(About the Author) Like the character in the book, Daryl Elmore was born in Harlem and later migrated to the lower east side of Manhattan. "Growing up on the Lower East Side showed me the meaning of the phrase 'The Melting Pot.' It was the only place in New York where you could find good soul food, Chinese food, pizza, or knish in the same neighborhood." This is the author's first book, and he is working on the sequel. "I wanted to tell a story of life in New York during the sixties, seventies, and eighties. The tremendous political and scientific advances that all Americans endured were incredible.
