" or "new" types of rights in the transitional Chinese society. The purpose of this book is to draw the attention of the colleagues in the field of law to the reality of the emergence and development of "emerging" rights in our society. At the same time, taking this as an example, I hope that the colleagues in the field of law can deepen the study of rights, especially from the general and macro-study of rights to the more specific and micro-study of rights.
