Über Bobby Fischer - From Candidates Matches to World Championship 1972 - Move by Move
This book shows all the games played by Bobby Fischer, on his way to becoming Chess World Champion 1972. The Candidates Match against Taimanow, won by Fischer with 6-0. Then the second Candidates Match vs. Bent Larsen, also won by Fischer 6-0. After that there was the final Candidates Match against the former World Champion Tigran Petrosian, won by Bobby Fischer 6¿ - 2¿. No bare statement conveys the magnitude and impact of these results. Fischer sowed devastation. From the last seven rounds of the interzonal, until the first game against Petrosian, Fischer won 20 consecutive games, nearly all of which were against top grandmasters. Then in the match against Boris Spassky, he showed his ability to recognize the best move in any position on the board, no matter how complicated it was. Each move of all the games presented in this book, is shown with its chess diagram. Each page shows up to 24 moves/diagrams, in order to enable the reader to follow easily the game and the consequences caused by each move.
