Arguments for God's Existence in Classical Islamic Thought

In this monograph, Hannah C. Erlwein proffers a reappraisal of an important aspect of classical Islamic intellectual history, that is, the discourse which, in the academic literature, has commonly been regarded as concerned with arguments for God¿s existence. She argues that this common view poses a misunderstanding of the objectives of the arguments in question as Muslim thinkers were not concerned with proving that God exists.
