L'étude a exploré les interactions entre l'éducation non formelle (ENF) et les groupes de femmes en Ouganda, en limitant le champ d'action au conseil municipal d'Iganga, aux sous-comtés de Bulamagi et de Namungalwe, sur la base des objectifs suivants : identifier les besoins des femmes en matière d'ENF ; mettre en place différentes activités d'ENF dans le district d'Iganga ; identifier les facteurs qui affectent la participation des femmes à l'ENF dans le district d'Iganga ; et découvrir les mesures permettant d'obtenir une participation efficace et réussie aux programmes et activités d'ENF dans le district d'Iganga. Les résultats ont indiqué que le principal besoin motivant la participation à l'ENF était le désir d'acquérir une éducation de base (alphabétisation et numératie). Les autres besoins comprenaient l'amélioration du niveau de production agricole, les compétences en matière de génération de revenus, la sensibilisation aux droits et aux questions de genre, la gestion du foyer, l'amélioration de la santé et de la nutrition et l'accès au crédit. Les principales contraintes sont les rôles et responsabilités domestiques des femmes. Pour parvenir à une participation efficace, il convient de mettre l'accent sur l'implication des bénéficiaires de l'ENF et des responsables de la mise en ¿uvre dans le processus de planification, la sensibilisation avant la mise en ¿uvre, l'identification de programmes centrés sur les problèmes et le suivi et l'évaluation.

Inne potrzeby obejmowäy popraw¿ poziomu produkcji rolnej, umiej¿tno¿ci generowania dochodu, ¿wiadomo¿¿ praw i kwestii p¿ci, zarz¿dzanie domem, popraw¿ zdrowia i od¿ywiania oraz dost¿p do kredytu. G¿ównymi ograniczeniami by¿y role i obowi¿zki domowe kobiet. Aby osi¿gn¿¿ efektywne uczestnictwo, nale¿y podkre¿li¿ zaangäowanie beneficjentów i realizatorów NFE w proces planowania, uwräliwienie przed wdro¿eniem, identyfikacj¿ programów skoncentrowanych na problemach oraz monitoring i ewaluacj¿.

The study explored interactions between Non Formal Education (NFE) and women groups in Uganda, narrowing the scope to Iganga Town Council, Bulamagi and Namungalwe sub-counties based on the following objectives: to identify the women''s needs for NFE; to establish different NFE activities in Iganga District; to identify factors that affect women participation in NFE in Iganga District; and to discover measures for achieving effective and successful participation in NFE programmes and activities in Iganga District. The findings indicated that the major motivating need in NFE participation was the desire to acquire basic education (literacy and innumeracy). Other needs included improvement in level of agricultural production, skills in income generation, awareness on rights and gender issues, home management, improvement on health and nutrition and access to credit. Major constraints were women''s domestic roles and responsibilities. To achieve effective participation, involvement of NFE beneficiaries and implementers in the planning process, sensitization before implementation, identification of problem-centred programmes and monitoring and evaluation need to be emphasized.
