Nadir is an immigrant kid flung clueless into the jungle of a new high school in a new city, new country . . . new planet?

His new school isn't all his Aunt Shernell says it's cracked up to be. It's filled with vampires and zombies, with ghosts fading in the corners. The star-studded knights and princesses look the other way as long as they get their way. Somewhere between rude classes at Sheepshead Bay and living at the projects, there's an avenue for an alien boy to meet up with a girl witch and a boy wizard so they can try and save the school from a demented detention room that sucks souls.

Together they must form a team of ten to solve the pirate riddle and venture into the darkest deepest secret buried under the school.
