A Description of Active and Extinct Volcanos

Published in 1826, this pioneering work established Charles Daubeny's international reputation. Containing descriptions of many volcanic regions, it sets out its influential chemical theory of volcanic action. The work was later published in expanded form in the 1848 edition, also available in the Cambridge Library Collection.
