  • von Heather Dale Killeen

Book synopsis:The poems are all stories about life; but an effort has been made to give an opposite viewpoint, for example: how might animals think about their lives; how might inanimate objects view the world. Poems have been included that look at past and current situations and problems occurring in the world, both in a serious and humorous vein. Also, many of the poems are centered on the interactions between people, and nature, and the heartbreak of loss in love or death.Autobiography:Heather Dale Killeen, was born and grew up in the small, farming town of High Prairie in Northern Alberta. Many evenings were spent listening and reading the poetry of Robert Service which influenced her own style of each poem telling a story. The poems spread across a wide spectrum of emotion and ideas. This book of poetry is Heather's first venture into the world of writing.

Book synopsis:Father A has found God and wants to be relieved of his duties as a priest. He is working on the homeless problem in Phoenix, the city where he lives, and he has recruited help from among the homeless population itself. This is the story of that colorful group of people and their attempts to help him not only to be defrocked, but to house, clothe and feed the homeless like themselves.Autobiography:Joyce Keveren has written six novels, two volumes of poetry and one collection of short stories. This is her seventh novel. I loved writing this book and getting to know (making up) the homeless people who inhabit this story. I am concerned about this problem, and I am wondering if Father A's solution could be used effectively in the real world as it does in this work of fiction.

  • von Franchell Hamilton
    23,00 €

¿¿Book synopsis: This book was written after years of research and treating obesity and Dr. Hamilton finding out that her most successful patients used their most powerful tool to sustain their weight loss, their curious mindset. This book is to help people who struggle with a chronic condition use curiosity to transform their mindset and in turn transform their health. Dr. Hamilton discovered that even the most powerful surgeries and medications may not be affective without this powerful tool. This book uses her story as well as many others as examples to go from surviving to thriving and transforming through the lens of a curiosity mindset. Curiosity, she believes, when it matures in a healthy way is what unlocks the power that is in all of us to be and do all the things we dream of doing and makes us unstoppable. Curiosity, the most primitive mental capacity we have and starts in infancy and through life and other things is gets stripped away and people began thinking in the I can't mentality instead of the how can I mentality. This switch in the mindset is the key she found to sustainable weight loss or any long term health condition people are struggling with.Autobiography: Dr. Franchell Hamilton is a board certified bariatric surgeon passionate about helping those who struggle with weight gain. She loves helping patients transform to live healthier and better lives through different aspects of change mixed with medicine. She like her readers has also gone through her own journeys, some of which are described in this book. She continues to transform to become a better version of herself by using curiosity and wants others to be able to do it also.

Book synopsis:I reread part of Sweetgrass, one of the other poetry books I have written and I thought, well, that's some profound B.S. in there, not to mention those screaming examples of OCD that a psychiatrist would notice, and some of those odd rhyming patterns, here-to-fore most likely unknown to man, like a motorboat speeding over choppy waters or a stuttering drunk, but then I remembered how much fun it was to write. This last one was fun to write too. I hope all three of my readers enjoy it too. Thank you to Angel Raye for her lovely, heartfelt poem for her sister. Autobiography:Joyce Keveren has written 7 novels, one collection of short stories and this is her third collection of poetry. You can find information about her writing on her writer's website at jkeveren.com.

Mayhem in 1982 is rooted in the true story of Long Island's most infamous crime spree. On Friday night, Memorial Day weekend 1982, five Brooklyn thugs, called the Belmont Avenue Boys, went to "get paid" on Long Island or as they called it, Babylonia, the biblical land of milk and honey. Their credo - if you want something just take it - was demonstrated by the night's work of random shootings, rapes, sodomies, pistol whippings, robberies, and terrorism by forcing diner patrons to "undress and have sex with the person next to you." In an ultimate act of vulgarity, the Boys then urinated on several of the victims. Following their arrests and sentences of 3,000 years in prison, the outraged public learned of a defect in NY State law trimming the sentences to thirty years.True crime merges with fiction... As news of the Boys' release circulates thirty years later, in 2012, a product of one of the rapes discovers the truth of his conception, and vows to avenge his mother's degradation. Concocting a plan to snuff out the lives of the Boys, including his rapacious father, he recruits several victims of that night of horror, and he lures the Boys to a secluded warehouse, where appropriate justice is finally served.

The Journal of Allen Brock weaves a narrative through the twists of an older and much different Earth. Negative energy has imposed physical challenges through Rift Space. This phenomenon wreaks havoc on electrical equipment and on weaponry. Wars rage; heroes rise and fall, hence the weave of the tapestry. The focus of Brock's narrative is Junipero Heights, a contested ground in the Highland. Highland, tucked in the eastern part of the Northern continent, is a rugged area, not easily assailed. For decades it has prevailed against the Hexas, Junipero's unrelenting enemy in the west who view themselves intellectually and culturally superior to the Native-born.In the backdrop stands Brock, the reticent hero. He is no saint, yet never the villain. Rouges and connivers peopled his world. Even friendlies have their agendas. Yet, the overarching questions remain unanswered, Why has victory over the Hexas been deferred? Why is that so many of the Native-born kinfolk remain pressed? How was it that the Hexas gained supremacy over half of the land? One day, while nursing a pint of ale in a remote casino in the Central Mosaic, Brock decides he's had enough. His words and actions reverberate from one end of the Northern Continent to the other. The future is altered, but not in the way Brock had intended.
