Flaccus, qui vixit sub imperatore Vespasiano, poema suum a Virgilio et Ovidio, qui fabulam similiter tractaverunt, inspiratum esse dixit. Poema est notum propter elegantiam et copiam verborum, quae Flacco proprias sunt.
