Biographical Texts from Ramessid Egypt

Biography and autobiography was a comparatively rare genre in Ramessid Egypt (ca.1290-1075 B.C.E.), used, when it was, to record the deeds or character of the deceased for judgement in the afterlife. This book translates 65 inscriptions, mostly from tombs, describing priests, civil officials, artists and military men.
