Microhistory is a technique that has been used effectively by writers of both fiction and nonfiction. This monograph assesses the intersections between social tipping points (STP), a relatively understudied social-ecological concept, and various public policy concepts, such as governance, state capacity and resilience of the state and non-state actors, all within the context of the EU Eastern and Southern periphery. This unique approach is subsequently embodied in the newly created conceptual framework of how the STPs are governed and analyzed using three case studies. The goal is to examine how various state and non-state actors (transnational, private, and local) have managed to navigate the STPs triggered by migration, climate change, and geopolitics. The multi-level governance of STPs is studied within the context of the EU periphery, thus spatial and geographical determinants of the resilience are analyzed as well.

The book combines two interrelated lines of research. One of them is devoted to the development of the theory for solving a certain class of three-dimensional electromagnetic field problems of the three-dimensional electromagnetic field, taking into account eddy currents in a moving conducting magnetizing body. Preference is given to the development of the analytical solution methods of the three-dimensional quasi-stationary problem of field conjugation in the system: ¿a contour of an arbitrary spatial configuration with an alternating current is conducting body with a flat boundary surface¿. The second direction refers to the development of mathematical models for solving applied problems, which involve the use of developed methods for calculating the electromagnetic field and their characteristics. The main application of calculation methods is aimed at solving problems of heat treatment non-ferrous and ferrous metal products using the induction method of heating in a transverse magnetic field. The inverse problems are solved to determine the inductor configuration as flat and spatial current contours for providing the necessary temperature distribution of moving metal strips. To achieve uniform heating of strips across the width using inductors in the form of flat current contours parallel to the strip surface, it is advisable to use combinations of current contours, where the geometric dimensions are determined by the size and electro-physical parameters of the metal strips. A more uniform temperature distribution during high-frequency induction heating is achieved by using inductors in the form of current contours of the required spatial configuration.The book is intended for researchers, postgraduate students, and students specialized in theory and calculations of electromagnetic fields and induction heating installations.

This brief investigates the usefulness of Body-worn videos (BWVs) in non-policing environments. The first study of this kind, this research presents new datasets related to these devices, including: TOCS¿ data on assaults and injuries¿ Surveys of frontline members of staff¿ A series of focus groups¿ BWV activation metadata from BWV vendors¿ Surveys with British Transport Police¿s criminal justice unit.The data sources for this project span thirteen train operating companies across the UK, varying levels of risk of workplace violence, as well as different types of Public-Facing professionals and different BWV devices. Despite prolific feminist voices in Christian ethics, transnational perspectives are still underdeveloped. Similarly, ¿secular¿ transnational feminist scholarship often overlooks religious faith, rituals, and spirituality, crucial to many women¿s liberation movements across the globe. This book aims to fill these gaps in Christian and secular feminist scholarships by constructing a transnational feminist theo-ethics. Furthermore, by bringing the theological and the transnational together, the book offers an alternative tool in analyzing social identities beyond intersectionality (i.e., interstitial approach and interstitial integrity) and thus, renews feminist theological understandings, especially of time, memories, and healing beyond linear approaches. A renewed analytical tool would help the readers critically reinterrogate the global power structure buttressed by empire, militarized capitalism, and heteropatriarchal religious ideologies at the cost of raced, sexed, and classed bodies. At the same time, the book would create space where readers create and recreate theo-ethical visions for global peace and justice constructed upon transnational feminist praxis of solidarity and spiritual activism. Case studies offer concrete sites to inform readers about how to use transnational feminist theories at a micro- and macropolitical levels, and produce transnational feminist knowledge of God, spiritual activism, and solidarity.
