The story starts in Lahore, Pakistan prior to the 1947 partition, with the first generation of Kumar's taking the difficult decision to move to their hometown in Kitna, Punjab, India and finally travelling for better prospects to the UK. It covers the challenges faced by those who found themselves starting from scratch in new surroundings, trying their best to provide for their families, whilst also trying to assimilate to an unknown environment and culture.It is my hope that this honest account of struggle, achievement and survival may strike a chord with some of you. I strongly feel, it is only by taking stock of the past and where one has come from that we are able to make the most of our present and set a direction for the future. This journey has allowed me to delve into the stories of yesteryear, reflect with family and friends on old tales and capture them for evermore in this book, before they get lost in the passage of time. It has been an extremely cathartic and reflective process which covers mistakes made, achievements won and crucially, the lessons learnt. I hope you enjoy my journey so far.

En la actualidad, el número de mujeres empresarias en Indonesia es menor que el de los hombres empresarios, lo que plantea interrogantes sobre las razones de esta situación. La investigación pretende analizar la intención empresarial de las mujeres utilizando la teoría del comportamiento planificado (Actitud, Normas Subjetivas y Control Conductual Percibido) de Ajzen, que se mide a partir de la educación, la familia y las experiencias laborales. En base a los resultados, se encuentra que la educación y las experiencias laborales influyen positivamente en la teoría de la conducta planificada y que ésta influye en la intención empresarial de las mujeres además de las normas subjetivas. Se recomienda, desde la perspectiva del marco conceptual, que se analicen más factores para averiguar los factores que motivan a las mujeres a ser empresarias. Para llegar a un público más amplio, desde la perspectiva del análisis de los datos, el método de muestreo en el futuro debería extenderse a una población más amplia, un tamaño de muestra mayor y métodos de muestreo más representativos que se han convertido en la limitación de este estudio.

A investigação visa analisar a intenção empresarial das mulheres, utilizando a teoria do comportamento planeado (Atitude, Normas Subjectivas, e Controlo Comportamental Percebido) por Ajzen que mediu a partir da educação, família e experiências de trabalho. Com base no resultado, constata-se que a educação e as experiências de trabalho dão uma influência positiva na teoria do comportamento planeado e dão impacto à intenção empreendedora das mulheres para além das normas subjectivas. Recomenda-se, de uma perspectiva de enquadramento conceptual, que se analisem mais factores para descobrir os factores que motivam as mulheres a serem empreendedoras. A fim de atingir audiências maiores, de uma perspectiva de análise de dados, o método de amostragem no futuro deve ser alargado a uma população mais vasta, a uma maior dimensão da amostra, e a métodos de amostragem mais representativos que se tornaram a limitação deste estudo.

Al giorno d'oggi, il numero di donne imprenditrici in Indonesia è inferiore a quello degli uomini e questo fa sorgere delle domande sulle ragioni di questo fenomeno. La ricerca si propone di analizzare l'intenzione imprenditoriale delle donne utilizzando la teoria del comportamento pianificato (atteggiamento, norme soggettive e controllo del comportamento percepito) di Ajzen, misurata in base all'istruzione, alla famiglia e alle esperienze lavorative. In base ai risultati, è emerso che l'istruzione e le esperienze lavorative influenzano positivamente la teoria del comportamento pianificato e hanno un impatto sull'intenzione imprenditoriale delle donne a parte le norme soggettive. Si raccomanda, dal punto di vista del quadro concettuale, di analizzare altri fattori per scoprire quelli che motivano le donne a diventare imprenditrici. Per raggiungere un pubblico più vasto, dal punto di vista dell'analisi dei dati, in futuro il metodo di campionamento dovrebbe essere esteso a una popolazione più ampia, con un campione di dimensioni maggiori e metodi di campionamento più rappresentativi, che sono diventati il limite di questo studio.

Heutzutage ist die Zahl der Unternehmerinnen in Indonesien geringer als die der männlichen Unternehmer, und es stellt sich die Frage nach den Gründen für diese Entwicklung. Die Untersuchung zielt darauf ab, die unternehmerischen Absichten von Frauen anhand der Theorie des geplanten Verhaltens (Einstellung, subjektive Normen und wahrgenommene Verhaltenskontrolle) von Ajzen zu analysieren, die anhand von Bildung, Familien- und Arbeitserfahrungen gemessen wurde. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass Bildung und Berufserfahrung einen positiven Einfluss auf die Theorie des geplanten Verhaltens haben und neben den subjektiven Normen einen Einfluss auf die unternehmerische Absicht der Frauen haben. Es wird empfohlen, aus der Perspektive des konzeptionellen Rahmens weitere Faktoren zu analysieren, um die Faktoren herauszufinden, die Frauen motivieren, Unternehmerinnen zu werden. Um aus Sicht der Datenanalyse ein größeres Publikum zu erreichen, sollte die Stichprobenmethode in Zukunft auf eine breitere Population, einen größeren Stichprobenumfang und besser repräsentative Stichprobenmethoden ausgedehnt werden, was die Beschränkung dieser Studie darstellt.

Les résultats montrent que l'éducation et l'expérience professionnelle ont une influence positive sur la théorie du comportement planifié et ont un impact sur l'intention entrepreneuriale des femmes, en plus des normes subjectives. Du point de vue du cadre conceptuel, il est recommandé d'analyser davantage de facteurs afin de découvrir ceux qui motivent les femmes à devenir entrepreneurs. Afin de toucher un public plus large, du point de vue de l'analyse des données, la méthode d'échantillonnage devrait à l'avenir être étendue à une population plus importante, à un échantillon plus grand et à des méthodes d'échantillonnage plus représentatives, ce qui est devenu la limite de cette étude.
