Ashira's World

Ashira, with big, brown, round eyes; pink, full lips, kissed by God and a lush, coily, brown crown that flows to the small of her back, can see through the soul of anyone she meets. She discovers her unique abilities one day while walking home from high school in the dirt and beer bottle ridden streets of Englewood in Chicago, Illinois.
Ashira wins a contest that pays for her to travel to Paris and attend fashion college in New York, where she meets and marries an abusive, gray-haired billionaire from Pakistan. She moves into his luxurious midtown Manhattan mansion with hues of red and 24 carat gold. Ahmed lives with his daughter, extended family and servants and Ashira immediately notices two things. His missing wife and the gaping chasm between the haves and have nots.
But, she is unaware of her codependency and her husband's ties to global human trafficking. She is compelled to visit Pakistan to find out the truth, where she encounters Ahmed's sinister, dark-haired, emaciated business partner, a former disgruntled servant who leveraged an opportunity to elevate his status.
