Szczególnie w celu zainicjowania takich reform konieczna jest spójna wspó¿praca wszystkich zainteresowanych stron, tak aby nowe i zreformowane przepisy prawa pracy zostäy z powodzeniem wdro¿one w organizacjach. Zainteresowane strony b¿d¿ w stanie skutecznie przyczyni¿ si¿ do tego procesu tylko wtedy, gdy b¿d¿ miäy dog¿¿bn¿ wiedz¿ i zrozumienie na temat nowszych przepisów oraz ich wp¿ywu na stosunki pracy. W tym kontek¿cie w istniej¿cej literaturze istnieje du¿a luka dotycz¿ca ¿wiadomo¿ci/wiedzy pracodawców i mened¿erów na temat prawa pracy oraz tego, w jaki sposób ten brak wiedzy wp¿ywa na wdräanie regulacji dotycz¿cych zatrudnienia w krajach wyspiarskich Po¿udniowego Pacyfiku, a konkretnie na Fid¿i. This research seeks to fill this gap in the existing literature and provide knowledge and insight to scholars, practitioners, policy makers, aid donors to the Pacific Island countries and others who are interested in understanding the state of employment relations and employment law in the South Pacific Island countries and more precisely in Fiji.

La réforme de la législation du travail est un phénomène récent dans les pays insulaires du Pacifique Sud et les Fidji ne font pas exception à la règle. En particulier, pour lancer ces réformes, il est essentiel que toutes les parties prenantes coopèrent de manière cohérente afin que la nouvelle législation du travail réformée soit appliquée avec succès dans les organisations. Les parties prenantes ne pourront apporter une contribution efficace que lorsqu'elles auront une connaissance et une compréhension approfondies de la nouvelle législation et de son impact sur les relations de travail. Dans ce contexte, il existe un grand manque dans la littérature existante sur la sensibilisation/connaissance des employeurs et des gestionnaires sur le droit du travail et sur la manière dont ce manque de connaissance affecte la mise en ¿uvre de la réglementation de l'emploi dans les pays insulaires du Pacifique Sud et plus spécifiquement à Fidji. Cette recherche vise à combler cette lacune dans la littérature existante et à fournir des connaissances et un aperçu aux universitaires, aux praticiens, aux décideurs politiques, aux donateurs d'aide aux pays insulaires du Pacifique et à d'autres qui souhaitent comprendre l'état des relations et du droit du travail dans les pays insulaires du Pacifique Sud et plus précisément à Fidji.

Labour legislative reform is a recent phenomenon in the South Pacific Island countries and Fiji is not an exception to this phenomenon. Particularly to initiate such reforms there is essential need for cohesive cooperation of all the stakeholders so that new and reformed labour legislation is successfully implemented in organisations. The stakeholders will be able to contribute effectively only when they have in depth knowledge and understanding on newer legislation and the impact of such legislation on employment relations. In this context there is large gap in existing literature on awareness/knowledge of employers and managers on employment law and how this lack of knowledge affects the implementation of employment regulation in the South Pacific Island countries and more specifically in Fiji. This research seeks to fill this gap in the existing literature and provide knowledge and insight to scholars, practitioners, policy makers, aid donors to the Pacific Island countries and others who are interested in understanding the state of employment relations and employment law in the South Pacific Island countries and more precisely in Fiji.
