Jared Smith's poetry has appeared in hundreds of journals and anthologies in this country, Canada, Mexico, the U.K., and China. He has served on the Editorial Boards of Home Planet News; The New York Quarterly; The Pedestal Magazine; and Turtle Island Quarterly, as well as on the Boards of literary and arts non-profits in New York, Illinois, and Colorado. He is listed in The Colorado Encyclopedia; Poets & Writers; Colorado Poets Center; Who's Who in America; and other reference sources. He holds a Master's degree in Literature from New York University, and studied under The Great Books Program at St. John's College. He has taught at New York University and LaGuardia Community College (CCNY,) and worked as Director of Research and Education at an international laboratory, as Special Advisor to Argonne National Laboratory, and as an advisor to several White House Commissions under President William Clinton. He lives in Ellicott City, Maryland.

Award- winning poet/playwright/essayist John Macker lives in Santa Fe, NM. His latest books are The Blues Drink Your Dreams Away Selected Poems 1983-2018 (Stubborn Mule Press), Gorge Songs (DCArt Press,2017) with Denver wood- block artist Leon Loughridge and Blood in the Mix (with El Paso poet Lawrence Welsh) Lummox Press, 2015. He has won a Colorado Council on the Arts grant, A Colorado Arts (Tombstone) Award for Poetry and the 2006 Mad Blood magazine award for the long poem, "Wyoming Arcane."

Melvin Litton's stories have appeared in Chiron Review, Mobius, Foliate Oak, Floyd County Moonshine, Pif, First Intensity, with poetry in Broadkill Review, The Gasconade Review, e Literary Hatchet, Stray Branch, and a chapbook From the Bone via Spartan Press. He has two published novels: GEMINGA, a man/raven fable concerning the Shining Path in Peru (III Publishing, 1993); and I, JOAQUIN, a ctional memoir of the Gold Rush bandit, Joaquin Murrieta, as told by his head encased in alcohol (Creative Arts Book Co., 2003) - both available in new editions from Crossroad Press. His third novel, CASPION & e White Buffalo, a saga of the American West, is forthcoming in 2018, again from Crossroad Press. Kyle Laws is based out of the Arts Alliance Studios Community in Pueblo, CO where she directs Line / Circle: Women Poets in Performance. Previous collections include Faces of Fishing Creek (Middle Creek Publishing), So Bright to Blind (Five Oaks Press), and Wildwood (Lummox Press). With six nominations for a Pushcart Prize, her poems and essays have appeared in magazines and anthologies in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and France. Granted residencies in poetry from the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, she is one of eight members of the Boiler House Poets who perform and study at the museum. She is the editor and publisher of Casa de Cinco Hermanas Press.

George Wallace - winner of the First International Poetry Festival O¿RPHEUS - PLOVDIV 2018 with his poem 'Orpheus on the Elbrus' - is one of the best contemporary world's poets I have ever read. His poetry is like a message from God, but it isn't enough to say that because while plenty of poets think that they write under God's dictation, to hear the message, to catch the message, is different. This is a poetry with contempt for the oods of the world - the seas and rivers, time and memory, history and the future - in their present tense. Kevin Ridgeway was raised in Whittier, CA. He has lived in New York City, Vermont, Massachusetts and Maine. He attended Goddard College but abandoned his studies for a failed early marriage, followed by several lost years suffering from untreated bipolar disorder during which time he embarked on a drunken public library and used book store self education with silent movies playing on his t.v. set and old school rock n roll grooving from his turntable. He began contributing to the small, independent and underground presses in 2010, and has remained prolifc ever since. He is the author of nine chapbooks of poetry. A two-time Pushcart Prize and two-time Best of the Net nominee, he lives and writes in Long Beach, CA.

Mike James has been widely published in magazines, large and small, throughout the country. His eleven previous poetry collections include: Crows in the Jukebox (Bottom Dog), My Favorite Houseguest (FutureCycle), and Peddler's Blues (Main Street Rag). M.J. (Michael Joseph) Arcangelini was born 1952 in western Pennsylvania, grew up there & in Cleveland, Ohio. He's resided in northern California since 1979 and currently lives in Sonoma County. He began writing poetry at age 11. His work has been published in a lot of little magazines (including e James White Review, White Crane Journal, Whisky Island, Taproot, ArtCrimes, Ev'ryman, Splitw*sky, RFD, BEAR Magazine, Jonathan, lilliput, Rusty Truck, The Ekphrastic Review, The Gasconade Review) and over a dozen anthologies. Daniel Crocker is a southeastern Missouri based poet and was the first winner of the Gerald Locklin Prize in poetry. He is the editor of The Cape Rock (Southeast Missouri State University) and the co- editor of Trailer Park Quarterly. He's also a host, with his wife Margaret Bazzell-Crocker, of the podcast, Sanesplain- ing. His work has appeared in The Los Angeles Review, Hobart, Big Muddy, New World Writing, Stirring, Juked, The Chiron Review, The Mas Tequila Review and over 100 others. His books include Like a Fish (full length) and The One Where I Ruin Your Childhood (e-chap with thousands of downloads), both from Sundress Publica- tions. Green Bean Press published several of his books in the '90s and early 2000s. These include People Everyday and Other Poems, Long Live the 2 of Spades, the novel The Cornstalk Man and the short story collection Do Not Look Directly into Me. He has also published several chapbooks through various presses. His newest full-length collection of poetry, Shit House Rat, was published by Spartan Press in September of 2017.

Four femme poets are featured in the first Stubborn Mule Press anthology: Dianne Borsenik, Juliet Cook, Puma Perl, and Jeanette Powers. Dianne Borsenik is active in the northern Ohio poetry scene and regional reading circuit; she recently featured in "We're No Angels" (Speak of the Devil, Lorain, Ohio) and "2 Chefs & a Beat: Poetic Justice Edition" (Porco Lounge and Tiki Room, Cleveland, Ohio). She is the creator, curator, and producer of Puma Perl's Pandemonium, which launched at the Bowery Electric in 2012 and brings spoken word together with rock and roll. Erica Hoffmeister's Lived in Bars is an exquisite road trip across America's still-feral landscapes and people. The poems are a woman's experience in lostness and finding: brutal and benevolent, in crisis and of tremendous grit. "There were certain things you lived with, and certain things you lived without."
