This book is a collection of stories from our family tattoo business in memory of my father, artist Buddy Mott. I tattooed beside him for almost the last 30 years of his 59-year career in Newport, Rhode Island. I categorize my telling of these stories as an audiobook on paper, and if I had to rate it I'd give it a PG-13. Well, maybe PG-15...and a half.In his early days back from WWII, this Army Veteran tattooed thousands of squids that came through the Navy port and shipped out all over the globe. Tattooed sailors on the move and the pride Buddy took in his artwork gave him the opportunity to become known worldwide. Newport in the late 1970s was being transformed into a tourist/sailing spot. Our father-daughters team tattooed customers from all walks of life (with or without motorcycles) now wanting to wear some permanent art. I'm pretty sure only one was a nun.Included in the 195 pages are over 200 colored pictures, 67 stencils, some of our tattoo tips, trade secrets for fellow artists and tattoo collectors, plus some of the unusual and entertaining requests we got on a nightly basis.-Marilyn Mott TollesonThis book contains over 200 pictures and 67 stencils.

Pennsbury Forever is a nostalgic look back at a high school in Bucks County, Pennsylvania that grew exponentially in the 1950s as the Baby Boomer generation advanced from kindergarten through graduation. The rapidly growing suburban communities forced parents, school administrators, and school board members to proactively act on long-range goals. The school district had to keep pace with the population explosion, passing bonds to build new schools to contain the overflow as the 1950s turned into the 1960s.This book features stories written by teachers, administrators, and students, looking back 50 and even 60 years to capture the essence of a high school that still binds old friends together. Although Pennsbury opened a new high school in 1966, the former high school pictured on the front of this book still exists as a junior high, which is why we have named this book, Pennsbury Forever. Our old school lives on!

Beginning With Xs and Os is an alphabet book for all ages. Rhyming verse tells the whimsical tale of the development of the alphabet, one letter at a time. The Os are the first to experience life-altering events that change their shapes and The Rounds are born. Then come The First Straights, who evolve from Xs. The saga continues, as some Straights have humps, some have style, and some grow bellies. Every letter has a story. Humor tempers the tragedies, conditions, and choices that spark the formation of new letters, as they accept themselves and each other. Sam White captures the stories in his edgy drawings that breathe life into each letter and reflect the grandeur of the story.

  • von Jay Walker

Take a stroll outside the lines with Providence actor and poet Jason "Jay" Walker, as he zigzags and crisscrosses down Memory Lane, "sifting through" and arranging his early poems, which chronicle his life over twenty years, through high school, college and his involvement with and departure from the local Slam(TM) and poetry scene, in order to recapture the creative spark that drives him. It's two decades of growth, as a poet and a person, marked in meter (and sometimes in rhymes) to show the world and, hopefully, the author that they're not alone.
