Tak wi¿c ró¿nica mi¿dzy p¿ciami zaczyna si¿ od dwóch g¿ównych obszarów, w których dziewcz¿ta i ch¿opcy sp¿dzaj¿ wäny okres swojego ¿ycia jako dzieci i m¿odzie¿. Niewiele jest jednak badä dotycz¿cych dyskryminacji dziewcz¿t w szkole i w domu, a tak¿e ich postrzegania i reakcji w Nepalu. Badanie to bada ró¿ne wymiary dyskryminacji, jak równie¿ do¿wiadczenia, postrzeganie i reakcje z perspektywy aktora. W niniejszym studium jako¿ciowym przyj¿to ró¿ne postawy teoretyczne do analizy g¿ównych tematów badania. Szczególny nacisk po¿o¿ono na potrzeb¿ zmian we wspó¿czesnej sytuacji w skali mikro w klasie i w domu; dlatego te¿ badanie jest skierowane do g¿ównych aktorów, takich jak ch¿opcy, nauczyciele, rodzice, dziewcz¿ta i inni. Na szerszym poziomie, skierowane jest do decydentów i zainteresowanych stron, by zmienili i sformu¿owali polityk¿ na poziomie krajowym dotycz¿c¿ dyskryminacji, dominacji i molestowania dziewcz¿t.

Girls and women are discriminated in all spheres ¿ social, political and economic. Education is not an exception; it is also dominated by boys and men. The socialization process at home and school orient girls and boys on specific gender roles and norms. Thus gender difference begins from the two major areas where the girls and boys spend important period of their life as children and adolescent. However, there has been little research examining discrimination against girls at school and home, and their perceptions and responses in Nepal. This study explores various dimensions of discrimination as well as the experiences, perceptions and responses from the actor¿s perspective. This qualitative study adopts various theoretical stands to analyze the major themes of the study. The study particularly emphasizes the need of change on contemporary micro level situation that of classroom and home; thus targets the major actors like boys, teachers, parents, girls among others. On the broader level, it aims policy makers and stakeholders to amend and formulate national level policies specifically on discrimination, domination and harassment against girls.
