Lewis Greene doesn't believe in ghosts and prefers not to involve himself in his Uncle Owen's paranormal project at his hotel. However, his cousin Allan has been missing for two weeks now, and someone just murdered Allan's girlfriend in her hotel room.

Despite his misgivings, Lewis agrees to visit his uncle's hotel. When the police make no headway, Lewis decides to launch his own investigation. Among the rumors about his uncle's newly acquired hotel, he uncovers stories about Lady Sapphire who has been said to haunt the hotel.

As Lewis tries to determine his cousin's actions on the day he disappeared, he receives several threatening notes. He soon finds that if he doesn't come face-to-face with certain facts, he may find himself joining Lady Sapphire in the afterlife.
