The book of poetry, entitled Poetic Psalms to the Lord & Poems About Life, attempts to focus on the communal unity and amity (or love) of families, communities, and nations for each other under the Spirit of Jesus and his commandments of love in a divisive, self-seeking world. The poetry also focuses on the light and shadows of society, in both a serious and humorous tone. The body of works also entails marital romance and "critters", a US Southeastern slang for animals. It is my hope that folks reading the material may be enlightened with the Holy Father's and the Son of Man's love for them in everyday life. Hopefully, the reader may experience the provocation of deep thought and meditation over societal phenomena and finds satisfaction in reading about the observations of life.

Peaches are the color of orange sorbet, the ocean is like blue green algae, the rocks where I grew up are red, and lavender isthe color I became when I turned 28.Lavender is a collection of poetry, but more than that it is a collection of moments. These words have followed me through thepast ten years of life like little shadows and have come to fruition as a book through both vulnerability and bravery.Within Lavender I am able to share the intricacies of seeing beauty in all stages of life; love, loss, mistakes, failure, happiness and newbeginnings. The Moreau River is a well-known and central feature of Mid-Missouri. This smaller river and its tributaries pass through many communities in this region and have a collateral influence on others. It is a waterway possessing a legacy spanning several counties and has either directly or indirectly touched an assortment of communities in some fashion. It should be of little surprise, then, that a compilation of historical stories from around Mid-Missouri would have a title somehow connected to the Moreau River. Along the Moreau River and its tributaries emerge fascinating stories such as that of a former slave who lived to the impressive age of 113 years old. It is a legacy featuring a Lutheran congregation that had the privilege of hearing from a Native American Christian missionary who was the last chief of the Mohican tribe. Other stories highlight a young man from Hickory Hill who later served as a lawman in a bustling Wild West town. When pulling on the thread of a local folk tale or historical event, one often discovers it is connected to many unique people and events.... and, in the end, more stories come pouring forth-just like the waters of the Moreau. This compilation of history from throughout Mid-Missouri provides an engaging snapshot of many of the people and places who have come before us.

In Marvin's third publication, teenager James Wright, born about 1851, is saddened and disillusioned after his father, Samuel Wright, was killed in 1864 by Confederates. is horrible act brings thoughts of revenge and hatred to James. The emotional and mental pain would propel James Wright into a lifetime of crime that eventually involves two nephews, John and Albert Templeton. In 2000, Marvin met Betty Lou DeBord Frank, a Templeton descendant who had a wealth of information regarding the Wright and Templeton families. Betty, a great-niece of the Templeton brothers, and Marvin, a Templeton cousinthrough his great grandmother Susannah Templeton Byrd. Once Betty and Marvin realized they were related on the Templeton side, it set off a series of events, culminating in Marvin being asked by Betty in 2012 to write and publish this book, "A Civil War Legacy, the Saga of East Tennessee Outlaws, James Wright & John Templeton."Back from the Grave? Sadly, after the cold-blooded murder of Deputy Clint Legere, there was no turning back for John and Albert Templeton; their lives had changed forever. Once the Templetons were indicted with Jim and the Lawson brothers for the Legere murder, returning home and living an everyday life was no longer an option for the two. Regretfully, Albert dies while incarcerated in the Knoxville jail, while Jim and John ultimately die violently and ignominiously. Strangely, this doesn't end the James Wright and John and Albert Templeton saga as many presumed it would. Nine years after their deaths, mysterious events transpire to make some believe the three had risen from the grave with an unholy mission- to rain down deadly vengeance.

The blame and the cause lie with realities engineered to favor superiority - negotiated truths. So, what is truth? Is your truth my truth? Is there truth at all? But correction of our faulty truths is still within reach if we recoup our reality. "If you would change the world, you must change yourself." We can start with our beliefs. So, this volume explores the process of believing and beliefs, both sacred and secular. Other volumes will explore scriptures, religions and rituals - they are among the breeding grounds for negotiated truth.
