America today is faced with a great number of concerns. One of the larger ones is the role of religious thought and practices in our everyday lives. Issues such as abortion, Intelligent Design, and the moral and ethical impact of technology on its citizens weigh heavily on almost all of us. These issues predominate both the front pages and the op-ed pages of our newspapers. They fill the news media on both television and the net. They created heated arguments in almost every community in our world, often leading to open conflicts between friends and even family members. Religion and faith are in conflict within the hearts and minds of educated people exposed to more and more information. Science has marched directly into realms covered by faith, leading to great angst within people who try and balance their "Church" mind with the secular world. Nowhere is this conflict more apparent than in the issues generated in the reconciliation of theology and modern science. As cosmology crossed over into the sacred ground of the Creation with the discovery of the Big Bang, scientists themselves discovered that they had come face to face with the questions around the existence of God, the Creator, and his role in Creation. While most of the general population believes that scientists are atheists, and that the basic tenets of theology and science are antithetical, the opposite is actually closer to the truth. There is a ground where science and theology can, and must, share thoughts. Scientists like Einstein and Hawking speak of trying to "understand the mind of God" and make bold conjectures as to whether or not God had any choices in his design of the Universe. This book attempt to build a bridge from Science to Faith and back, and opens the mind of the Child. the Mind of Man and relates them both to the Mind of God.

  • - The Book of Man I Am
    von Steve Bruttig
    27,00 €

This book details many facets in the development of man, from humble animal beginnings to the sophisticated, citified man we see today. We explore the evolutionary changes of man in a world of creation. But if we're honest, we recognize man as an unfinished work and currently a "bad actor". So, we explore the "who", "what", "when", "where", "why" and "how" man got this far and what drives his behavior in this complex, complicated, and convoluted world. We'll take advantage of paleontologic and archaeologic evidence, but also explore extraterrestrial hocus pocus. We'll consider the soul as the essence of individual existence and ensoulment as the process of receiving that soul. And we'll look at what man does, might do, or has done (some that he might not be proud of - e.g., conspiracy, rebellion, and revolution) - all in the quest to know man, now and in the future.

  • - The Air Force Legacy of Major General Don D. Pittman
    von Jeremy Paul AEmick
    20,00 €

History provides many notable examples of individuals rising above tragedy to accomplish great things in their lives, never allowing worry or regret to prevent them from seizing an opportunity. The life of the late Don D. Pittman serves as an ideal example of someone who refused to falter when faced with a challenge and, through perseverance, went on to serve in several key positions in the U.S. Air Force during the Cold War. Born on Halloween of 1925, Pittman’s mother passed away in childbirth and his father soon left town, leaving the infant boy to be raised by his grandparents in Jefferson City, Missouri. He would go on to graduate from a local Catholic high school and enlist as an aviation cadet in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. Earning his wings as a transport pilot, he participated in relief flights during the famed Berlin Airlift before making the transition to jet aircraft and later completing two tours as a command pilot in the Vietnam War. Demonstrating his capacity for leadership, Pittman ascended through the offi cer ranks, eventually commanding U.S. Air Forces, Korea and the 24th NORAD Region. When his thirtyfive year career ended in 1978, he had achieved the esteemed rank of two-star general. Major General Pittman’s service characterizes the dedication of a member of the “Greatest Generation” — a patriotic citizen whose life was defined by accomplishment and, through his uniformed service, ascended hardship and misfortune to achieve great success in his military career.

In a myriad of ways, prolific writer Gordon Offin-Amaniampong had never come across or seen ‘The Mega Basket ‘ (probably the size of a super shopping centre). It was the most sought after venue in town as its brand name seemed to have caught fire. Intrigued by its sheer size and all its acclaimed good stuff, the writer decided to explore. It was a journey that appeared improbable from the beginning. But he would press on to the wire. He was seen by many walking the corridors of the powerful, trekking the boundaries of slum-lords, in bed with ‘Galamseyers’, as well as dabbling in politics, sports, life style and many more..Oftentimes, it’s hard to find real good stuff at the right time. Why? They seem extinct like the pink-eyed forest dweller—Gerygone insularis or the Hawaiian honey creeper with a spectacular bill. But did Gordon find the Mega Basket? And was his find good enough to stand tall among the lot?He calls his find: ‘Gordon’s Hodgepodge.’‘Gordon’s Hodgepodge’: it’s a mega basket with all kinds of fruit put together. They include, feature articles, wise sayings, riddles, and short stories. It’s like shopping from one store to another at a mini plaza----crisscrossing aisle by aisle, checking out the goodies at the same time doing people watching. The stories are beautifully synchronised in a way to capture the readers’ attention.Hodgepodge is also woven like ‘Kente’ a signature cloth by the people of Ghana in the West Africa region. The book hooks the reader up right from the get go. And one can’t drop it until one gets it all tasted and feelmesmerized! It’s a must-read Book.

Have you ever wondered why you do not get answers to your prayers? You pray all the time and do not get answers, and then wonder why they are not being answered. Many books discuss praying, but What God Says About Prayer, Church and Religion reveals what the Bible says about prayer and how to get results. This book also explores the disconnect between churches and religion. God says we are to pray in secret and not in public; he rewards us for praying secretly.Do you pray in secret? When you pray, do you repeat the Lord’s Prayer without contemplating the meaning of the words?

A lineage of honor and duty, yearth pretty much cascading into a turmoil of begotten youth and forgotten foraged elders. In this story the honored becomes dishonored and the hardened become weak, where God has been claimed too beseeched the empty and broken God finds a troubled knight on the third crusade consisting of three famous kings and a nexus of bloodshed and condemnation. Acre a city known much like Jericho to the Arabs, is a stepping stone for this story, but it’s pivot unearthing a truth to a few decent men and fallen soldiers. A battlefield staged in epic proportions, the underlying theme is a resentment for the established code of direct order, however in the medieval theme it is a merger of religion of arms that gets the knight Sir Bear Challenge so quarrelsome. Uniquely after the desert takes what’s left of Bear’s strength, he returns home under cloak and dagger to find himself a branded traitor for his misdeeds against the crusade and committing treason against the Pope and King, not to mention his country England. Thus, he searches for redemption, but not in the likely ways, in the mystery of deception and cloaked in tumultuous quandary.
