Café Notes is a carefully curated collection in which tone and theme, two key elements and foundations of any focused and solid work of art, synchronize to offer readers an elixir from the first to the last page.The poems are characterized, enhanced and woven together by strings of symbols and metaphors around tea, coffee, cups, heat, fire, the kitchen etc. The language of poetry greets the reader instantly and gets one thinking and savoring because of its metaphorical depth and dynamism.In some instance tea/coffee consumption takes a metonymic dimension. It becomes a mirror through which one looks into self and one's environment. It becomes more than a drink, a means and source of entertainment and a pastime, but a piece of theatre where life and its dimensions and dynamics are on stage; like likening Iced Tea with a bride, then everyone and finally heroes. Another time, through creative mischievousness lemonade takes a swipe at tea.Through a variety of messages around Café settings, the poet successfully enables the reader to walk and explore relatable issues and images with the narrator.The poet proposes the essence of coffee and later ends by saying it cannot be explained because everyone has their scripts. In the ending analysis tea comes into conflict with poetry, is adjudged guilty, but then saved by poetry through a sweetened piece of poetic paper bearing milk and honey.

But can his repentance take back all his sins, he ruined the lives of his children, particularly his son Marlon because he loves his father he forgot his own needs and even his dreams but all his support for his father was a waste? With everything that happened, they are now FACING THE PAIN OF REALITY.

Water almost cleaned out the evidence if not for the brilliant job of the investigators that unravel the mystery behind Shelly's death. Will to kill features Esther from Brazil. She was from a very poor home doing prostitution to survive and feed her parents. Fortunately she was caught up by an American business who changed her story from poverty to wealth. But due to her so much greed she killed her American husband thinking she could inherits his wealth. The deceased mother spent three years hunting the suspect until she was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison. And finally, stab in the heart features an Indian serial killer who because his father killed his dog, was transform overnight into a serial killer. His wife had trusted her life into his hand for love and protection, but after so many murders, he at the end murdered his wife, then hung himself.

Before the readers of this book are 25 interviews with renowned poets from all over the world, of all generations. The book Modern Talks on Poetry was created as a result of my journalistic work in the period from 2019 to 2022. What particularly inspired me to publish this book is the idea that poetry played a very significant role during the pandemic, primarily in a psychological sense, because many people turned to writing poetry during the lockdown, as a kind of creative therapy. With this book, I would like to pay tribute to poetry as a unique form of artistic and linguistic expression and to all the poets of this world.

Labayne is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Humanities, UP Los Baños. He holds an MA in Language and Literature from UP Baguio and is currently pursuing a PhD in Philippines Studies at UP Diliman. This story is the story around us. It doesn't matter to us until this incident happens in our house. We often get surprised once we hear, see or read such incidents in newspapers, magazines and through television but then soon forget. This story is also a story of two lovers which have ended somewhere in the pages of history. Both wanted to spend their lives in the thrill of their love. But the social fabric does not allow them to do so. Then those situations are created where in order to save themselves, they have to do that work, reading which anyone's soul will tremble. How can a daughter do this to her family. Can anyone kill a small child of 6 months? No one can be in danger from a small child. But what happened? Eventually seven members of the family lost their lives. What will happen to this loving couple? Will the society accept their child born in jail?

Weirdos roam everywhere around us, at times they move within us too. However, one cannot be definitive about the salient features or the rich attributes that make them so. The short stories of this book do accept this fact and therefore, the titular characters described in those stories are not marked out as them, leaving the onus on the intelligent readers to judge for themselves.
