As a descendant of Noah he lives a long time and comes to believe that their is only one God. This sets him apart from even his own brother. Then God changes his name to Abraham and promises him many descendants. Even after Sodom and Gomorrah are destroyed Abraham proclaims that God is merciful. His nephew Lot is not so sure after he loses his wife and home. The two men share many adventures. When now an old man Abraham has a son by his aged wife Sarah God gives both of them one final test.
