Además, se pretende analizar el desplazamiento forzado, presentar las violaciones de los derechos humanos perpetradas contra los refugiados sirios y establecer un paralelismo entre la realidad vivida en los campos de refugiados y la experimentada por las personas en condición de refugio en Brasil, dados los diplomas legales. También se realizó una investigación de campo con refugiados sirios en Brasil, en la ciudad de Belo Horizonte, para comprender la realidad que viven, estableciendo un análisis de la ineficacia de los Derechos Humanos y Fundamentales, protegidos por la Constitución de 1988 de la República Federativa de Brasil y los Tratados Internacionales.

This book critically analyzes the reality of Syrian refugees in Brazil and in refugee camps from the perspective of international law. The Syrian War has triggered the biggest global humanitarian crisis since the Second World War. In this context, forced displacement, whether by refugees or even internally displaced persons, has contributed to the creation of refugee camps, which denote the infrastructure of misery. In addition, the aim is to analyze forced displacement, present the human rights violations perpetrated against Syrian refugees, and establish a parallel between the reality experienced in refugee camps and that experienced by individuals in a condition of refuge in Brazil, given the legal diplomas. Field research was also carried out with Syrian refugees in Brazil, in the city of Belo Horizonte, in order to understand the reality they experience, establishing an analysis of the ineffectiveness of Human and Fundamental Rights, protected by the 1988 Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil and International Treaties.

Questo libro analizza criticamente la realtà dei rifugiati siriani in Brasile e nei campi profughi dal punto di vista del diritto internazionale. La guerra siriana ha scatenato la più grande crisi umanitaria al mondo dalla Seconda guerra mondiale. In questo contesto, lo spostamento forzato, sia di rifugiati che di sfollati interni, ha contribuito alla creazione di campi profughi, che denotano l'infrastruttura della miseria. Dans ce contexte, les déplacements forcés, qu'il s'agisse de réfugiés ou même de personnes déplacées à l'intérieur de leur pays, ont contribué à la création de camps de réfugiés, qui dénotent l'infrastructure de la misère. En outre, l'objectif est d'analyser les déplacements forcés, de présenter les violations des droits de l'homme perpétrées à l'encontre des réfugiés syriens et d'établir un parallèle entre la réalité vécue dans les camps de réfugiés et celle vécue par les individus en condition de refuge au Brésil, compte tenu des diplômes légaux. His commissions include private gardens, the design of open spaces around hotels and industrial facilities, as well as sculpture gardens in Belgium, France, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Greece.

In 1931, the English designer Gerald Summers and his partner Marjorie Butcher opened their business, Makers of Simple Furniture, in London. Until 1940, the company produced hundreds of ingenious plywood designs that helped define the idea of the modern interior in Great Britain. Based on Marjorie Butcher's vivid recollections and a wealth of unpublished material-including photographs, personal correspondence, designs and workshop documents-the book traces the groundbreaking achievements of the furniture company best known for the iconic Bent Plywood Armchair .  The publication was supported in part by the Graham Foundationfor Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts. GERALD SUMMERS (1899-1967) is one of the foremost furniture designers of the twentieth century. Born in Alexandria, Egypt, he worked as an engineer before starting his design career. In 1931, he and his partner, MARJORIE BUTCHER (1909-1996), opened Makers of Simple Furniture in London. They managed the firm for almost ten years, producing hundreds of pieces for the modern home. In 1940, wartime exigencies brought an end to the enterprise. They redirected their energy to Gerald Summers Ltd., a supplier of engineering parts. MARTHA DEESE is an authority on Gerald Summers. She earned a master's degree in decorative art history from Cooper-Hewitt Museum/Parsons School of Design, New York, and worked for three decades as an administrator at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Her groundbreaking article on Summers and his firm, Makers of Simple Furniture, published in the Journal of Design History in 1992, remains the principal source on the designer.

Im Rahmen des Projekts "Die präventive Bedeutung des sozialen Umfelds nach der Entlassung aus dem Jugendstrafvollzug" wurden 17 junge männliche Strafgefangene, für die in der zweiten Jahreshälfte 2018 die Entlassung aus der Justizvollzugsanstalt Neustrelitz bevorstand, zu insgesamt drei Erhebungszeitpunkten interviewt und somit über einen Zeitraum von 17 Monaten durch die Interviewerin begleitet. Um auch die sozialen Beziehungsgefüge im Rahmen der qualitativen Längsschnittuntersuchung hinreichend untersuchen zu können, wurden ergänzend die durch die Strafgefangenen benannten Bezugspersonen sowie, soweit gegeben, die zuständigen Bewährungshelfer*innen wiederholt interviewt. Im Rahmen der Analyse der Längsschnittuntersuchung zeigt sich, dass die jungen Menschen nach der Haft sowohl intrinsische als auch strukturelle Veränderungsprozesse durchleben.

Das vorliegende Buch veranschaulicht die Problematiken, welche dann auftreten können, wenn uneinbringliche Geldstrafen im Wege der Ersatzfreiheitsstrafe vollstreckt werden. Das Aufzeigen von Sanktionsalternativen zur Ersatzfreiheitsstrafe, wie die Geldverwaltung und die gemeinnützige Arbeit verdeutlichen, dass es bereits in einigen Bundesländern erprobte Handlungsalternativen bei uneinbringlichen Geldstrafen gibt. Den Schwerpunkt des Buches bildet eine umfangreiche Rückfalluntersuchung, welche sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, die Legalbewährung von Personen, die Ersatzfreiheitsstrafen verbüßt haben, mit derjenigen nach den o. g. Haftvermeidungsmaßnahmen zu vergleichen und daraus Folgerungen für die Wirksamkeit dieser Maßnahmen zu ziehen. Zuvor wird die Gruppe der Geldstrafenschuldner, die ihre Geldstrafe trotz Mahnung nicht gezahlt haben und die die Androhung einer Ersatzfreiheitsstrafe erhalten haben, die sie später entweder antreten mussten oder aber durch eine der oben genannten Maßnahmen abwenden konnten, u. a. differenziert nach den demographischen Variablen wie Geschlecht, Alter, Nationalität etc. dargestellt. Abschließend wird unter Berücksichtigung der Reform des Sanktionenrechts aus dem Jahr 2023 der für die Verfasserin weiterhin bestehende Reformbedarf verdeutlicht und ein kriminologischer und kriminalpolitischer Ausblick geboten. Die Verfasserin betont dabei eine notwendige flächendeckende Etablierung von Haftvermeidungsmaßnahmen, um Menschen, die in prekären finanziellen Verhältnissen leben, eine gerechtere und auch unter spezialpräventiven Aspekten überzeugendere Möglichkeit zur Tilgung bzw. Erledigung der Geldstrafe anzubieten.
