Acupuncture as first-line therapy in herpes zoster ophthalmicus

An updated review of the topics of acupuncture and herpes zoster ophthalmicus is given. New treatments for this entity from the western and traditional points of view are presented. Finally, a case report was presented on the follow-up of a patient who achieved spectacular results, relieving pain in the first acupuncture session and total healing in 6 days, with no sequelae.
