Despite differences in frequency, causation, and infectivity, adenovirus epithelial keratitis and Thygeson's superficial punctate keratitis (TSPK) are often confused in clinical practice owing to the similarity between adenovirus epithelial infiltrates and 'coarse' epithelial TSPK lesions.
