W drugiej cz¿¿ci tego opracowania opar¿em si¿ na do¿wiadczeniach rodziców w folkeskole i ich pogl¿dach na system edukacji. Cette étude a examiné l'implication des parents arabes dans la scolarisation de leurs enfants. Les données ont été recueillies en interrogeant les parents dont les enfants fréquentaient des écoles dans le centre de Copenhague. L'étude s'est concentrée sur la manière dont les parents arabes offraient des opportunités et des ressources pour soutenir leurs enfants dans leurs travaux scolaires et en même temps leur apprendre leur langue. Dans la deuxième partie de cette étude, j¿ai puisé dans les expériences des parents dans la folkeskole et sur leur vision du système éducatif. Les résultats de l'étude peuvent être résumés comme suit: Tous les parents étaient activement impliqués dans l'apprentissage de leurs enfants. Les familles qui ne pouvaient pas écrire et lire l'arabe et le danois se sont appuyées sur d'autres réseaux sociaux tels que les voisins et le personnel bilingue pour obtenir de l'aide. Les parents ont donné plus de temps pour aider leurs enfants en arabe, car leur niveau d¿alphabétisation était à peine reconnu à l¿école. Mais comme ils voulaient que leurs enfants rivalisent avec les étudiants danois sur un pied d'égalité, ils avaient choisi la folkeskole au lieu des écoles privées arabes. Les parents estiment que le système scolaire est trop flexible et déroutant.

This study investigated the involvement of Arab parents in the schooling of their children. Data were collected by interviewing parents whose children attended schools in inner Copenhagen. The study focused on how Arab parents provided opportunities and resources to support their children with their school work and at the same time teach them their language. In the second part of this study I drew on parents'' experiences in the folkeskole and their views of the educational system. The results of the study can be summarized in the following: All parents were actively involved in the learning of their children. Families who could not write and read Arabic and Danish relied on other social networks such as neighbours and bilingual staff for help. Parents gave more time helping their children with Arabic as their literacy was barely acknowledged in school. But the fact that they wanted their children to compete with Danish students on equal terms, they had chosen the folkeskole instead of Arabic private schools. Parents believed that the school system was too flexible and confusing.
